  • Super puller 2.0! The puller so nice we made it twice! I think we got it this time! Right and left D4 sprocket removal on "Lil Lefty!" What started out small turns into a bigger project! We face the toughest challenge yet on the Cat crawler. We end up modifying our puller from the last video to accept a 50-ton jack! Will it get the job done? Most of the footage and time are cut due to the redundancy of the modifications to the puller. Overall, progress continues on the 1939 Cat D4 agricultural crawler. 4G9986 has never been so much fun and fulfilling. I hope you enjoy the shop talk, banter and commentary.
Used gopro and corel editing software in the creation of this video.
    Thanks for watching!

    Cat bombed video. 🙀
lol me too ... 12 years since I touched a stick welder, the rods had to have been12 years old, it took 12 hours and 12 lbs of rod to make a puller for 1 jack and 2 sprockets.

Congratulations! You guys have been working hard grinding, cutting, welding away to get those off…. and no one was hurt in the process.

When the first one came loose and popped, I jumped too. When the jack started leaking on the second one. All I could hear was Scotty from Star Trek saying ..." I'm giving er all she got Cap'n ... She can't take no more, she's break'n apart Cap'n" ....
      Cap'n Kerk: " I !.....
      Need !....
      .....
      More power !
      Bones: Damn it Jim ! I'm a doctor not a welder.😒
      🤣😂🤣😂

😂, I have to admit I jumped a bit myself. My wife did a bit of "selective" editing when that jack started leaking!

@@lifeafterourloss at least now everyone knows the price of admission to remove sprockets. One Hobo Freight 50ton jack.

So glad to see success on the sprocket removal! Those sprockets fought you tooth and nail to get to those bellows. Looking forward to what’s next ! Thanks for sharing

Outstanding!!!! I am glad you stepped up to a 50 ton Jack and not a 30 ton Jack. If that was a new Jack I hope they warranty it.

Me too! I'm out of luck on the warranty though.

Well that’s it nothing more to pull and now you won’t have any haunting thoughts on pulling the sprocket’s! It will be a complete restoration project and nothing less! To bad I was hoping that your Dad would get the chance to heat it up again!
Nice job guys good work 😀🇨🇦

Wow ! Wow ! Wow ! ...Excellent fabrication work. I hope you can get a replacement jack under warranty. 🙂 I had to use a 20 ton puller to remove a timing gear off the crank shaft of my 1926 Fordson, and I was nervous when you put all that pressure on ! Great video. Thank you.

The sprockets fought you back every inch. Rip 50 ton bottle jack you did your job well. Some of these bottle jacks don't like to be tilted sideways. I can see both sides have the billow seals blown out and I don't think grease in the final drives would save you from that leak.

Preheating that AR400 would have made a big difference. That heavy of lots takes a ton of heat and My old welder needs help.My rods are probably 40 years old but I still use them on projects, but I would buy new for anything critical.

      @lifeafterourloss  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

I didn't even think of preheating it. That definitely would have made the welding a lot easier.

1B486 😂 (The one before didn't work) would be a suitable part number for the puller. Thanks for watching!
