I already played this game on the channel before. It was actually the first walkthrough I've ever made. There are many improvements in this new version: ◘ I read all the books, letters and clipboards, as well as BJ's journal. ◘ English subtitles. There are no in-game subtitles, so I added them myself. ◘ Smoother gameplay with improved tactics. ◘ No damage taken. ◘ 1440p
I've found your channel because of your walkthrough of this game. It's still my favourite FPS after all these years, now more because of memories than anything else. Thanks for remaking it, keep up the good work. Much love
This game defines an era of PC gaming, where everything felt fresh and unique. Gaming industry was much smaller back then and everything felt so innovative and interesting.
Ahh a instant classic. As much as I love the other Wolfenstein games, this one always resonates with me the most. The music, weapons, enemies. Its a classic. Plus Tony Jay's awesome voice is lent to this gem.
So many things I could say...but i'll keep it to two things so its not too long winded. First... 120 attempts. The three levels in this video had a combination of 120 attempts to get the footage you deemed professional enough to put your name on publically. THAT is the difference between a high-end walkthrough, and a playthrough. If anyone wasn't sure..THIS is the difference. Secondly, the game itself...has aged better than I expected. I love the tricksy little secrets, and the overwhelming "we are nazis" stuff everywhere, I enjoy that you get to smash pictures of hitler or nazi flags and get rewarded with secrets for it. I find it hillarious and fun that your dagger can stab a concrete wall so hard it shatters and reveals hidden rooms..its FUN game design, from a fun era of shooters. Alot more I could go on about, but I've got the whole walkthrough to talk about level design, story, your strategies..etc etc... Ok one more..The grenade placement was amazing. Lining up the exact shot, timing the fuse-burn...just amazing. :D
Noticed that number, but I didn't mention it because you did it first. Not even Wolfenstein 3D has aged remarkably as this. Anyways, I can argue that this has aged as well as Heretic, SiN, and Soldier of Fortune.
Fun fact: at least in my experience, you can just shoot the soldier at 19:15 with a Mauser and not get detected. The other one patrolling with him will just look at his corpse and not even notice. Just a fun way to take advantage of some older mechanical issues lmao That said I really appreciate how you take advantage of the optional stealth mechanics in the first two stages. I learned about the ones in the first stage via a walkthrough way back but essentially learned of the ones in the second on my own. Very fun times.
Yeah, same here, it was one of the first shooters I played actually, and I enjoy replaying the game once in a while even now :) One of the best FPS games of its era.
I used to play this game all the time a few years back, and I knew all the secrets all enemies, but this is interesting, doing it without getting hurt, that's crazy! Thank You for this gameplay. Not many people try this kind of challanges nowadays. And also the subtitles is a very good idea. Sometimes it's hard to understand what they say.
kinda late but i just completed this game again , and damn your playthrough is exactly how i'd imagine Blazcko in a real mission. My gameplay was nowhere near this level , i mostly runned and gunned😅
In my old RTCW run, which you can also find on my channel, I used the "run&gun" approach a lot, but of course I had to change my playstyle for a "no-damage" run :)
Nice decision to 'redo' this walktrought with more quality (both graphics and gameplay), high level as your standards. I hope that at some point you can give Black, the iconic PS2 game, a chance. Happy new year Pato, keep it up!
