Nice, they used SD650 on redmi note 3 which had a great single core performance (almost twice), then went with SD625 on redmi note 4, with weaker GPU and single core CPU, and now again SD625 with even higher resolution screen (FHD+) resulting in even lower GPU performance. It means their 2 year old phone is faster than the phone they launched today.
They are damaging their brand image really badly. They could have definitely done better. Moreover I wonder for how long Qualcomm will support SD625 with drivers for newer android versions, Redmi Note 5 is already old at launch.

this time it will be tough with nokia 6 having usb type C fast charger and snapdragon 630 with 4/64 and much better design at the same price ... only 18:9 vs 16:9 but ... nokia 6 is smaller than note 5 so that can be a deciding feature.

Redmi note 5 = 625 Snapdragon
650 was made on 28nm but 625 is made on 14nm and its hence more battery and power efficient.

What u said describes Redmi note 4, that was truly value for money, but note 5 is stupid, wanna know how ?? I am typing this on a phone that has dual camera, with front camera of 8mp with flash and Dolby Atmos, gorilla glass 3, 3 GB ram and 32 GB internal and I bought it for 8k. Yes 8k. Lenovo k8 plus. U will throw 12k on this and still miss out on those. Features, it doesn't even has a notification light.

Bcuz after looking at the camera samples you've shown the photos in natural lighting conditions were fairly decent but the photos in dim lighting condition had a lot of noise might even give a unusable photo in dark conditions

DO NOT buy Xiaomi phones as I faced problems of motherboard only after 1and half year. when I visited Mi service center, they gave me estimate of rupees 5400 estimate. When I asked that why this problem occured so their reply was, Motherboard problem is common on redmi note 4. so i asked why xiaomi did not extend warrenty on motherboad for its users if you already found out that there is a problem on Motherboad for this model. to that query they did not have any reply. so now we dont know on which phones there is a problem of motherboard. specs will be good but what about the quality at longer duration? so better is to go for some other good brands.
Same as Note 4... Without a doubt it will sell well but Idk if the note 4 users will upgrade to get the same specs but diff. screen... That's a downgrade I should say. I was hoping for at least a dual camera for the Note 5...and Note 5 Pro looks exactly like iPhone X with the camera placement...C'mon, Xiaomi can do better than this. Kinda disappointed..Looks like they've rushed a bit to release something which is unique for the users. If I look at the phones it would take time to know which brand the phone is because every single phones now a days looks the same. There's no originality except for some few brands.

Camera is always poor in redmi phones. Better buy honor 9i lite or honor 7x. Navigation buttons should have been physical since there is lot of space beneath the bottom of the screen.

Xaomi is fooling the customers by saying BIG SCREEN in same BODY SIZE. This Note 5 series is insanely 158 mm in length. Note 4 was 151 mm only. Then how is it the same body size????? Bezels are not much different. They are still prominent. Poor design. It is annoying to carry these stupidly long phones in the pocket. It would have been better if they reduced the size of screen to 5.7" FHD and kept the dimensions (length) of the device in check. Reduce the bezels for a compact phone with big screen. Not just increase the device in length and say 18:9 aspect ratio. BAD phone. BIG phone.
