Fiona: "I want to do a smaller video in between the big/main ones" Also Fiona: uploads a 2-hour video I love you lol, can't wait to listen to this one!
Spirituality in Stardew is very literal imo. Since he's friends with the Wizard, he definitely knows about nature spirits being actual, physical creatures inhabiting the valley
I wonder if George is the one throwing rocks because he sends you rocks in the mail. I reckon he gets Evelyn to wheel him around town giving everyone rocks as a gift but since linus doesn't have a mailbox he just throws them at his tent.
I would honestly love if Linus was only in Pelican Town seasonally, like if he went elsewhere for the winter like Snufkin in the Moomin books, but I also love having my little buddy around... Plus if ever I forage something anywhere near his tent I tend to go and give it to him, not sure why but it's a habit now and he seems happy with the arrangement lol
Ngl I saw Linus was the topic for today and laughed to myself cuz my first thought was “Man, Fiona is really trying to avoid the Sebastian’s deep dive huh?” 🤣 Have fun on your vaca girly and awesome video as always! ❤️
Okay about the rocks hitting the tent: i‘m surprised nobody mentioned it, but sebastian says in one dialogue that he sometimes throws objects into the woods/mountains because he’s so angry- thats why the rocks hit Linus tent!
Since he is a nomad, it's possible that Linus had his tent vandalised and destroyed in another place. I suspect the wariness would be no less strong for a change of scenery.
Linus is interesting because his desire for freedom/independence is taken super seriously despite him not always having access to food, only having access to drinking water from the (town funded) pool, etc. But when George wants independence/autonomy (harvey +penny cutscenes), he's portrayed as unreasonable for that. The house offer for linus came after (for me at least) the ability to give pam (who also claims to hate gifts from people) a house, and she loves it. The way other characters with similar hangups to linus are treated as either a bit silly for trying to maintain independence or are obviously just Coping™, but suddenly when we want Linus to stop getting rocks thrown at him, a line is drawn.
on the whole "whos throwing rocks thing" i always assumed it was morris, hes already a horrible person who does not like the ways of the community (he wants the community center GONE, hes genuinely angry about it being restored, he was pressuring lewis about it, hes antagonistic towards pierre, hes after money etc etc), and seeing this man who goes against the very ideals of joja/morris himself (who is the biggest joja hypeman (largely because hes the only one we see oops)), hed probably be infuriated, vindicated even. intriguing that not a lot of people were considering that possibility, it was always the one that made the most sense to me
On the topic of why would Pam hypothetically throw rocks at Linus' tent, I could see it as a frustration of "I have nothing and I'm miserable, how dare you have nothing and be happy," one of those kinds of counterproductive lines of thinking. Now I've literally never thought it was her throwing rocks and I don't think she'd bother doing that because Linus keeps to himself so is easy enough to ignore, but that's how I would rationalize it.
oh look a new fiona video that i definitely havent seen before! i better watch it or at the very least let it play in the background while i do other things to buff up her youtube analytics-i mean for my own enjoyment!
I never understood that gus cooked for him, just that food that would have been wasted or was leftover was given to him directly from now on instead of thrown in the unhigienic bin Also I know it's fun to speculate which character threw rocks but part of me just never associated it to one of the characters we know, like I assumed it was just some dumb non in game teens or something As you were speculating i literally thought if its an in game character i'd defintely think mayor lewis to discourage linus and more nomads coming I love your video analysis of this game so much
Another possible culprit for the rock throwing could be the mountain itself. There are multiple rock slides that occur within canon and Linus' tent is right between them.
I'd have to look at the lines again, but because he's nomadic, I have to wonder if the rocks being thrown at his tent or spray paint incidents even happened in the valley? It's possible it happened somewhere else before he arrived here, but whose to say.
thats how i always interpreted it, because of the line "the townspeople seem nice" which to me means that he hasn't experienced bad things from these people of pelican town specifically. but even if these things things did happen while he's been here, there's other explanations for it. his tent is near the peak of a mountain, it's possible that the rocks are literally just from the mountain and no one actually threw them. and as for the spray paint, i could see the construction workers hired by joja spray painting his tent as part of their mapping out the parameters of their work. they should have asked him, used tape/rope to prevent permanent damage to the tent, or put up caution markers in the ground. but it was still probably them.
For some reason, my brain decided that Linus was Lewis's estranged brother, and I was convinced it was canon for so long lol. So now it's my head canon that Lewis became corrupt as mayor, and Linus abandoned civilization so he wouldn't be tempted by the same greed that took his brother. Also it's totally Joja throwing rocks at his tent.
