My family owned a VHS copy of The Heavenly Kid growing up, and I later found out that no one else has ever heard of this movie.
That's so awesome! It's a great movie and its sucks that not more people have heard/seen it, just got lost in time. That's why it had to be in this vid 😂
My sister taped it off HBO. I remember watching it over and over again. Recently found it on Roku (I think), and got totally stuck on it for about a week. LOL
Heavenly Kid was very popular when I was a kid,very well known movie IMO

I haven't heard of most of these movies, but now I am so excited to give them a try! I'm always down for any new 80s movie I haven't seen. Also, any movie that uses Broken Wings by Mister Mister is going to go straight to my watch list.

You really need to check out the movie The last American Virgin it came out in 1982 its seriously a must watch if you haven't seen it yet, its just like Fast times at Ridgemont High but better and has an amazing soundtrack, hope you watch it.

I grew up with The Heavenly Kid. Always enjoyed it & yea awesome soundtrack. I managed to turn it on to a few friends but oh man It Takes Two (88) no one takes about this film. I first saw it late one night on tv & loved it. Again great soundtrack & idk there’s just something about this film. I might be it feels a bit dream like in a few places & sports car. Boys & there toys. A unseen 80’s gem for me is Spellbinder 1988 with Kelly Preston if you get the chance. Cheers

Love nite of the comet and earth girls are easy. Personally i think “They Live” is one that should be on there. But to me my #1 80’s movie hands down is “Barry Gordy’s The Last Dragon” . Have it on dvd to this day.

The 80s were filled with "One Magic Night" movies with varying budgets. You could do a whole post on just this plot alone. They were usually fun because if you did not like the situation it would change in about five minutes. They were also filled with supernatural themes like The Heavenly Kid, and I suggest you watch "Date With an Angel" (1987) with Phoebe Cates, Michael E. Knight & Emmanuelle Béart.

One movie I recommend that I never hear anyone talk about is My Best Friend Is A Vampire. Plotwise I'd say it's like Fright Night, not as good but enjoyable. Another interesting plot point is the parents in the movie are ready to accept their son as they think he's gay, no slurs thrown or anything, which is something for the time.
I swear I've heard of My Best Friend Is A Vampire, adding that to my Watchlist and I'll definitely give it a go when I can, thank you! Oh, thank gosh, an 80s movies without the gay slurs 🤣

I remember heavenly kid! hadn't seen or heard about it in ages but i remember liking it. I believe last time i saw it was probably mid 90s on TV.

Fraggle Rock if you watched it in the U.K. or bought the U.K. DVD's the old man and his dog are in a light house. I bought the U.K. DVD's from Ebay and I have a DVD player that plays PAL. Also you can play them on the PC. Also if you rip a DVD you can and encode the files out you can load them on a video game console and maybe another device and it will let you play them on a North America TV.

"Band of the Hand" was actually a cool movie; "Night of the Comet" (1984) = it is realistic in one way; there are many abandoned shopping malls now (in different spots around the entire continental U.S.). A sad day for shoppers (I blame online shopping: Amazon/(Jeff) Bezos, Netflix (no more Blockbuster Video (rental stores); there are no more Borders Books and Music, Toys "R" Us, Kaybee Toys (and Hobby store), Waldenbooks, Kmart/Sears (Roebuck); MP3's (Metallica music on Napster) or big box stores (Sam's Club, Costco, Walmart), which helped speed the process, of record stores (like Tower Records or Sam Goody's) closing down. "The Fly" horror/drama/sci-fi film starred both: Geena Davis and Jeff Goldblum...
May I also recommend The All Nighter (Susannah Hoffs, Joan Cusack, Deedee Pfeiffer), River's Edge (Keanu Reeves, Crispin Glover, Ione Skye Leitch, Daniel Roebuck), A Night in the Life of Jimmy Reardon (River Phoenix, Matthew Perry, Ione Skye Leitch, and Meredith Salenger), and She's Out of Control (Tony Danza, Ami Dolenz, Matthew Perry, Wallace Shawn)? Okay, I think I just planned my Saturday.
