Happy Sunday morning, all! If you're interested in learning how to play this song on guitar, check out Toni's lesson! th-cam.com/video/QaaP5W4mklo/w-d-xo.html
Hi,I'm a huge music fan,In Dec I had a heart attack, fractured skull,,brain bleed,3 broken ribs, discovering your music has made me feel better and more relaxed, making a long recovery possible, thank you
I never ceased to be amazed by the lazyness of so many comments. Before you fire off something critical about "recorded elsewhere", etc. just read the complete bloody description that tells you up front that the audio was done in a studio and reenacted on location. Come on folks, your better than this! That said....it's a wonderful cover.
It took me a moment to realize Toni was playing the Bass Drum. Do you realize how good you have to be to finger-pick and play a drum at the same time? She's becoming Wrecking Crew good.
It was recorded in the studio and while it may well have been done in one take, all together, it could just as easily have been multitracked with all the parts, including the bass drum, played separately. Regardless of how it was recorded, this is a fine cover and Toni is an excellent musician.
Over and over, again... and keep coming back... Lots of great covers out there, of a great, great song... but for certain moods, this one is at the top.
i am from china not sure how to express the feeling when i hear this song after 4 times, maybe i can say purely comfortable and love it love it love it
Music is UNIVERSAL Language!!! I love watching Asian Music & Dance Videos! Have you ever seen Music Videos from the Playing for Change - InterNational Live Music ...maybe someday, China can be free and Chinese Musicians Play LIVE with Americans?
The best yet. I like this better than original. Toni is so smooth on that guitar. It just fills the air with sweetness. Elle’s voice , tone, timing is something to behold. It’s captivating.
I think this is my favorite song. My dad and I would sing this on the way home from school all the time. “Grab your things I’ve come to take you home”, classic dad joke. Graduated high school last May, college is all online don’t get to sing in the car with him anymore. Can’t wait til this pandemic is finally over. This is a lovely cover.
As a father with kids finished with college and well into adult life, I approve of this sentiment. You should show it to your Dad. He'll be touched. May you have many years of drives with your father.
I was a huge Genesis fan in high school in the 70s. Saw Peter Gabriel’s fist solo tour at the Troubadour in LA when I was 17. He played this song. You all did it justice. Beautiful cover. I am sure if Peter sees this he will be honored. You all are amazing. Thanks for sharing your art with us. Hugs from New Zealand.
Great cover, was also watching this whilst actually sat on Solsbury Hill on a cold but sunny winters day. Have lived opposite Little Solsbury Hill for 64 years and have regularly walked up it and actually met Peter there many years ago.
I have never really been a big Peter Gabriel fan. But this goes to show, a good song in someone else's hands can bring it life. And, of course, these gals (and guy) seem to bring every song they touch to new life.
Search for a band named Còig, from Nova Scotia, Canada. I love their version and have had the pleasure of seeing them perform it live. It's also featured on their CD, Rove.
This is a paradigmatic example of why your videos are one of my "antidotes" to the sadness and isolation of the pandemic era in which we currently live; superb musicians, excellent video production and often suprising song choices. Never in my life would I have imagined that you would have covered a song like this, though. Thank you for the joy that you bring to me every Sunday and other days during the week. I have dreams of going to see your future concert with The Other Favorites at the Beacon Theater or Radio City Music Hall in NYC or maybe on the moon since you performed so wonderfully during your fantastic streamed concert in space 😊🎼🎵🎶🎸🚀❤
Ever since I was little my dad would play me this song and tell me of the way it reminded him of his own father. Now whenever I hear it i think of my dad - he’s passed it onto me. This is such a special song to me - so hearing this just filled my heart. What a beautiful cover - thank you for sharing this with the world 💕
I've listened to Peter Gabriel for many years, only recently hearing the iconic nature of his personal sound. This song is perhaps a burnt in place memory of "home," the intent of the song of "grab your things, I've come to take you home" never stops grabbing the heart strings. Note strong connections to "emotional content" of the word "home." Songwriters, pick good, hot words that connect the listener to emotions.
One of the sweetest tunes of my youth. You folks did an excellent job covering it. I loved the melody. And glad you kept that part of it. Very cool and Mahalo for sharing this. Aloha🤙🏾🎼🎶🎵
The one flaw that I can see is that they had Alana _behind_ the camera. I remember her previous appearance in front of the camera very clearly and I want it to happen more.
You and Toni make a very good team. You're my favorite kind of music! Authentic musicians. I can hear every words and clear sound of each instruments, not just a bunch of noise.
Used to play on Mt Tam looking out at Stinson Beach play guitar and bass drum with mt foot and guitar partner Phil. Phil gone now and old but still playing. Let the music keep you young....
I had to listen 10 times to your cover to understand why I like it so much. First of all, great song choice and beautiful cover ! The difference between the original and your cover is the kind of energy coming from the song. The PG's version is more linked to motion energy, your cover is more linked to fragility, a little as if Paul Simon interpreted it. You did a great job in Paul Simonizing Solsbury Hill, I love it. Congratulations to everyone involved in this little gem .
Playing it with bass keyboard and full drums lends itself to a pulsing, intense rendition. It's hard to replicate that with sa stripped down acoustic performance. I'm just learning this for solo guitar and this arrangement is a big help in getting a feel of another way it can be successfully performed.
Yes Garbriel's phrasing on the vocals and metre of the lyrics are very knotty and difficult to sing. This performance is wonderful. I have watched it many times.
I just found you in Jul '23. If you ever released a CD of your covers I'd buy it in a heartbeat and add it to my daily listening mix. Your harmonies and arrangements are so very smooth and relaxing, your energies fun and engaging. Kudos!
I must admit that I was never a fan of this song, but your version is absolutely fantastic. Your voice is perfectly suited to the song and the instrumental work was, as always, amazing. Thanks again. Happy Sunday.
Hi I was on Solsbury Hill near Batheaston in Somerset UK in 1978, and until today I love this song from Peter! I heared a lot of covers, but yours is the best, thx a lot!
I keep coming back to this version, liking it more than the more decorated original. This is simpler and purer- and a better way, I think, of expressing the spiritual experience described in the song.
Excellent cover all of you. Reina beautiful voice as always. Toni.................incredible musicianship, as a player I know what you are doing and few could do it so well.
The lyrics of this song are so poignant given the place and time Mr Gabriel had come from just before making this. Love the song and as usual their wonder interpretations.
I haven't listened to or made music for a long time. Music makes you long for things you know you can't have. You guys might just have turned me around. 😃
O. M. G. the Landscape behind is so beautiful .... the river ... the plain .... the sky .... it's paradise. The music and the musicians are just perfect. Thanks a lot for sharing good thing like this. I love you all.
You must be very happy with this performance; you look completely at peace with the world. It's one of the best covers I've ever heard. Even better than the original.
I'm an old(ish) musician and long time fan of Genesis when PG was a member. This is, without doubt, my favourite song, it resonates with times in my life and makes it a song in my heart. You guys totally nailed it, I love this version, Reina your voice fits perfectly with your production. Toni as always is a fab guitarist and as if keeping that riff going isn't enough, she plays the bass drum. Thanks for making my day.