1:42:04 undiscussed idea... NOBODY was throwing rocks, nobody spray painted his tent, and it was just Linus trying to convince you to leave him alone by making you feel bad. Him talking about needing food to survive could be another instance of this. or possibly, these things mostly or entirely happened in previous places he lived. Linus isn't a Pelican Town native and it's implied he's stayed in Pelican Town longer than other places because of the library. The town certainly doesn't know him well, and you inherently learn things about people just by living in proximity to them. Some of this is certainly discomfort with his lifestyle but I also think it means he just can't have been in town too long. As a resident of multiple small farming communities, I can tell you for a fact that the gossip mill is always churning and newcomers/outsiders are always a hot topic. Pelican Town doesn't even seem to gossip about him in any real detail or with strong emotion other than empathy. Perhaps when the abuse in previous towns got too much, Linus moved on, and Pelican Town residents really were just kinder/more indifferent than average. I could easily believe him imagining rocks being thrown at his tent too. Squirrels throw stuff, pine cones fall out of trees, wind can whip something up from the ground... I once had a porcupine climb the tree above my tent while I was camping. It dropped stripped bark on my tent all night and it sure sounded like I was being attacked! lol. When you're on the inside, you have no clue what's actually hitting your tent, and if you KNOW people have thrown stones before, you're going to wonder if that's happening again every single time.
I’m not sure if Fiona mentioned it at all , but when the night market comes to town in winter, Linus is interested in checking it out, but doesn’t and says something along the lines of “these people are like me” implying they never truly have a home and travel- like a nomadic life. I just thought it was interesting to mention
this is train slander, linus would realise it's just the train if his tent was only hit by rocks after he hears the train whistle. also the train isn't guilty of the spray paint i'm suspicious of pierre. this man does not hesitate to beat up morris as soon as it's relatively socially acceptable. he probably takes his anger out on linus when his profits are down really enjoyable video as always ^^
Fiona casually mentioning how the sound Linus makes in his 4 heart scene sounds like... and then immediately looking up fanfics about it is so real. We do NOT give her enough credit
imo the spirits eve dialogue between linus and the wizard is canon but like one of those things that youd only find if you knew where to look and were messing with cheats and debug like the (1.6 spoilers) scene with mr. qi when you glitch into the summit without achieving perfection. i remember a video a few years back of someone going to all of the npcs in situations or locations where you couldnt reach them to speak with them and seeing what their dialogue was. I think in the festival of ice or something the wizard is blocked off by linus’s igloo (which to me is further proof they’re friends since they’re near each other and that’s stardew code for besties) and the wizard says something like “hey how did you get back here”, sort of like a nod to the player that they’re somewhere they’re not supposed to be
I'm of the opinion that it might be Clint throwing rocks. He has to go to the mines to get ore, he'd be in the area and have tons of rocks that he doesn't use/sell. He has a lot of anger/resentment in general so I could totally see him doing it.
Thank you for making these. I’m in the process of grieving a loved one and these videos are basically the only things helping me stay comfortably distracted and relaxed - rewatching from the beginning is so soothing. Thank you for all you do
I cannot express how much I love your videos. The mini rants. The jokes. THE VISUALS. Chef's kiss. 👌 Hope you're having a good holiday! Also when you said "go hug your mum" I nearly cried. Mine is fighting stage 4 cancer and I need reminders to cherish every moment I get with her ❤
I like the theory that Linus is actually Penny's dad. It would give Pam a reason to throw rocks at his tent, and a reason why he seems mournful about his past and is so desperate to pass his knowledge on to another child. He ruined his chance at being Penny's dad, so he stays to watch her from a far despite his previous years of travel. He says it is better left unsaid because he knows it would just hurt her if she knew the truth.
i literally just finished your penny video, closed out to go watch another one because i was so charmed, and went "wtf i didn't see this one before i thought they were only doing the spouses" lo and behold!!
So stoked to hear your deep dive about my bestie Linus. He is an absolute treasure and the best npc to have as your best friend and I will die on this hill.
