    I just install my GRX 810 by following this video. Nice clear instructions I watched it a couple of times and then followed several steps in one go. Worth noting that a cable pulling tool really helps getting the cable taught, and the cable pinch bolt needs to be screwed down quite hard, as the cable slipped through after I had installed the change and was tweaking the gears - so I had to restart.

    This is very clear step by step video about how to get Shimano GRX front derailleur adjusted, if you have one. My derailleur was adjusted so so, it bothered me a lot and made me hating the gears in the whole. While I had to change cable I decided to adjust derailleur again with this video. Success was quaranteed!

    Great video! I’m having a little trouble though, the screw that’s goes through and should push onto the frame... the derailleur is placed in a position so that when the screw goes through there is no frame to push on, it’s just in mid air. This is an issue because I need to straighten the cage because the chain is rubbing the metal side...

I have a question, the 2mm screw that goes through the middle, that is supposed to touch the frame is nowhere near the frame in my case (Giant Revolt carbon frame). It misses it by a whole centimeter. What should I do? Maybe put in a spacer in that covers this empty space so that the screw can touch that spacer?

    1. If you want to use the clutch - will you have to dial limits even more potentially?

    • @junglejay77
      @junglejay77 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@FreeToCycle Hi Free To Cycle, I am having a similar issue to the above, which is particularly problematic on my wife's bike as the force required to shift into the big ring is too much for her. I lubed the cable and the seat tube cable pulley, and I tried to avoid pulling too much on the cable when first installing it under the FD's fitting screw, to no avail. Note that I am using the FD with a 105 series 11s shifter, which should be compatible according to the Shimano compatibillity chart. I also checked the shifter without any tension, and without any cable, including by removing the inspection panel (per your other video), and found no issue at the shifter level. Grateful for any tip you might have.

    Have the hi/lo limiters on the front mech changed? You never used to be able to use the hi limiter to actually move the derailleur outboard when the mech was on the large ring. Is this a valid way to adjust the position on outer ring? I used to have to use tension which was a PITA.

    Very helpful, as are all of your videos. I have a question thought. The cable guide on the back of my seat tube forces me to terminate the cable housing about 3-4 inches short of the derailleur. It is designed to act as a stop for the end cap. This means I would have to run the bare internal cable from this point straight into the derailleur. Have you encountered this setup and do you have any thoughts on whether it will work?

    Thanks, that was just the ticket. I fitted grx 600 rings to my 810 chainset for a little lower gears and had to drop the front mech a little and reset. I'vr had a lifetime of experience in bike setup with campag, suntour, shimano, simplex, blah blah. This showed me how much I didn't know about modern tech, excellent front mech tensioning, double trim settings which I've only seem on a triple before. So please to have gone with GRX and to have it's modern features so clearly explained by a pro. BTW if anyone contemplates the 600 46/30 rings on an 810 spider the anti chain jam pin on the 600 rings is longer than the 800 as yhe 600 cranks have a hollow inside face. A few seconds with a file shortens it and avoids distorting the big ring against the drive side crank.
