A few people were asking in my last video how to join channel memberships or had other concerns, so if that was you this comment is a FAQ of sorts:
*first of all channel members is optional, my content remains largely free and accessible to everyone, and you DO NOT HAVE TO JOIN IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO!!!*
1. Do I have to pay to comment now???
*NO. You will always be able to comment on my videos freely, without having to pay for it. Channel memberships means that if a video goes FAR beyond my normal reach, I'll be able to choose "channel member comments" from the back end to filter ALL the comments down to channel members. Time is precious, and my time is not always free to tackle thousands of comments on videos that do really well. So, I need the option to filter down a bit when that happens.*
2. But you'll forget those of us who aren't channel members!
*I will be responding to comments as usual over the first day or two of videos going live, as I always have! I can't always respond to everyone anyway, but I'm not going to stop replying just because you're not a channel member.*
3. How do I join, I can't find it on mobile!
*it is now in my description! Apparently TH-cam doesn't have a join channel button as expected, so I've linked the option in my description!*
4.But I love your content, why does it have to be behind a paywall???
*My main videos will always, always be free, and I likely will only be doing live videos behind the paywall, for my own ease of mind as well as a little bit more control over the privacy of my family. Occasionally, I might start doing channel-member-only videos, because there are subjects the algorithm doesn't like and this IS my job, so it's unfortunately a bad business decision to put out videos that don't do well. However, I will always do my best to create content that is accessible to everyone, always, because at the end of the day I don't like being behind a paywall and excluding people.*
5. What do I get from being a channel member??
*I will be trying to share videos ad-free and early there, as well as sharing posts here and there of behind-the-scenes, possibly future content polls, and maybe some blooper videos as they come. I'm sorry I cannot offer more, but I'm doing what I can to ensure this channel and content creation does not burn me out, or nobody gets anything hah!*
6. You're only doing this for the money, I'm out ugh!
*I make content because I love to make content, I love to connect with community, and channel memberships is a way I can connect in a more responsible-for-me-and-my-time way. Unfortunately, people need a paycheck to survive. I love that I can create beautiful things as my job! But we have to acknowledge that content creators' time is not free, and if you do not like people being up-front about ways they earn as content creators, then you are simply asking us to entertain you with absolutely no return, which is pretty unfair and unreasonable.*
OK THAT IS IT I LOVE YOU ALLLL!!!
This is lovely. I'm so pleased you have done a membership option. Thank you!
Oh my, just noticed, your pyrex measuring cup is a new one. Be careful, maybe look for a Pyrex one. The vintage cups are made with better glass. Stay safe!
I'm a homemaker for right now because I need to work on my mental health. Sometimes my social media feeds seem to be full of people's awesome vacations and perfect houses and perfect lives. Your channel is very healing for me, because it normalizes and romanticizes normal, everyday life. It makes me feel adequate, and grateful for what I have rather than lacking and unhappy. Thank you.
THISSSSS is why I share what I do 💖 I don’t want this to ever become an aspirational, unrealistic channel. I may wear pretty dresses and do what I can to make my surroundings beautiful, but I will always try to share real life. Messes and sometimes hard things and just… life being life. Thank you so much.
This comment could have been written by me! I feel the exact same way and I return to your videos, Kristina, throughout my week whenever I need a comforting moment, as I would a chat with a friend. You have created a beautiful space!! ❤
I love this comment! I'm so tired of the fake over the top channels too- totally unrelatable. My 4 kiddos are grown. Social media is good at creating false highly curated esthetic videos that put parents/people under so much pressure.
Don't be jealous of those people. Most likely scenario, they're putting up a veneer of perfection while making everyone stressed and miserable around them. Worst case scenario, they're living the perfect life, but they have no concept of how valuable it is. Those of us that can be thankful for a fallen leaf you can crunch underfoot, or traffic that keeps your commute a little safer can appreciate all those things so much better than people who happen on it easily. It might be nice if someone hands you a wad of cash, but if you earned it somehow doing something you're good at, somehow the things you buy with that wad of cash with be so much more enjoyable 🥰✌️
Love you Kristina, you have given me comfort and emotional safety. Like a warm hug that only my Nan could give me without words needed. Thank you with all my heart 🍓🍓🍓
🥹🥹🥹 you are incredibly kind. Thank you!
