The fact that she designed her own earrings, and even her gown was inspired by her culture, show how she came ready and prepared to win. All the other girls just wore a beautiful gown to look beautiful. Catriona wore an impactful gown and that is why she was the standout starting from evening gown to the end. Because she shined like fire. It was original, unique, and everyone who watched live in the stadium were all amazed and knew she would make TOP 3. I was there!
how do you know none of the other gowns didn't have a back story to it though? But I agree that Catriona's gown, in my opinion, was definitely the most unique! Absolutely beautiful.
Tiffy no other candidate has ever done a gown as original and unique than the lava gown. There is a reason why the lava gown was the most copied gown in MU history. Even if you search it there are pageants around the world of girls that wore almost the exact same look. Catriona made an iconic mark. She did not just wear a gown, she was part in designing it. Look at Miss Universe 2019, notice some of the girls now wear ear clip pieces like Indonesia. I look back at all the Miss Universe contestants in history and nobody has ever worn an ear clip. Only Catriona was the very first. And look at the impact she made. Many girls are trying to do it now but with a different style. Even South Africa this year even mentioned her gown is inspired by the soil and water of Africa. Even Iceland said her gown represents ice from her country. See the impact? Catrionas reign is use inspiration from nature. Catriona used fire, lava, and volcano. All the girls are now following the trend Catriona made.

But I am asking you, how do you know that the other gowns the other contestants wore didn't have their own backstory or meaning to them? I am asking this out of respect to the other contestants and their dress designers. Just because their gowns didn't stand out as much as Cat's lava gown, doesn't mean that didn't have their own impact and meaning to their own country. You get what I'm trying to say?
