I've been a northwest sea kayaker for decades now. Our last adventure was to Bowron Lakes in open canoes however. So much to explore just over the border. Thanks Claus.

I've done that trip. The lakes form a square shape. Lots of portage...

We called it canoeing in the UK when I was in the scouts, many moons ago. We camped. Nothing like getting up at six in the morning and getting a fire going so we could eat toast. My that was good. Not now though, I like my creature comforts and running water!

Thanks for bringing us along. Nice Canadian Eagles. I hope the bacon of which you spoke was NOT Canadian bacon.

Very nice, impressed you got 9 days of supplies plus water into 3 kayaks. This is why I am a canoe fresh water guy, can carry my bigger gear haha. Looks like an excellent vacation!

Yes. Canoe in fresh water is much easier. But on the west coast NO BUGS!

The only issue I have with hammock camping is getting in and out of the damn thing at night for a pee haha

Nice Snatch reference there, Claus. I love these. It's like the slide shows your grandparents showed but as a movie.

You need to carry a can of Cougar Repellent Spray in your kayak like Batman for such an occasion Claus.

You a completely correct. I met a cougar today at my account. I maintained eye contact and it rubbed against me and hugged. I’m assuming it’s a territorial thing

Hey claus, I honestly have never seen people take a full on camp stove and propane bottle that size. Normally I leave them at home and take a white gas stove dragon fly or whisperlite.
Broken islands amazing, have visited 3-4 times

you know its a shame that you have to have a card to tell people what to do. This information is basically common sense that people should already know(i know some of the info is what some may not think of though). My dad always told me to expect the unexpected when going into nature

it's good you didn't find sea lions. after a 300kg sea lion 'plays' with your kayak, you won't smell very good either. ask me how I know.

Did you fish? Looks like a fun time. I am a bit envious of the good time you obviously had. Oh look it is a bear buffet. The bear doesn't need to bow its head to eat you. Nice!