Thank you girls. You make our Sunday better :D
There's also another beautiful song : "The book of love "🕊🌻👸❤
Thanks Reina, thanks for all the great music. I love this cover.
It's certainly much better now! This recording is just fantastic.
if Reina doesn't exist it would be necessary to invent her

You are right on. Any fool knows that the wind on a bluff over the Pacific would make impossible to record or hear the beautiful voice and music.
Of course it was a reenactment of THEIR OWN studio recording! Thats why it sounds so good!
It's a music video. This is how you do one. Record the track and then figure out the visual. Two separate things. And very well done.
It took me a moment to realize Toni was playing the Bass Drum. Do you realize how good you have to be to finger-pick and play a drum at the same time? She's becoming Wrecking Crew good.
7/4 time to boot!
“Wrecking Crew good”. Now that’s a great (and accurate) compliment.
She's a one person wrecking crew.!
It was recorded in the studio and while it may well have been done in one take, all together, it could just as easily have been multitracked with all the parts, including the bass drum, played separately. Regardless of how it was recorded, this is a fine cover and Toni is an excellent musician.
@@ParaBellum2024 no argument, but she is playing both in the video and we could tell if she wasn't keeping time correctly. I really am impressed.
That line, ’walked out of the machinery’, it gives me goosebumps
As a young soldier in 1980 this song took me back to when I was on a wheat and sheep farm.
I can't even tell you how many times I've watched this one.
Me too. I love it. So talented, simple and sincere.
@@Kindheart93 And so, I listen again...
Over and over, again... and keep coming back... Lots of great covers out there, of a great, great song... but for certain moods, this one is at the top.
My Cousin Jonas from Sweden loved this song. He passed away a month ago; he was a brilliant man. He would have loved this cover. Thanks.

used to walk up Solsbury hill often, just outside Bath England, and sang that song up there, great version.
My heart also goes boom boom boom when you and Toni crank out a great song
Had to listen had no choice, 100 times so far.
These two ladies with 2 guitars make a lot of beautiful music! So much control over range in her vocals. Awesome
Her vocals are so sweet.
I think this is my favorite song. My dad and I would sing this on the way home from school all the time. “Grab your things I’ve come to take you home”, classic dad joke. Beautiful comment about a song that never meant much to another kids Dad, till now!
I am a Dad and am guilty of the same dad joke, to much eye-rolling from my daughter.
Hope your Dad gets to take you and pick you up from college soon.

I was thinking the same thing
He played The Roxy on Sunset for his first couple solo tours. One of the best concert experiences of my life!
Wow !
It's a beautiful, simple, strangely difficult song to sing and play at the same time. Good work!
Solsbury Hill, Wildflowers & Harvest Moon are all awesome covers..Luv em...Che,xxx

Your voice was made for this song...lovely tone
That composition fits your style perfectly. I like it just as much today as a year ago.
Boom boom goes the heart when you ladies play Tonight bringing new meaning to the foot tap loved it
Takes me back to 77 when I was a Marine Engineer at sea. Love this cover 🎶
the vocals really shine on this song
I could just listen to this on a loop over and over for an hour... in fact, I just did :-)
Hiking up a hill with an upright bass, two guitars, drum and camera is quite a feat. Brilliant music as always
The one flaw that I can see is that they had Alana _behind_ the camera. I remember her previous appearance in front of the camera very clearly and I want it to happen more.
It's like to listen out of the mixing desk
Complete transparency Amazing
You and Toni make a very good team. You're my favorite kind of music! Authentic musicians. I can hear every words and clear sound of each instruments, not just a bunch of noise.
A VERY hard song to cover. Your version captures the spirit of the original better than any I've ever heard, including Peter's live version.

Hi from England. What a lovely song, sung and played beautifully. It made me feel good and peaceful. Thank you nice people.
Very nostalgic song for me. My dad loves Peter Gabriel. Played it a lot when I was younger

I love this so much, such an English song with such an an American angle... perfect
There is something between Reina's voice and Tori's anchor that is beyond us mortals.
"Solsbury Hill" has been my favorite song since 1983, through dozens of cycles of loss and joy. You do it great justice.
