I started playing the game 9 months ago, my first two champions were Ziggs and Heimerdinger... but the first time i saw Orianna it was like love at first sight... of course i was playing just normals and against other new people. But the first game with her i went like 17-1-18 or something like that. So i looked for some guide video... And i found this and it was so helpful for me. I stopped playing for 2 months but now that i'm playing again i decide to watch this video for second time. Hey coach, great video i love ur vids, I would love to see an updated Fizz guide! I swear the champ hasnt been getting much attention recently unfortunately.
Hey Coach, I am a Master/Grandmaster EUW Midlane main who mostly plays Orianna. Due to the recent meta of AD midlaners, I have really been struggling to play. Since this video is a little older, you did not cover matchups such as Tristana, Corki, Ezreal, or Lucian. What do you recommend when playing into these champions? It's impossible to play aggressively because you just get stat-checked, and keeping the wave in a conservative position is also hard due to the insane waveclear of these AD champions. I feel like Orianna just always permanently loses prio in these matchups, and it's hard to play the midgame due to being stuck in the sidelane. If you try to play for neutral objectives, the enemy AD mid just takes T1 and T2 towers for free. Any thoughts on this? Thank you very much!
This video is gonna be very helpful as I was looking for another champion to main. I think Orianna's gonna be a good choice. Will edit this comment when I get to m7 👌🏻😂 So I was Emerald II this morning, been playing her in ranked with some friends and I got to Diamond IV noice, I hope I can reach Diamond II or I this season! (Watched almost all guide)
Im Gold, still think its worth for Gold Players to watch this Video, really dont understand why you said that in the beginning, its a great guide for me as well!
Hi Curtis, what's your opinion on future's market? I love using it because it gives me an unexpected item advantage allowing me to snowball, but I never see it recommended, any idea why?
Hi Curtis, in your BBC podcast this week you mentioned "yesterday on my stream" but I notice you have no vods on your twitch channel. I was wondering where I can catch these streams
Coming from your Old guide, i always had this question in mind Will she always be good in No matter meta or does meta rule still, apply, starting to get some Nice results in flex! I was thinking of using her on the next season as well!
Great video bro. I have a question, I always try to position myself behind minions to cover myself, but for example, against champs like Quinn and Yone, one ability from them is enough to get close to me and get my hp in half, that really frustrates me because it's almost impossible to farm with that low hp. I would like to know what you can tell me about positioniing more specifically, thank you very much.
If you're playing a ranged chap into Yone is fairly easy to avoid his damage. Position to the side of the wave making him choose between you or the wave and respect his Q3. Whenever he has it, move away to his max range and then go back to pressure whenever it runs out. If he has Q3+E is the same thing, only you have to back away even further. It's basically a dance. You pressure him whenever his Q3 and/or E are down and you respect him when he has them available. If he wastes all of his abilities on the wave or misses on you you can basically run him down and chunk him or kill him
Great guide, thank you so much for your great in depth content! I have two questions: - Your thoughts on ROA and Crown? The latter one I see quite regularly in pro play. - 3 points in W is because the base damage increase ist very efficient until lvl 3 and you can guarantee the damage better than with Q?
You're probably thinking of Faker picking crown into Vi+Syndra. Vi+Syndra will literally 100-0 orianna if Vi gets R off, because syndra's optimized full combo post first item deals orianna's entire healthbar, and Vi R guarantees it.
Never build ROA, not worth it, doesn't give any AH and too slow. Crown is good situationally vs HEAVY dive when you simply cannot survive with another mythic. I prefer Crown over ROA due to it giving Haste
Amazing videos! Just had one question, for an example you are beating your opponent out of lane but not killing them and you get a good base off. Should you look towards full buying full boots or if you are ahead is it better just to rush ludens? Also what about when losing lane should I be looking for full boots or just saving for item?
Well, sorcs is more upfront damage then LC, BUT LC gives you more AH and mana, so if you are looking to really push the lane pace, sorcs is best, If you are looking to slowly get control LC is better
My favorite is putting ball on Rengars, having them jump attack, and run away as the Ult sombreros nothing. And for that reason, I don’t trust the delivery service.
What about getting futures market and starting mana crystal refill pot against other longer ranged control mages. Getting the lost chapter and tping back to lane super early will let you bully and constantly have the push advantage on yhe enemy letting you have prio and bassically beating them through war of attrition. I think ls had a similar video on this concept.
ROA for Orianna is not worth it. Gives no haste, and ori really enjoys LC. Also ontop of that if you need durability, just go for the seraphs second item
You do see comet picked sometimes vs some champions if Orianna can get away with it. There's a few reasons for aery: The cooldown is much lower generally speaking, it applies to auto attacks, it can't be dodged and as a side bonus later in the game it also gives you a bigger shield on allies. For example, you would not want comet vs a Yasuo because his whole identity is dashing through minions so he will dodge the comet without trying.
Hey man, is it common to have low DPS numbers as Oriana, or should you generally be in the middle of the pack? I find it hard to put out DPS, and also playing the game like a survival horror game at the same time.
Hey! I am an emerald player who is trying to learn Ori. Where I find I struggle is when I’m into an assassin and my adc wants to swap mid. I find I am forced onto side and end up dying to them and my lead is completely gone. How to deal with this?
I am still a new orianna but my friend is a good jungler and adc so i play mid and support orianna maxing e, i feel like she is a great enabler and i want to flesh out that playstyle more any tips
Hey curtis! I have a question about the builds. I'm currently spamming alot of Ludens into seraphs. Except when i get a 1250g back i'll tend to buy needlessly large rod first and then ill see if i can get deathcap 2nd if i get another good 1250g back. Is that a good idea or is it still better to go the ludens seraphs build?
Very supprised to hear you say when to max q and when w. Q is more efficient dmg/mana. So if you can get it off reliably, it is simply better. Against xerath, Syndra and neeko where you are typically can’t get off multiple q’s in a row you need bigger hits so max W. I don’t understand your reasoning to do the opposite.
Hey Curtis. On Ori I always fall into the trap of over trading on D.Shield + Second Wind users, which you mentioned in this guide. If I focus on farming with Ori in these matchups, will I generally be able to get priority? These are generally short range melee assassins I struggle against, like Akali and Yasuo. Thanks for the video!
In the early game not really no. If you verse an Akali with fleet+dorans shield they CAN shove you in if they want to. Yasuo will also always have that early wave control. Same for many other of these matchups e.g. Tryn etc. You'll usually just try to have wave on your side and farm up until those key spikes
@@CoachCurtis That makes a lot of sense. Then I assume you just prioritize keeping yourself alive and topped up on farm, responding to movement where you can.
Hi hi! Idk if anyone asked this already, but I've been seeing a lot of comet ori, where would this make sense and what do u guys think abt it vs aery/phase ?
This 23:00 ori vs jayce matchup example is a bit weird to use imo when the jayce is clearly terrible at the champion and matchup. He's literally E'ing first at max range, then using Q. Q+E is a gold-level combo that EVERY jayce player should be able to do.
how much does it cost me for you to review a game with me? im a Diamond midlane main with quite a big champion pool. but ive always had the most succes on orianna. yet i cant climb past D1. im on EUW and my name is RR Skycold in case u want to check it. (currently im only D3 but ill get back) ive peaked D1 in 2 seasons but cant get to masters just yet. How much does it cost to review a game with me? i realllly wanna get to my goal someday and i feel like i can get there. just need a little help
the build and rune is so suboptimal its funny. no way you recommend people to build tear on ori, phase rush + scorch. not talking about crown... hahaha
Can you explain why tear is bad on ori? And he recommended aery + scorch not phase rush + scorch. I do agree on neglecting crown… would you take resolve secondary with a crown build (akali/talon etc) or is it not needed?
@@alexanders7251) w is way too cheap 2) it’s too expensive 3) there’s other defense that does a better job 4) having to buy a tear slows u down too much

