  • Lauren Johnson was 26 when she was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Her white blood cell counts were so high, she was told she'd have to start chemotherapy right away.
Here, she bears all, from talking about undergoing chemotherapies, long hospital stays, multiple bone marrow biopsies and spinal taps, and getting through the emotional and mental lows. Time codes are below. For her full story, also visit: www.thepatientstory.com/cancers/leukemia

I’ve been watching your videos. So nervous right now. Went to the hematologist yesterday and they mentioned some sort of leukemia I could have but I might not have it. My WBC was fine but my monocytes were very high. I’m praying I’m okay. I don’t know what I’m gonna do if I have leukemia. I’ve got a lot of anxiety over it.

Hi there, so sorry for just getting to you. I underwent this process and ended up getting diagnosed with a lymphoma but all I knew was to just let the tests come out before thinking too much about it (so much easier said than done!). Just know you are far from alone, and give yourself some grace. Anxiety is a very real part of this. Thinking of you and hoping you get good news. ❤️ Stephanie

So sad 😞 she is going through Cancer and all the painful awful side effects - plus she has kids and a household to manage - then her husband decides to leave the marriage. Terrible behaviour. Unimaginable.