Thank you for offering something authentic and achievable in a vast sea of perfectly curated homes and flawless 22 year-olds with perfectly coiffed locks and expensive cottagecore apparel. Your channel feels like sitting in the kitchen with a friend who lets you come exactly as you are. ❤
🥹 thank you. This is exactly how I always hope it feels
Your videos are calm and soothing to the soul, keep it up friend.😊 I enjoy them so much!
I'm so glad! Thank you Linda!
Your videos are so cozy! It’s also exciting to see your new kitchen in action! Y’all worked so hard on it and it’s truly so beautiful and so YOU!❤🍓
I am so pleased to see you painting; I think it turned out great. I am also happy that you can take time for yourself. I do not think that there is such a thing as painting badly...everybody has their unique way of expressing themselves. Sometimes you like what you do better than other times, but it is a learning process and the time spent to meditate and create something that really matters. I made myself a birthday present; I bought art supplies and I will start painting and drawing again, and I will try some journaling as well-I am so excited about that. Now the only thing is to make time for it. I am quite a busy mom too, although my 3 children are much older than yours. I have all of them homeschooled and I work full time and take care of the house and big garden. Luckily, I work from home, so I do not lose time driving to work. But... cooking from scratch almost every day is a job in itself. I am happy to see that you can make a living out of being a mother, housewife, and content creator. I think mothers should have at least minimum wage from the government because what a lot of mothers are able to do is incredible and needs to be recognized.
I love this video. Your paintings are beautiful and your recipes look delicious. I love the new direction you're taking with your channel. I enjoyed your previous content as well, but this speaks to me.
I’m so glad to hear this! It’s so much more fulfilling to me as a creator to film this way, it feels much more meaningful too. Thank you!
I love this!
I work about 25hrs a week as a dance teacher and I will say my house is never fully clean and there are days I barely see my hubby.
I love how you are slowing down and hope to do this myself next year. Have a good rest ❤
What a beautiful and wonderful video. Thank you for sharing your beautiful and wonderful times of quiet and love with us. You’re so loved💕💕💕💕
Thank you for being here, Trisha 💖
A hopeful handy tip, if you hold the strainer/sieve concave against the pot, that is to say, curve inwards, you can pour from the pot with more control and not worry as much about drips when pouring into a smaller aperture than the strainer/sieve.
I always enjoy your videos, they're a lovely slice of calm in a chaotic world, thank you for all the effort you put in. 💜
I'm so in love with your videos. Because of you I have also started to intentionally try to live a slow life and I love it so much. Thank you. My garden didn't do as well this year as it has in past years but I still keep at it because each year I learn something new, and it's also extremely relaxing to me. I too would one day like to grow and save enough to feed us through the winter. I dream of having land to forage and garden on, but alas, we live in the city. We have a 5 yr plan in place tho, so one day we'll be there. I love how you have all of these wonderful trees and berries to provide you with yummy fruits. Since you have started doing the hobbit Sept, we have too! 💚 We made the Lembas Bread recipe that you posted a couple years back and me and now it is part of our yearly tradition. My kids LOVE it so much, it didn't last the day 😂 I will definitely be looking into the books you listed so that I too can learn more about the plants that grow around me. My biggest thing I want to learn is canning so I can save what excess I get from my garden. It's funny that you mentioned painting. I used to dream of painting but thought I was always too messy with it. I've actually started it back up this month too! It's also very relaxing, even with my mess and mistakes. And lastly I definitely feel like your husband deserves more followers. I have followed him for a while now on YT and IG and I enjoy watching his films. He does a wonderful job. Your entire family is so talented. Thank you for being here and reminding me that slowing down and finding the small pockets of peace and joy are what matters. I hope you get some much needed rest over the next few weeks. ❤️ I will as always, be waiting for your next video. Love, Tiffany 😊
I love you so much friend! Also, CANNING YESSS. I know how to can on a technical level and I’ve been wanting to do more of it, maybe next year I will.