I am knitting! After this video I've officially caught up on all your Stardew videos over the last few days. I just wanted to take the time to say thank you for putting so much work into these, I'm so happy TH-cam suggested your Sebastian video to me. Thanks to that now I get to sit, knit, and enjoy these lovely videos. Thank you so much for sharing. :)
amazing work fiona! i got so excited when i saw the upload! happy you got the technical issues sorted! I'm vindicated to hear others also noticed how lewd the squish-squelch sounds are in that one heart event lol. the baseless speculation bit was probably my favorite! and i enjoyed watching you jam to chapell roan haha
Okay first of all. As someone who works with kids... I could *kind of* see Vincent being the one to do it. Kids are cruel sometimes, not realising the gravity of their actions. And especially if he grows up around people who kind of view Linus as weird and bad, who dehumanise him to an extent... it's a very little kid thing to do. THAT BEING SAID- My hot take is that it's Lewis cause he wants the "eyesore" gone from his town
Can I just say, I really appreciate your videos. I watch them multiple times while working lol. I don’t have anyone who plays Stardew Valley, so I can’t really fangirl over the game with anyone else. So your videos really feel like I get to share my obsession with someone haha Also, I do think that the fact that your videos are mostly you sharing your opinions about the game is literally the best part of them, like the baseless speculation section was so funny. But yeah, love your dedication. Thank youuuuu
Rocks at the tent: i think seb and sam are hanging out together, seb is smoking, sam is bored, and without really thinking he throws little rocks at the tent. He seems to be bored really fast so i think its not with bad intentions but to just have something to do while seb is smoking.
ive only been playing stardew for a few weeks, and you were the first content creator for SDV that i watched and i LOVE your videos. they're always made with so much effort, and i got so excited seeing you uploaded again. can't wait for your deep dive into shane ❤
Only now getting around to watching this video and it’s so nice to know that I’m not the only one crying at Leo’s cutscenes Also I’m enjoying your analysis!! Looking forward to watching the rest of it :3
it would be super fun if he had a camp not only in the valley, but maybe on ginger island/in the calico desert. would be a lot more of a schedule for him, which i think adds to the layers of his character.
@@buffoello the scheduling is truthfully very easy! I’ve written a bit of a pseudo foraging loop for him right now, with specific dialogue lines depending on what area he’s foraging in. I love the idea of a camp in the desert too! I already have a spot picked for ginger island, but not 100% committed to the idea. I’m curious where you think he’d set up camp!
@@kaylahaas id say in a cave somewhere in the desert (maybe with a pond inside?), and maybe somewhere hidden on ginger island (since there's so many secret places in ginger island).
While I don't really think it is Pam throwing rocks at the tent, there is one reason that she might have for hating him - she is constantly blaming her unhappiness on her circumstances, acting like if she were rich everything would be better, and relying on the help of others (the player) to get her a house and her job back... But even then she still isn't happy. But Linus chooses the life he leads. He's actively choosing to live with even less than what she has, and he's content. For someone who can't face her own demons, and realize that her unhappiness isn't showing to be solved with just money, Linus must really threaten that lie she tells herself. Which is the kind of thing people lash out aggressively about. Just a thought. I still don't really think it's her though, because climbing a mountain to throw rocks seems like a lot of effort for her.
YAY!! new fiona video!! this is the first time i’ve seen one as it’s coming out- i only found your channel a few weeks ago and it’s my new favourite thing!!😺😺
Maybe it's like, as young Linus he was hunched over--beaten by life, by the man, by society. But now old Linus looks taller because he stands straighter, unburdened by the life he didn't truly love.
I'm 90% certain that the person that talked about the monsters leaving the mines were referring to a romancable marlon mod lol they must have gotten confused in what was canon and what wasn't after a while 😭😭😭
i thought linus' young sprite was wearing a leather jacket like a 50s greaser. maybe it's supposed to show he was rebellious. maybe he used to be a bitter or violent person in his past, but it didn't make him happy so he left his old life behind to live in the woods. that seems like something you'd see in stardew
Yaaayyy, fixed audio ! I was able to listen to the first version on my phone but not my laptop 😭 (that didn't stop me from watching it twice in a row, though hehe). Thanks for taking the time to do this reupload !!