Just watching this as an in-between to the very long Deus Ex 1 playthrough. May wanna do the same afterwards by continuing with Wolfenstein 2009, which I am curious to see since I haven't played that, The New Order+The Old Blood, and The New Colossus+The Freedom Chronicles. And besides, I know and love this game to heart. Not even 3D and TNO can compare, this is quite a peak Wolfenstein installment despite feeling a bit like Medal of Honor: Allied Assault and Call of Duty 1 in a bunch of places... then again, the makers for this, seen at 0:12, did do the latter's United Offensive expansion. 0:05: Please, guys, don't hurt your street cred by withholding from Mick Gordon. 0:08: Screw you. That is all. 0:21: No, folks, this isn't Corvus from Heretic. A great game, though, and aged far better than Hexen I and II and Heretic II. Rather, his name is Simon the Sorcerer/Wanderer. No, not to be confused with the puzzle adventure kid. 0:59: This bloke's name is Heinrich I. Inevitably, you'll end up fighting him, because otherwise, why would this flashback intro be relevant? (Seems to look like DC Comics' Lobo and Hatred's player character Not Important, the guy.) Ooh, subtitles. Am disappointed that these aren't from a mod, for they're just made exclusively for the video playthrough. 1:32: Doomguy, is that you grunting? (With this in mind, is it possible that Simon is a distant ancestor to the Wolfenstein 3D, Commander Keen, and classic Doom Blazkowicz bloodline?) How timely of the timeskip to reach exactly a thousand years later. 2:36: Title drop! Won't be the only one, either. 2:55: *Sometime after the Xbox-exclusive Cursed Sands missions.* Oh, we'd kill to get those playable for the PC even as a mod not unlike Half-Life 1's Decay co-op expansion. Well, hello, Office of Secret Actions Director, also known as Megabyte from ReBoot/Frollo from Disney's The Hunchback of Notre Dame, the mutant Lieutenant from Fallout 1, Doc Lipschitz from Rugrats, Shere Khan from TaleSpin, and a bunch more mostly villainous folk. 4:33: Little did we know then, he would become a feared and long-living adversary to B.J.. 4:44: Am surprised this guy isn't actually Bernard Montgomery. 4:53: So, Giftkrieg from Episode 5 of Wolfenstein 3D? 5:52: The real life Kreisau Circle wasn't as effective and well connected with the Allied Forces though. Oh, and love how you have a cyanide pill in gameplay just because. I hear stock screams. 6:43: Just like the skeleton cages in 3D. 6:59: This neatly explains the dead Guard and free Pistol back in the very first non-chronological mission of 3D. Now this is how you do a clever soft reboot and even an interquel of sorts... Wolfenstein lore is quite varied. 7:52: Luger's a good enough pistol. That is all for now. Still, the humble Fairbairn-Sykes Knife is something to behold. Beats 3D's janky one too. Good addition, leaning mechanics. 8:03: Remember, *nothing good left in the world!!!* (Wait, wrong worldline. RIP Agent One a.k.a. Frank Webley.) Rude of you to give him another shock though. 8:46: The MP40 is a real good and common weapon, all things considered, but it'll be overshadowed. 11:47: That's neat environmental foreshadowing. Can't believe they didn't notice the broken wood falling from the roof. 12:51: I'd rather call the Mauser a Kar98. Thank CoD for that. It's been fun, stealth gameplay, but it's time to do the genre tradition of shooting. 13:40: How do they open this place up? Removing bricks one by one? 13:47: Good old Stick Grenades can be wonky to inexperienced players, but for experts, timing it well leads to very good results. They also work and sound like the Quake III Grenade Launcher. 15:42: Obvious, but endearing. 16:07: That's fitting. 18:12: Such overelaboratedness. 18:57: Didn't even notice his buddy fall and gurgle. 20:38: You're not gonna eat that? It beats dog food. 21:07: Fortunately or unfortunately, depending on who you ask, they're not an army of Batmen. 22:21: Armor pieces can be very uncommon. Don't waste them too much in combat. 23:31: Five year old wines acquired. Are they that good? 25:21: That reminds me, how fat is Goering at this point? 26:46: How'd you not get damage from here? 28:12: Must be a Black Guard reject. Love the death animations. They're not Source ragdolls, but they tend to make up for it with variety and motion. To escape, B.J. Blazkowicz, you have to go Where Eagles Dare! (ba-dum-tss) 30:16: Pray you don't end up doing an Inglorious Basterds flub by ordering more than a certain amount of German beers. 31:52: It was in grams? Sloppy. 33:08: That should have wrecked the tram. Love how the tram section got recycled for RtCW's multiplayer component. Shame they're not as loaded as other multiplayer titles nowadays, especially when compared to Enemy Territory. 37:03: Back then, I thought this was B.J., not Kessler. 37:30: Reminds me of the Finnish forces who fought against the Soviets in their Winter War. Anyone ever accidentally attacked Kessler? You know, the description may need timestamps featuring the readables and other notable stuff.
very good job editing the video! it was seemless! I could not see where you had screwed up and taken damage! But I'm curious: at 10:31 and 13:41 how did you break through with only ONE knife thrust? Also how were you SO accurate without using an aiming reticle? Although maybe you DID use a reticle, but like the quick save "game saved" message and the curser in the pause menu, it just does not show? I must say it kind of pisses me off, because for me even using the aiming reticle, the mauser is VERY inaccurate without a scope! please don't anyone tell me it is ME who is a bad shot, that is simply not the case! (however WITH the scope it is VERY accurate! which is why I personally do not use the mauser until I have a scope for it!) So, what makes your game different? Seeing as how your mauser is apparently very accurate even without the scope?
If you take a look again at 10:31 and 13:41, I used the knife and a kick at the same time :) As for aiming without the reticle, I actually have a small piece of duct tape on my monitor for aiming. I remove the reticle because I believe it makes the gameplay more immersive. As for Mauser, the weapon is pretty accurate even without the scope from my experience. And due to a strange hit detection in RTCW you can hit enemies with it even if you aim slightly off target. Perhaps you play the console version and it works differently there? I play standard PC version from GoG.