I love knowing that I’ve inspired you to do these things! Haha it is so funny that we have both picked up painting again!
I can’t say why - because I love all of this channel - but I think this is my very favorite. What a pleasure it was to watch. You inspire me. Thank you for your hard work and sharing the results with the world. 💕
Thank you! That means a lot, I loved making this one!
Absolutely wonderful and healing video for me. Thank you ❤
Thank you so much Sally, I’m so glad!
It’s always such a joy to watch your videos.
Thank you!
Well Kristina you live in the Garden of Eden ❤ how blessed you are ❤
Washington IS very beautiful 💖
Your watercolors are beautiful and would make very nice greeting cards. Thanks for the reminder to slow down. I forget that it OK and a necessity.
This video was so much fun! I love your garden space.
You always sound so peaceful. Thank you for that. You are so sweet to share so much tranquility with us. On days when it's too hot to breathe here I can watch a couple of your videos and feel cooler and can think again. 🤗
Your garden is almost entrancing, i especially love the branch archway!! As my father would say blessings on you!! Pam
I am in LOVE with your beautiful kitchen, your lovely video brought me such joy! As a fellow racing brain girl, I am inspired by you! Thank you!!!
Ahhh thank you! Racing brain gals unite 😂 I swear I have a billion thoughts at ALL times
@@WithLoveKristina It is our super power! :)
I truly hope you have a peaceful break. You deserve it! 🌻🌲❤
Thank you! It will be good to take a little time off, I often just need a week to reset and feel better!
I enjoyed every second of your video, its packed with wisdom!
Kristina I love watching your videos. You have a beautiful home and family. I have learned a lot by watching your videos. ❤ you are a very talented young lady..
Thank you! Also your profile photo is cuuuute!
Oh! A small note to anyone curious: Bragg’s sold a few years ago so their mother is not as strong and healthful as it once was. Kristina making her own vinegar is the right call if you are looking for more nutritious vinegars.
Oooh I didn’t know this. But I’m not surprised, it has seemed different lately
Delighted as always. Your home is situated in, what I would call, an idyllic setting. I love everything about your channel. See you when you get back ❤
I really love where we live, thank you! Washington will forever have my heart.
Your painting is beautiful!
Haha I’m glad you think so. I’m not much of an impressionist so it’s not my favorite but I’m learning!
Beautiful video ❤️
So soothing, thank you
🥰 thank you! I’m so glad it felt soothing
I love your videos, they are sooooooo stresless.
I live hearing your little in the background. ❤❤
Happy autumn 🍂 ❤
Hahah my comments sometimes suggest auto responses and the suggestion was “happy new year” 😂 anyway happy autumn!
I love the music!
Ahhh thank you! I work hard on finding music to be appropriate for the videos!
This video is beautiful and so relaxing ❤🧡💛💚🤎
Oh thank you!!
Your baked goods look delicious !!
Beautiful video. The Hobbit Way to live is the best way to live!
Slow and cozy is always the way to go!
Such a lovely video! Enjoy your autumn break! I've subscribed to John's channel and will check out your blog. ❤
Have a refreshing break❤
Thank you!
What a lovely video. So engaging and engrossing. I really wanted to take a bite out of one of those pies. 😂 Also, if you are intersted in more holistic and naturopathic home remedies, I recommend looking up books by Rosemary Gladstar. She has truly been a pioneer of teaching people about health and wellness thru foods and herbs. Her books are wonderful.
Oh I will look her up, I love natural medicine! It fascinates me. I’m also very much a modern person who loves modern medicine, but if I CAN do it naturally I will!
