Great mod. So much better. No need to take anything apart either. I lifted the hook end of the spring enough to grab with needle nose pliers. Thanks heaps mate!

I don’t usually wear gloves (spare me the safety lecture folks). The spring tension and those stock hard plastic grips make your hand and wrist ache. Cramp buster helps, but not the ideal solution. Great tip man.
I just did this mod couple of days ago put about 2 hundred miles in and this is what I have found: 1. The throttle is very light, hence my Teenre seems faster than my 990 and my 701 supermoto. I LOVE IT. 2. Can get up to speed VERY VERY fast compared to before (something to be aware of especially in the city) 3. No need for a cruise control (IMO) as it is very easy to hold the throttle at any speed. 4. The only cons I. might think of is for a beginner rider this should possible cause some issues and also Off road, HOWEVER, together with one finger clutch from CAMEL ADV this set up it is amazing as you get ore friction zone without that ON and OFF feeling of the original clutch, Thank you for this tip TOMEK!!! I want to mention that I did this mod using a pick tool and it took about 20 seconds, NO NEED to disable anything, no bracket no 10 mm bolt.
I have put up with this for almost 4 years! I can't believe it was such a simple fix, took me less than 5 mins, I was looking at getting a new spring and modifying it. No more complaining to my riding buddies that I've got a sore wrist and copping that sort of flack for it! 😆 Thank you!
@AdventureTomek well I discovered today that my throttle doesn't quite return to idle when letting go of it close to low idle when I pulled up at the lights, my cables are free and throttle tube isn't sticky, there just isn't enough tension on the spring to get it back to closed, so I'll be putting it back to standard, I did go into Yamaha to see if I could get just the spring to see if I could modify it, but unfortunately you have to buy the whole throttle body. Ah well was worth a try, time to save up for cruise control.
I had the same problem of my throttle, not closing all the way after moving the spring. I put it back to the original and made sure everything was lined up correctly and not overtightened and it’s still causing problems not closing all the way.
Just did it and of course lost the whole spring and everything... Feared the worst but it is easy to reassemble. Took a few minutes and now the throttle is much easier to move. No issues with it returning to zero either.
Thanks a lot man! I had no trouble with the wrist while riding, my problem was that my throttle lock was slipping a little. Now with a lighter spring pull throtle lock is rock solid. Great sucsess :) and also subscribed.
@@AdventureTomek So just turning the gas handle when stationary makes it feel much better and easier. Unfortunately I haven't driven it yet because the weather is so bad this summer... :)
I've noticed this immediately on my T7. I can spend 15 hours on my 500 with no problems but a little over an hour on the T7 and I notice my wrist is sore. I'll be looking at this mod soon.
My problem is not the wrist, but a painful hand/ palm. Left hand is perfectly fine. As you said, about an hour in. On the highway at constant speeds. If in more point and shoot or non-constant throttle opening, absolutely no problems. Basically made the adventure tour part impossible. I will give this a try. Thanks P.S. I thought I would try a foam grip over the OEM grip, but never got to it
@AdventureTomek I was also wondering if the rest of the CP2 engines or bikes have the same issue. I have never heard this come up before rhis video. If not, are their return springs set different or all together a different spring
I'll have to remember this mod. On my first few rides my wrist was sore but I went for some longer rides this past weekend and everything was good to go.
Nice vid man! But You don’t want a wrong torque spec on the chassis like Tenere’s…. Even you want to tighten by hand, a small wrench like that can never get to the proper torque.
@@AdventureTomek I dont know if you need to hit the gym but i do push ups and squats 4-5 times a week, this got rid of the wrist pain that i sometimes felt on my enduro bikes together with a slightly fatter grip than an enduro style.Happy trails with your Tenere!
Question about your high mount issue? Can you give a quick explanation for what you need to modify with that? I’m getting ready to install the kit that you’ve got and if there’s a modification that needs to be done, I’d rather do it during the install than after.
I did this and the spring missed the catch so it completely unwound. Can you confirm at all if it the spring is only twisted enough to catch the new ledge or is it a full rotation twist onto the new ledge? Absolutely no information on the internet about reinstall of the spring.

@@dalehatton6965 did you align everything correctly and not over tighten the 10mm nut?

thanks for this conversion trick. I have already converted it on my Tenere 700 2023 as you showed. Greetings from Germany

@@AdventureTomek Me too 😊
Haven’t had an issue with mine
I've changed the throttle tube out to lessen the rotation. Doing this as well would work okay or not?
It will work fine
It will work well but be careful ,too much power if you make the throttle like 1/4 turn or something
Throttle lock?
I would still recommend this spring hack. Very easy to change back to stock position if you are not happy with it.
God bless, thank you
You are welcome
nice CUR tshirt LOL
I wanna do this I’m just worried about effing it up shoot lol I can do this I can do this
Have a friend help you.
Whats the most annoying to me is the free play on the throttle cable...
It is adjustable