@@ATGoldV thank you 🙏 makes a lot of sense didn’t know Aery applied to auto attacks
Hey man, is it common to have low DPS numbers as Oriana, or should you generally be in the middle of the pack? I find it hard to put out DPS, and also playing the game like a survival horror game at the same time.
Don't worry too much about DPS numbers, not an overly great metric
Hey! I am an emerald player who is trying to learn Ori. Where I find I struggle is when I’m into an assassin and my adc wants to swap mid. I find I am forced onto side and end up dying to them and my lead is completely gone. How to deal with this?
Zed next bro!!
I am still a new orianna but my friend is a good jungler and adc so i play mid and support orianna maxing e, i feel like she is a great enabler and i want to flesh out that playstyle more any tips
Why is level 7 important over lvl 6?
IT really depends on how important the durability is for you in this game. If you don't need the shielding/durability then for sure
Spot on!@@GoldenfriendQ
anivia guide when
Hi hi! Idk if anyone asked this already, but I've been seeing a lot of comet ori, where would this make sense and what do u guys think abt it vs aery/phase ?
NICE!
Can i play orianna adc?
1:10:08 yasuo is common in every elo bracket
This 23:00 ori vs jayce matchup example is a bit weird to use imo when the jayce is clearly terrible at the champion and matchup. He's literally E'ing first at max range, then using Q. Q+E is a gold-level combo that EVERY jayce player should be able to do.
True he was not great at the champ, it still plays out the same way regardless though
@@CoachCurtis overall great video though!
and another day where i will keep asking, curtis where is my veigar and aurelion sol guide :(
They are in the MLS program NOT on YT
half of the junglers in plat would let me die 1v1 to bel beth

I’ve never heard anyone say “el Classico” so much lol is this a thing

(currently im only D3 but ill get back) ive peaked D1 in 2 seasons but cant get to masters just yet. How much does it cost to review a game with me? i realllly wanna get to my goal someday and i feel like i can get there. just need a little help
$30US , check the site in the description
CASSIO EASY MATCH UP IS CAP
malphite mid destroys orianna
the build and rune is so suboptimal its funny. no way you recommend people to build tear on ori, phase rush + scorch. not talking about crown...