Hailing from skinny botoxed Colorado I approve this message! Eat the damn cake!
Lovely! Subscribed to hubby's channel.
He says thank you so much!
Time to take a breath, everyone ❤
Time to stand on the porch in the cool morning air and just breathe. With coffee in hand 💖
Sooo beautiful!
Thank you Susan!
Great food! 🤗😍🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇
Beautiful! ❤
Thank you! 😊
Love your videos
Thank you!
My husband calls me a hobbit, mostly because I hate wearing shoes so I am always barefoot whenever possible.
Hazard for hobbit-y goodness! I have Ben wanting to try making a small meat and veggie hand pie for an easy meal on a chaotic day.
Yaaaay, the hobbit video is here!! I'm so happy, thank you for sharing!
Thank you for being here!
Lovely to watch...your apple skirt is a dream❤ l love apple prints like you love strawberry...😊😊
Thank you, I made it a couple years ago!
I can't find the list of the books featured in this video. PS: love the pink door on your house.
Nevermind....just found the link!
Still loving the pink door though!
In my Amazon storefront there’s a list of books I use 💖
Krista in August I found a ton of trees and berries Viburnum never heard of them found tons of in backyard I did not know if they were poisonous it saids you can eat them you can make wine tea jelly high in antioxidants do you anything about these kind berries???
If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world.
One of my favorite quotes 🥰
This is a particularly beautiful video. Are you going to post your recipes? I’m very interested in the hand pies❤
I posted what I can on my blog- copyright prevents me from posting them all sadly!
Another lovely vision! What do you do with your spent elderberries? Do you save them in the freezer for winter fruit breads or vinegar? I struggle to compost spent berries like turning whey into another threat after cheese making.
I composted them, I didn’t even think about putting them in baking, dang it! Oh well, I will next time. Elderberry vinegar would be an interesting experiment!
@@WithLoveKristina Yes! There’s always next time. Maybe boosting fruit leather flavor, shrub, or even puddings. Now I wonder if a berry lip tint might work. Thank you for always being an inspiration.
Oooh they give off so much color, a berry lip tint might work GREAT!
❤️✌🏻
🙋♀️❤️
I saw the word “hobbit” & thought I wouldn’t like this video because I’m not interested in that stuff. However, I loved how relaxing & visually beautiful this video is. Enjoy your break. September is crazy here for us too. We try to fit in as many outdoor activities in before the cold comes & I decorate every inch of our houses for Halloween & Fall. Happy Fall! 🍂🍁🍃
I’m so ready for fall weather and fall things!
Do you know anything about Viburnum ???
I couldn't find the link to your husband's channel in the pinned comment or in the show notes, where can I find it?
It’s tagged in my description! If you want to TH-cam search, it’s @sukofilms
Здравствуйте
Oh, to be a hobbit.😊
I will forever be a hobbit at heart🥰
I can't find the link to your husbands channel?
He’s tagged in my description 💖
I don’t concern myself with diet culture. However it’s important to me to be healthy and be at a healthy weight. I want to live a long time.
I think this response is very much because diet culture has taught you that only certain bodies of certain weights are healthy.
I had this mindset for a long time. It led to restrictive eating that I didn’t realize was restrictive (paleo, Mediterranean diet, south beach diet, etc) because it was still Whole Foods and didn’t seem restrictive.
That, in part, led to a considerable weight gain over the years. I think if I’d learned that food is neutral morally, and that any kind of heavily restricted (not eating certain food groups, not eating till full, counting calories, workouts to “burn off calories” and deserve certain foods) I likely would be thinner. But, thin bodies aren’t the goal of life.
This is one of the only times I will talk about my “weight journey” if that’s what we call it - the moment I stopped restricting food or meals and began to learn about intuitive eating, I stopped gaining weight. Prior, I was gaining weight yearly and constantly low key dieting to “get it off”, then gaining even more. Once I realized I don’t exist to only be thin, and began eating intuitively, I’ve been within the same 10lbs for the last 5 years now, and mentally healthier around food and body image than I have ever been before.
