My true ancestry says my closest, ancient ancestors were Visigoths and Danish Vikings.
I was .... nearly brought to tears with this knowledge. The Visigoths were always my favorite tribe of my ancestors, now I know why. There is a connection there. Somewhere.
I also love the Goths my favourite germanic tribe
they were The Best Germanic tribe. Thier legacy continued all the way from Spain to modern Day Kazakhstan and Tajikistan in central Asia

It is reconstructed from texts of Jordanès Era, from what I readed. He wrote the History of the Goths. I did research's about it some times ago. It is authentic of that era, in language and events. It's mostly about God above all. Preserving the Culture of Visigoths. Brothers Armanis and Inglis seem to be Franks, Anglo-Saxons. Ostrogoths are the other Goths. Their religion was Monotheist with God above all things. They gave the name to God - Gott, in Germanic. The tree of creation. Midjungarda - Midgard, is Armenia - Ararat. Lake Van is close and it fit the description of the Norman Edda. It is the Middle-East, Middle of Earth, Middle of the Ancient Maps. That song is more ancient than Edda, and similar. But it is mostly about their times and the Battle of Catalaunian fields, 450-500 AD.

Pagan music? So, this is presumably from when the Visigoths were Arian Christians or did they worship the same gods as the Vikings before converting to Christianity?
The goths before invading Rome were pagan however decades after starting their own respective kingdoms (West/East aka Visigoths and Ostrogoths) they were eventually romanized and converted to christanity.

@LeoTheI Not really. Arianism still beliefs in Christ as the messiah and son of god, follows all his teachings, and believes in the old testament. Anything more is just variation in Christian belief.
Also, Arians didn't believe Jesus was a mortal. They still believed he was of a divine nature, but didn't think he was god

No influence from Iran. Iranian languages and come from the same language this one comes from. The farther back the language the more it sounds more like others in the family. Gothic isn't far from Proto Germanic, and proto Germanic isn't far from Indo European. Iranian comes from Persian, which comes from Indo European. They are all related
@@MrMorgan316 The Goths migrated from Scythia. The Sythians were closely related to Iranians if not culturally influenced by them. The Celtics also were from the same region at a different time in history. If you go far enough back in time Iranians were blonde and blue eyed

Yeah, because persian is an exonym, like tedeschi or german for the germans, who call themselves deutsche, this being an endonym. Same happens with the welsh, the endonym is Cymro(iirc) which means compatriot or comrade, whilst english say the exonym welsh, that comes from Walhaz, foreigner.
