Good to see the 120 getting some love. I like the old deere machines. Not to say your Volvo is not nice and probably stronger and faster but the older machines just seemed to keep going and going with minimal stupid little problems where the new stuff always seem to have more numerous big problems once they get some hours on them. May be different for others but that's been my experience. Keep up the good videos!

Mike that's a bold idea to bore the weld . How are you going to turn the bar? You effectively have what looks like a 2" bore, and you are not going to turn that with anything short of a big mains powered drill with low ratio, and a long torque handle which is preferably stopped by something solid attached to the machine. i.e. not held by hand. You'll need to take tiny cuts, and you'll do way better using proper cutting lube like RTD. How hard are the rods Aaron used? I'm thinking you'll need to use HSS lathe tool because a carbide tool is not going to like the impacts. I am not totally sure about that. Hopefully the rods were soft and didn't harden and Aaron avoided nasty pockets of glass hard slag which will drive you mad needing to resharpen the tool every five minutes. Is the dimension between hole centres crucial? I imagine it has to match the quick release lugs on the attachments pretty closely.

Impressed by how easy the pins came out. How many hours does the machine have on it? Exceptional job of welding the quick coupler ( lots of boring welding, tedious). I'd suggest getting a longer stick to hold the camera, I could notice a few gray hairs when your cap came off. I'd suggest 6-8 feet. Lol. Just being a jerk.

I've done this on my backhoe a couple of times. I enjoyed watching this. How many hours are on that machine? I'm curious because I've got over 8,000 on my 315 (slightly bigger than your 120) and the only thing that seems loose (bearing/bushing wide) is the thumb. You're couple looks like a wedge lock pin grabber. I'm surprised to see any wear on it as the wedge should keep tension and prevent such wear. Not sure if there is much difference between Cat coupler and yours (what looks like PSM) but I've even run a hammer on mine and she's still tight! I also try to perform as much in house repairs as I can (has saved me a lot of money over the years) so I enjoy watching you do yours as well (particularly this one). Any thoughts on tightening up the house bearing/ring and pinion?

You just like showing off that overhead crane....😎 Not sure when you filmed this but might as well give it a new shot of paint while you are at it.

Aaron's a good man, takes verble beatings and just smiles. Troubles don't follow him as it is above his pay grade. Not everyone can be a owner operator an have a feeling he might a been there a while as he just jumps in an helps. Was they to shave two thirds the cost off one of those machines then more people would have one to do driveways and what not. Not so sure why clear down unless maintenance and other related stuff. Those can be so miserable to put together that you swear if it goes that you will never do it again as those shims and spacers are horrible. I have seen the heal bushings go bad but never on one in that good a shape. Each one of those pins are a company paycheck worth for cost. I hate to see one that has a bushing gone and not get fixed as the cost of new boom would be replacement price for the whole thing guessing