I eat when I am hungry. I do not restrict ANY foods, however of course some moderation is always necessary in any healthful diet. Food is morally neutral. In and of itself it is neither good NOR bad.
And diet culture seeks to ensure we are always trying to reduce our bodies in order to be worthy of respect, being attractive, or even just eating.
I apologize for the long comment but I DO thing your response is still tinged by the way society teaches us about bodies, and correlates “health” with a certain type of fitness or thinness.
Larger bodies can be healthy, too. Larger bodies can live long lives, too. There is plenty of evidence of this. All our grandmas were plump and happy at 80, were they not? 😉
you are extremely beautiful, that's all I have to say today, its from the heart though
I accept 😉😘
Dear Kristina, I love your content, your personality, your sweet & soothing voice, your outfits, your kitchen, etc! I have a favor to ask (mostly for yourself!): can you PLEASE stop referring to your mental health, weight, and others' opinions of you in each of your videos? Also, please stop reading comments (well, except this one lol)! If you keep on identifying with all of that, I fear that this path may not be the best one for you - THOSE THINGS ARE NOT YOUR IDENTITY! And I don't want to know or be reminded of them with each (ANY!) of your videos. It completely tanks the mesmerizing & magical vibe you have set with the scenery, music, projects, etc. Will you please promise to be nice to yourself, find a way to feel safe with other peoples' opinions, stop taking these negative traits as your identity, and refuse to announce them to your viewers (& your children/husband)? Thank you, sweet human! Sending hugs & appreciation...
I am a grown woman and quite capable of deciding what I would like to talk about in my videos, and to whom I respond.
Whether or not I reply to a comment or speak on a subject in a video is because I WANT to, and while things I speak on may seem incredibly personal to you, they are still quite curated and intentional.
Mental health is an important and oft taboo topic. Weight and diet culture are also taboo. And, telling the person to whom comments are direct that they aren’t allowed to respond is… silly.
These are things I talk about not because I’m struggling but because I am in a healthy space in which to talk about them, and choose to do so because I, at one time, needed someone else to speak out. Once upon a time I felt utterly isolated, and had nowhere and nobody to watch in the land of ultra curated perfect content land.
I saw your comment on another video and didn’t respond because comments like these are the ones that bother me most. Please don’t tell me what to do in my content, I know you mean well but it’s pretty frustrating to be infantilized as if I’m not able to take care of myself.
Speaking about these things is part of me curating my content to be healthy FOR me.
I hope you understand, and do not worry. 💖
I would also quickly like to address your note about my weight or mental health not being my identity
I think perhaps you do you not understand that the experiences I have lived through as a plus size person, and as someone who did not know they had ADHD, and could be on the spectrum until four years ago are what makes me who I am. Finding out that I have ADHD was such a huge relief for me because it relieves so much of the shame that I should be a certain way, and I am not. Depression, ADHD, and anxiety are things that I live with every day. They ARE part of who I am
these experiences are what make me kind, understanding, and empathetic. They are what have shaped my life to this day. I would not be who I am without them.
So to dismiss my desire to speak openly about the things that I do is to, in part, reject some of who I am VERY comfortable being, because… I’m not sure. If it makes you uncomfortable, I understand. If you’re worried, don’t be. If you feel the need to protect me, again, I’m not a child 💖 I am close to 40, and while I have many experiences to live yet, I’m not inexperienced or naive or too innocent for the world and whatever comes my way.
Do not mistake my willingness to be soft and open in my videos as me blindly going into the world without understanding the darkness that exists here
I am vulnerable BECAUSE I have experienced that ugliness. I am soft BECAUSE the world is hard. I am open BECAUSE the world is closed off and isolates those who are different like me.
And I read comments because this is a community I have built for myself. To cut me off is to ask me to abandon the very kind community I love and attracted because of who I am 💖
