    I just yesterday walked in the house and this exact same 65 engine was sitting on my kitchen table with a note from a friend.
    I think mine needs bearings to.
    Wow what a beautiful piece
    It’s so sweet I’m so happy
    Horizon may have parts for this. Wouldn’t that be epic 😊👍

    Hi Dave, I reuse my Citrus oil even when brown like that, let it sit overnight then filter it through a drip coffee filter paper and its almost looking like new again.

      Well for the price you payfor it in Australia I don't blame you. I don't bother filtering mine, I just use it until I can't stand it anymore. I can get those 64 fl oz refill bottles for $1 at numerous locations near my house. Still waiting on some parts before I get back to finishing this engine up. Bearings should be in tomorrow, but the spacers for the timing gear I am waiting for a buddy to mail to me. Nothing yet,...

      Oh thats right, I forgot the stuff is soo cheap there, I may have found another supplier here, still around $20 a liter that's around $15 USD a quart.

    At around 10:00 mins you said that you took the ring off. I sure would like to see how you did that and watch you putting it back on and hearing all the teaching you could relate. I did some searching and couldn't find if you had done a video on that. I did find some guy that talked about some gasoline (26cc??) engine and he talked about some pin and some ring gap. I don't know about that stuff, but would love to learn about nitro engines, please and thank you - Richard

      I am in NO way an expert in replacing piston rings. I have only the found the need to do it a couple of times and even then I probably didn't do it right. But I do have videos of doing it.

    Good afternoon friend,
    would you have a video showing how to put a bi-hydro saito engine at the point?

    • @dmrcflyr2
      @dmrcflyr2  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have no idea what bi-hydro Saito is. So I guess the answer is no.

    Hi David. I'm really enjoying your videos. I have an old 65GK that quit on me. After tearing it down (knowing nothing about these engines) appears that the gears are stripped (Removable pinion as well as the cam gear. I have not been able to find parts anywhere. If you can help me I would greatly appreciate it.
    If not, maybe It's worth something for parts. Everything else looks good.

      I'm sorry but I am unaware of anyplace that stocks older Saito parts. Your best bet is to find a parts engine or search the forums and eBay.

      @@dmrcflyr2 Thank you sir. I'll keep an eye out. In the mean time I'll shelf it. If you ever need the parts let me know. Happy to donate them to a good cause.

    Dave, I have an FA-80 with a stuck exhaust valve. I ran it on the test stand just fine, but after it cooled the exhaust valve was stuck open so there is no compression. Do you have a trick for loosening it without talking the head off?

    • @dmrcflyr2
      @dmrcflyr2  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      It could be a stuck cam follower too. Put some oil on the spring and push down on it and see if it rebounds. Work it like that a few times. See if it loosens up. The push rod will become disengaged from the rocker arm, so be sure to re-engage the push rod properly before running.

      Wow, that was quick. Thanks for the reply! It's not the cam follower. The valve is stuck what appears to be about totally open, so there's not much more that the spring can be compressed. I've tried tapping on the top of the valve stem using a large size nail set and hammer, tapping lightly. It doesn't seem to want to budge and I was afraid to tap too hard. I was thinking of heating the top of the cylinder with a heat gun and trying again. If I can get it loose while it's hot maybe I can work some oil into it before it freezes again.Thoughts?

      @dmrcflyr2  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +sparks1947 yes try some heat and oil. if that doesn't work you may have to disassemble. take the rocker arm off to do this.

      Do you have a temperature recommendation? I can measure it with my IR thermometer. And are we talking like 3 in 1 oil? I know it can't be so hot that the oil burns off when I apply it!

    • @dmrcflyr2
      @dmrcflyr2  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +sparks1947 I don't use a thermometer. just don't a matter of feel for me. 250 F to 300 F should be good.