aaa wonderful video!! not to get sappy but your videos have been such a highlight of my day for the past few months; i moved out earlier this month for college and have been feeling really down and homesick, but your videos have helped me cheer up a lot, so thank you for that :’)
subsistence societies not having excess isnt always because they cant, its sometimes for responsible stewardship... if i kill extra game, it harms the population
1:56:14 this is a great idea!! ive thought about this for a while, i feel like having characters move around and not stay in town forever just makes it feel more realistic :3 ill use harvest moon as an example since stardew was inspired by it, (also i just really love harvest moon 😭) and this is something that i really love about the games! in grand bazaar (my fav harvest moon game) a few characters will leave town during the day since they have jobs in the city. for example my personal favorite character ivan will leave for the city on tuesdays, wednesdays and thursdays to work as a tutor and only come back to zephyr town at night. there are also other characters, (freya and claude) who leave town for work, and it just really makes the game more alive to me. theres also amir who is only unlocked on the 4th of winter in your first year, and every autumn he will visit his home country to see his family and return in winter. (also iirk daisy leaves town on wednesdays, not sure why she does tho. ig girly just wants to go shopping in the city sometimes) theres so many other chracters in the games who do this aswell; like kai in fomt who only appears in summer and when he gets married to popuri she also leaves town, cliff in fomt who will leave forever if you dont get him a job at the winery, mikhail in tott who leaves every summer because he doesnt like the heat, and probably way more that im forgetting. *side note but i could go on for SO long about how much i love the rival marriage, but this comment would be way longer that it already is so i wont >_> anyways i just think this would be something really great to be added to stardew! tbh i dont think it could be added at this point in the game since it would be weird if characters just randomly started leaving, but its still something nice to think about for the game!!
Linus sits at Lewis' and Marnie's table at some feasts of the winter star and Linus says that mayor himself invited him, so Linus has a quote about Lewis
i love your videos so much they’re the only longform stardew content i can find that i like besides 100 days play throughs and it’s my only hobby so i need to hear about it constantly lol
Your videos are so great! I’m relatively new to stardew, but I’m getting really into it and the deep dives have been such a great help. Because of the length, I also watch them often while playing/sleeping and you’ve become such a comfort channel. Much love from North Carolina, Fiona!!
Thank you for the speedy re-upload! I couldn’t watch the original because I was at work and got so sad when it was gone! Love this series! Sending love from El Paso, Texas🤠
Something I’ve learned from watching all your videos is that we have incredibly similar taste! I love all your references. The only thing we disagree on is my guy Sebastian. I am happy to see you thriving!
maybe yoba-linus wants diamond cause it let ghosts to be part of the world? like when you give diamonds to the grandpa shrine? idk but i really like this theory of him being yoba
1:30:07 I’m pleased to let you know that not only do we love it, we love the whole Cornetto Trilogy. The clips of beer being poured in Shawn of the Dead was used in my high school film production class as THE example for snappy editing, and it was the basis for a week long assignment, lol
You have become my favorite person to watch on TH-cam, I have rewatched every single one of your videos while I’m playing stardew lol, but you’re doing great! :)
Watching it again for the algorithm! Also, congrats on starting a Patreon and sponsorship! Always amazing video content. Love the props and hope you go beyond Stardew Valley!
I just love your videos, and keep coming back because I work through the day and your voice is so pleasant, and getting to hear someone talk about Stardew for a few hours is just my jam. Thank you for making these!
i'm so excited to see this channel grow from when i started watching your videos!! hope you're having fun despite all the chaos of learning how to be a youtuber :) also, curl cream is a godsend for frizzy wavy/curly hair!! idk if the uk has these brands but i use not your mother's curl cream or uncle funky's daughter curly magic curl stimulator. love them both they're 100% worth the money imo
Take 2 lmao Time for a rewatch 🥳 Linus is absolutely one of my favorite characters in fiction as a whole, I so rarely see characters like him that both _choose_ a lifestyle most people would think is 'less than' but also handles it in a respectful (but still realistic) way Love Emily honestly, she's so real for absolutely zero judgement. Even Penny mentions his choice is odd which feels like there's still some level of differentiation, Emily is just chillin.
i've been packing for a transcontinental move for the past week now and i've binged all your videos while doing my chores. they keep me motivated. keep up the great work :))
Id love it if Linus would move to the farm, like, he can live in his tent if he wants, but you could maybe build a little house with him, maybe from reclaimed logs so its still foraged and everything. Like I wish you could help Pam, a drnk driving the bus makes me uncomfortable, although maybe its just implied getting her job back cures her problems?
Linus, my first friend in every save file ❤. Im glad that everyone unanimously agrees that he is great. I was wondering as there seemed to be a missing event where Linus is just bathing in the lake. I dont know of it is new to the 1.6 update or if there is just nothing new to analyse with it. Either way, great video. Looking forward to the Wizard video. The audio sounds alot better, thank you for re-uploading the video. I hope commenting helps with boosting the video for the algorithm.
I just want to say I found your channel a few days ago and I LOVE your deep dives into the bachelors/bachelorettes! I’m super excited to see Sebastian’s and Shane’s deep dives, but Sam’s was defiantly my fav lol.
