Great way to get ahead of yourself and get bogged down. Get your lessons at a more reasonable pace, drill and practice between lessons to hone skill. The knowledge won't do you much good if you're not doing the necessary exercises and proper stretches, and putting in time at the keyboard. If your head gets ahead of your hands, it'll only leave you frustrated. Patience is a virtue.

When singing this song, it's very important to realise that "God rest ye merry" is the complete clause, not "God rest ye". The meaning of the line is an exhortation that people would remain merry because of God's presence in their lives, and it is not a wish that God should give rest to merry people. IOW, it's not "God rest ye, merry gentlemen" but "God rest ye merry, gentlemen".
