Is that the only way to replace the heater core? My daughter’s 2012 Soul blows warm heat. I replaced the water pump and thermostat this year around summer. Last week was really cold here in Massachusetts, she says heat isn’t hot. It looks like it could be the heater core. I’m not really ready to put in all that work😢
Yes , if it is in fact leaking it needs to be replaced. Unfortunately these leaking heater cores seem common with Kia Soul. It seems like a lot of steps replacing one , but it is not hard work , just time consuming. Thank you for watching.
Wow. You are amazing! You did such a comprehensive video of the entire process. I’m guessing $1000 is low for having a dealer do it. Plus I would be scared they would mess something else up when they put it back together. Did you try putting a can of sealant into the coolant before going to all this trouble? Would that work. Thanks so much
On some cars they atleast have removable tubes , which allows it to be removed a lot of times without taking the hvac box out. Seems especially bad on this car because you can see the heater core after just removing one panel , but still knowing there is no way to get it out easily. Thanks as always for watching , I appreciate the feedback.
Thank you for the video. I've never pulled a dash, and you removed mystery of how to.
Thanks for the great feedback.

There are usually 3 things : leaking heater core, plugged evap ac drain hose, leaking sun roof . ( plugged drain hose ) . Hope this helps.

If you take a hair dryer and heat the hoses, they come off rather easily.
Very good job 👍. 🫡
I appreciate the feedback!
WOW! this is some nasty design ... these engineers really have absolutely no common sense ... great job!!!👍👍
