Loving the videos! I’m primarily a freshwater bass fisherman but I’m in town visiting and trying to get after a few reds! Hopefully I’ll find a few before heading out!
I hope you were able to find some! It can be difficult in December but they are around and eating! I think I’m going to hit up some bass lakes this spring! Thanks for watching!
@ didn’t have any luck but still enjoyed it! If you end up near Lake Chickamauga give me a shout and I’ll give you some info. I also have tons of videos on here of fishing it. Thanks again!
These was their 3.5” version. I found conflicting info online but weighing on a digital scale around 10.5 grams, so 3/8 for the 3.5” . Their 5” ones say will be 1/2oz online
I know EXACTLY where you're fishing, boss. 🤐 I was up a bit further in that area off the river on Saturday. Got out there right at 1:30pm and put a hurting on the juvenile specks. Was using a curly tail swim bait.... clearly should've been using a shrimp lure! 😅 great video!
I typically use 18-24” of 20# fluorocarbon leader uni to uni line connection and on a lure like this I’ll use a loop knot. In the winter with clear cold water I’ll go down to 15 # leader.
Hello! I’m an angler up in NC, and I just got some of these lures. I’ve been watching this video on repeat trying to understand how to retrieve this lure, as I typically fish with paddle tails and jerk shad plastics, never really with shrimp imitations. How do you typically retrieve this lure, and does it vary by species?
I’ll typically run a lure like this on about 18” of fluorocarbon. F/g line to line connection to braid. Small loop knot to the lure. While I’m out fishing and I break off, I’ll often just go straight to braid with a quick palomar and get back to fishing. If im on the water and I do a line to line knot I’ll do a uni to uni.

I live in Charleston and can NEVER catch fish when I go :) Appreciate the tips!
It can be difficult. After moving from Arizona it took me a couple years to be really consistent

Awesome! I fish there out of convenience not because it’s any better than anywhere else. Curly tail is always a solid choice!
Do you use Leader and swivel or strait tie on? what kind of braid poundage for founder & reds?
I typically use 18-24” of 20# fluorocarbon leader uni to uni line connection and on a lure like this I’ll use a loop knot. In the winter with clear cold water I’ll go down to 15 # leader.
When the fishing is good and I break off I’ll just tie right to the braid and send it!

Pending! I just recorded a full length video answering your question in detail. Hope to have the vid posted in next couple days!
Were you running those straight to braid? No leader? Or only no leader after you got broke off?
