Whenever I see the young generations in ancient cultures doing their utmost for the preservation of their heritage it tends to make me teary-eyed for the sheer beauty of it. I've just learned that not only in the last centuries Corsica had a prominent role in our western civilization but that its history can be traced back into millennia as well, having even menhirs in that precious island. You go Corsicans, preserve your language and your identity, I hope you get your independence in due time though I also pray for it to be achieved by peacefully if possible cause it´s important to preserve the lives of the people itself above all, each individual life is precious and with them each ancestral lineage. And may all the Corsican political prisoners be released the soonest!
But in the end they would’ve needed up immigrating to France regardless. Apart from the small Germanic states that can really run a state properly without the level of corruption that commits it to poverty.
Hold up so you want them free from france... but become part of italiy? LOL You realize the irony in that right? If you want them free you want them free, becoming a part of Italy doesnt change anything dude lmfao
@Bad Trigger self determination according to the nationalities you like xd both peoples are nations without their state and both claims are equally valid
Corsica si cataluña NO OS QUEREMOS MUCHO CATALUÑA NECESITAMOS UNA ESPAÑA UNIDA CATALUÑA Y LOS CATALANES SON DE LA MADRE ESPAÑA .. SERIA COMO ABANDONAR A UN HIJO A LA DERIBA
I think the young Corsicans here have great ideas. First gradually go for more autonomy, with eventual independence in view as the final goal. Too many times more radical nationalist movements have created more problems than they could solve, so these young people are motivated and very intelligent. I'm sure one day Corsica will be independent, as it should be, but a gradual step by step approach is the way to go.
Catalan and Corsica remind me California and Texas that we have our own culture but influence by USA. The landscape of southern France and Corsica look so similar to the landscape of California dry and hilly with pine trees everywhere. These people remind me of us Californian were proud of our culture but we need to encourage people to speak Spanish. Like Corsica many in California want to speak England and Spanish is also main language.
@@peterbound2119 hardly pointless, both those regions he mentioned were taken from other countries and had specific cultural values and a language that were forced to assimilate , Corsicans weren't even allowed to speak their language until the 80's likewise California and Texas are no longer considered Spanish speaking states despite being former Mexican states

France should learn to let go of Guyana, Caledonia and Corse. Colonialism has no place in the 21st century.