I 💙 how the ammo counter is a different color depending on how much U have. White 4 maximum amount, yellow 4 average amount, & red 4 low amount. I wish more FPS's would do that more often.
I remember making a comment on your vid regarding New Colossus, head transplant didn't really phase me since all the weird shits already been going on in this game after the next. Lesson to be learned that in this game and Wolfenstein 2009, mundane technology will beats supernatural. And it's proven right in New Order and New Colossus that Deathsheads (the villain in 3 games) has nothing but skepticism for the supernatural nonsense of his colleagues. Given how little times he's seen it pay off, it's hard to blame him. By The New Order, the Nazis have stopped faffing around with magic and just let Deathshead do his thing with next to no oversight. It pays off.
so this one is an enhanced version of your old playthrough before, btw I played this game many years ago and this one is my first fps game with the classic cod modern warfare too
What mod are you using? My Game of the Year Edition was not even nearly that smooth. Have to admit: though I played it a lot, some of your pathes are new to me. Appreciate it. Also with great patience waiting for the "Return to castle Wolfenstein" mission in no demage version. It's really tough to do.
Y'know, I've always been curious. Have you mastered how to aim with mouse smoothing, or do you just have a huge mousepad with low sensitivity? Just somethin' that I've wondered about
Very nice video! Hats off just how much time you spent to perfect each level. I'd like to ask a few questions though, mainly about recording. I recently started to post walkthrough vids as a hobby and what do you know RtCW was one of the next on the list. I want to use OBS for recording and using Adobe Premiere Pro for editing, but I have 2 problems: first is that I can't record the intro of RtCW properly as the first few seconds are always completely black with audio, after that the rest of the video is fine but I can't figure out how to fix that. Second is that while I record at 1080p 60fps, TH-cam makes the recording uglier, mainly when I'm in motion in-game it has that "confetti/snowing" effect. It doesn't look terrible but it really annoys me when it looks so good on VLC player but not on YT. I don't mean to go professional in any way, I want to do these to kill time since the world decided to stand still, but if I do it I want to do it right.
About recording the RTCW intro, I had similar problem. Maybe try Display Capture instead of Game Capture in OBS, maybe that could help. The videos always look a bit worse on YT due to compression. What bitrate are you using for your recordings? And what video format? TH-cam recommends mp4 file type. Good luck with your channel and have fun :)
@@patologTV Thanks, I will :) I’ll try out display capture then, also I use mp4 format and tried all kinds of bitrates, from 10 Mbps to 50, but it doesn’t make a difference when I upload them to TH-cam. Also tried different encoders, NVENC and x264, different rate controls like CBR, CQP, but no matter what setting I use or even recording software (OBS or Nvidia ShadowPlay) the end product after upload is always the same. I’m left wondering if this is simply the best one can achive with 1080p 60fps on YT.
If I remember correctly, if you kill the left soldier first, the right one will notice that, but if you kill the right one first as I did, the other one will never notice that :)
I love your work Pato. There really is no other gaming TH-camr like you who does near flawless 100% walkthroughs. While many people are busy speedrunning games, there really is a very short supply of perfection gameplay channels and communities. Don't take this too seriously, but I was wondering, do you have any plans to do the Fergus Timelines for the other Wolfenstein games? I can totally see that you still have a lot on your list, but I felt like this is as good as time as any to bring this up. No pressure! Take your time! I have the patience. Do what you do best, at your pace and leisure. Happy new year! Stay safe and healthy!
patologTV That’s really good to hear! Thank you for replying! Again, take your time, one walkthrough at a time. If we can wait for Infinity War, Endgame, Cyberpunk 2077 and the end of 2020, then at this point, nothing seems too far away.
oh WOW i havent played this game since i was in school :D i had to check gog for the key but it wasnt to be found.... i had to use a vpn to even see it, screw bpjm ....
With this as precedent, is there a chance you'll be doing the DLC and such for Prey and Deus Ex? As far as I recall (though I could be wrong) you haven't yet done those. :P
I plan to play Prey: Mooncrash in the future, but not this year. As for Deus Ex, I did cover all DLC's for Human Revolution and Mankind Divided already :)

I’d recognize the late great Tony Jay’s voice anywhere! I was honestly surprised to hear him in this game. Not that I’m complaining, of course.
Amusingly, he isn't a villain this time around.

good job with the non-compulsive reloading ;)
the music is really good too, like straight out of raiders of the lost ark!
