- Now that the new hdzero goggles are here i want to answer the question on everyone's mind "but can they freestyle?" well lets find out! this is also my first time flying betaflight in years and it has improved alot! i still hate vtx tables and i think its to much for freestyle quads but i may give it another go...

I do like the way it breaks up. Seems to be perfectly flyable even under bad conditions.
If I were hard pressed into HD right this second I'd go HD Zero just for the price, latency, and most importantly, the open source. If they made something entirely different next year you wouldn't have to worry about these being abandonware because the community could just keep iterating. That alone is huge but getting that at this price point is great.

NGL… this is probably best HDZero testimony/ break up testing in real work flying I’ve seen and it looks pretty damn good.

Awesome review. Still analogue on all my quads and always liked the "look" of digital but being A DJI or B no option to run analogue put me off. this unit with the adaptor will work with all my quads and I only need to equip one quad with a hdzero vtx n cam

I fly dji and really dislike them as a company, brand and the way they have you by the nuts and lock you in. Hdzero will be the way forward for me for all future builds.

Great review once again. The low price of analog is certainly a strong argument for it. It'd be cool if HDZero could put together bundles with the Freestyle VTX, Camera and a MIPI Cable at a discount, similar to the Vista or the whoop lite kits at some point. Hopefully his sales are strong with the killer new goggles and he can get manufacturing costs down.
They have bundles now and they lowered the price of the goggle by a 100$.

Does HDZero use quadversity? If so how does that compare to analog quadversity?
The price of analog is so cheap, i cant justify switching just to switch. That being said, whenever I do have to buy new goggles, they will definitely be HDZ.

i have never tried quadversity with analog so i cant really compare, and yeah one of my main reasons of sticking with analog is the price.
HDZero goggles also have analog support, just take your old module and put it in or spend extra $30.
Solid video, Bot! I totally respect your opinions on this, I am broke, and so, I fly analog. However, the higher resolution of HDZero appeals to me simply because I want to fly in nature. Little ghost branches are a serious challenge for me. Someday I will have more money and I will likely buy HDZero. Divimath's open-source approach is very appealing, fuck DJI... \m/

I’m about to do my first build and have been studying the hobby since October 2022. I’m waiting for my HDZero goggles and race bundle to ship. I got my RadioMaster Ranger ELRS module , bundled with a few RX, for my TX16s MKII a couple weeks ago. I’m looking at the QAV-R 2 frame for a general purpose sUAS to carry a GoPro and for recreational flying.
Does anyone here in the comments have suggestions for parts to help me finish my build? What is a solid choice of FC/ESC that is compatible with my parts? Will my frame choice work well for what I’m trying to do, or do you recommend something else?

the new hdzero goggle seems to have a lot of improvement from just the regular vrx module. i guess its time to kadush my dji equipment soon (well i freeze twice the video on these shit and even lost a quad in just 60m due to freezing)

Looks great bot. Not gonna run and plunk down $ bills for it yet, but if i broke my hdo2's i would. Let us know about durability of vtx. Time to go beat a quad to death. For the price of vtx's i need it to last. How easy is it to adjust the diopters or whatever you call the vision adjustment? Does the analog adapter come with?

Man, I'm kinda regretting buying the Avatars. It seems like the best all round combo is the HDZero goggle, analog module, and the walksnail vrx. At least for me seeing as how I have some of all three now. 😅

remember there are analog cameras that have >100ms latency. For example caddx turtle, or the lorax splitcam, any of those split HD/DVR cams have latency. The Split 3 is the only one that is normal analog latency.
I know you said no latency, but I have to ask. How does it compare with analog as far as latency goes. Did you feel any at all? Does it feel the same? I’m thinking about getting this. The fat sharks are crap in my opinion that latency kills me.

I don't like DJI as a company. I do have their system. And the O3 seems so great but I'd much rather throw my money in FPV companies that listen to us. HDzero and Walksnail.