Even I don't think the music for 3D and The New Order is as largely memorable as this game's, which says a lot.

Given how little times he's seen it pay off, it's hard to blame him. By The New Order, the Nazis have stopped faffing around with magic and just let Deathshead do his thing with next to no oversight. It pays off.
Here's to hoping a Wolfenstein III cathartically subverts the lack of the supernatural.
Best game in series!
You should try doing 100% of RealRTCW (a mod/fan-made remake of RTCW) on realism difficulty. There are *plenties* of new features.
Thanks. Not a fan of such a mod though.
Happy 2021 Pato.
Happy New Year, Mike :)
@@patologTV Thank U, Pato.🤩🎆🎇✨
Love these games
so this one is an enhanced version of your old playthrough before, btw I played this game many years ago and this one is my first fps game with the classic cod modern warfare too
Now this is the good shit
Ah rtcw, my home turf (mostly played multiplayer though)
Including Enemy Territory?
Oh those memories...
I'm playing the GOG version with patch 1.42c by Knightmare. Link for the patch is in the description.
28:12 Looks like that Nazi had 1 2 many Berben.😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
@@michaelandreipalon359 At least he's not singing like 1 of the bandits in Metro 2033.
In my take, he was a Black Guard reject.
First Happy New Years Pato 🎆🎆🎆🎆🎆
Happy New Year mate 😊
@@patologTV I often wondered if this month or next there'll be some playthroughs on RPG's?
No plans for RPG games in the nearest future.
This came from the bottom of the chest.
Y'know, I've always been curious. Have you mastered how to aim with mouse smoothing, or do you just have a huge mousepad with low sensitivity?
Just somethin' that I've wondered about
I use a big mousepad and play with low sensitivity, like you said. I'm not using mouse smoothing in any game.
@@patologTV Neat. You always play like this casually or is it just for when you decide to record?
The director is voiced by Tony Jones AKA Frollo
@@patologTV Thanks, I will :)
I’ll try out display capture then, also I use mp4 format and tried all kinds of bitrates, from 10 Mbps to 50, but it doesn’t make a difference when I upload them to TH-cam.
@@patologTV Using display capture didn't help unfortunately, those first few seconds still remain like that.
18:59 Pretty sure his buddy would’ve noticed that.
If I remember correctly, if you kill the left soldier first, the right one will notice that, but if you kill the right one first as I did, the other one will never notice that :)
@@patologTVEither you’re really stealthy, or they’re just really stupid.
This game really needs a remake. happy new year pato
Happy New Year :)
@@michaelandreipalon359Yeah, no need 4 a remake.
A slight remaster should suffice. Extra emphasis, however, on "slight".
amazing :D
Well, I want to remake The New Order walkthrough at some point as well, so when I get to it, I will pick the Fergus timeline.
patologTV
That’s really good to hear! Thank you for replying! Again, take your time, one walkthrough at a time. If we can wait for Infinity War, Endgame, Cyberpunk 2077 and the end of 2020, then at this point, nothing seems too far away.
11:47 Is that that Dam from Mission 6?
good video
oh WOW i havent played this game since i was in school :D i had to check gog for the key but it wasnt to be found.... i had to use a vpn to even see it, screw bpjm ....
“Nazis. I hate these guys.”
Did you insert the subtitles yourself? sorry for my english.
Yeah, I did :)
❤️
With this as precedent, is there a chance you'll be doing the DLC and such for Prey and Deus Ex? As far as I recall (though I could be wrong) you haven't yet done those. :P
I plan to play Prey: Mooncrash in the future, but not this year. As for Deus Ex, I did cover all DLC's for Human Revolution and Mankind Divided already :)
Mooncrash would be a riot, but I have to watch the mainline run first.
Cool
What about Dishonored 2 Emily/High Chaos?
I will start releasing the Dishonored 2 videos the next week.
Can you upload saves for 64 bit version?
You Didnt Destroy The Radio,s , Flags Or Signs
I played this year's ago
And now try it with venom mod on hardest difficulty, without taking damage it is impossible. AI is so much harder.
Yeah, I think I'll pass on that one :)
So that's how u were supposed to play this game…… hmm……
Do you plan on playing realRTCW mod for this game?
In death incarnate theres more enemies right???
I think there is the same amount of enemies.
it's actually enemies are more alert and you will take more damage from them
Did you used some kind of source port please?
didn't you already play this?
There are many improvements in this new version, as I mentioned in the pinned comment.
Did you used a source port please?
I played the GOG version.
You ever going to do Youngblood?
No, I'm not going to play Youngblood.
Cute