I love Linus, he is just a guy that wants to live in peace. I always give him food gifts, and talk to him, because I love his general "local mountain man from the woods that shows up in the town once in a while and people are scared but also are ok with him" vibe around him. ...Goals in life on that part, as someone that dreams to be the weird witch lady that lives in an overgrown house LOL Btw your talk about nomads made me realize I would love Linus to have a horse or an alpaca now, like the wandering traders in Minecraft...but would make him be less alone and not so off to his luck
Fun fact: I used to get a "Yuck! Stop that!" message while kicking the trash cans, even though there were no townspeople on the screen. It turned out I was scandalizing the slimes I had turned loose on the town.

Ngl I saw Linus was the topic for today and laughed to myself cuz my first thought was “Man, Fiona is really trying to avoid the Sebastian’s deep dive huh?” 🤣 Have fun on your vaca girly and awesome video as always! ❤️
hahahaha
Okay about the rocks hitting the tent: i‘m surprised nobody mentioned it, but sebastian says in one dialogue that he sometimes throws objects into the woods/mountains because he’s so angry- thats why the rocks hit Linus tent!
Since he is a nomad, it's possible that Linus had his tent vandalised and destroyed in another place. I suspect the wariness would be no less strong for a change of scenery.
Official head canon. Thank you.
The way other characters with similar hangups to linus are treated as either a bit silly for trying to maintain independence or are obviously just Coping™, but suddenly when we want Linus to stop getting rocks thrown at him, a line is drawn.
the fact someone was so confident in saying jodi that you can't question it is so hilarious, like well okay i guess she could
“Maybe you’re knitting”
I slowly look up from my cross stitch wide eyed “how was your guess that close-!?”
I was stitching my kid's costume as she said it.
on the whole "whos throwing rocks thing" i always assumed it was morris, hes already a horrible person who does not like the ways of the community (he wants the community center GONE, hes genuinely angry about it being restored, he was pressuring lewis about it, hes antagonistic towards pierre, hes after money etc etc), and seeing this man who goes against the very ideals of joja/morris himself (who is the biggest joja hypeman (largely because hes the only one we see oops)), hed probably be infuriated, vindicated even. intriguing that not a lot of people were considering that possibility, it was always the one that made the most sense to me
You: maybe you're knitting
Me, holding a crochet hook: nuh-uh
Hell yeah brethren, we gotta boost our lovely yapper 🫡
I never understood that gus cooked for him, just that food that would have been wasted or was leftover was given to him directly from now on instead of thrown in the unhigienic bin
Also I know it's fun to speculate which character threw rocks but part of me just never associated it to one of the characters we know, like I assumed it was just some dumb non in game teens or something
As you were speculating i literally thought if its an in game character i'd defintely think mayor lewis to discourage linus and more nomads coming
I love your video analysis of this game so much
Another possible culprit for the rock throwing could be the mountain itself. There are multiple rock slides that occur within canon and Linus' tent is right between them.
I'd have to look at the lines again, but because he's nomadic, I have to wonder if the rocks being thrown at his tent or spray paint incidents even happened in the valley? It's possible it happened somewhere else before he arrived here, but whose to say.
thats how i always interpreted it, because of the line "the townspeople seem nice" which to me means that he hasn't experienced bad things from these people of pelican town specifically. but even if these things things did happen while he's been here, there's other explanations for it.
his tent is near the peak of a mountain, it's possible that the rocks are literally just from the mountain and no one actually threw them. and as for the spray paint, i could see the construction workers hired by joja spray painting his tent as part of their mapping out the parameters of their work. they should have asked him, used tape/rope to prevent permanent damage to the tent, or put up caution markers in the ground. but it was still probably them.
the spray paint could be, but the rocks dialogue specifically says it happened "last night"
super glad you got the audio figured out!!
When he brought us into the tent I thought he was chopping us up 😭
I’m not sure if Fiona mentioned it at all , but when the night market comes to town in winter, Linus is interested in checking it out, but doesn’t and says something along the lines of “these people are like me” implying they never truly have a home and travel- like a nomadic life. I just thought it was interesting to mention
this is train slander, linus would realise it's just the train if his tent was only hit by rocks after he hears the train whistle. also the train isn't guilty of the spray paint
i'm suspicious of pierre. this man does not hesitate to beat up morris as soon as it's relatively socially acceptable. he probably takes his anger out on linus when his profits are down
really enjoyable video as always ^^
Train slander 😂
Thank you for all you do
❤️
He says it is better left unsaid because he knows it would just hurt her if she knew the truth.
the perfect excuse to immediately rewatch omg
Babe wake up! Fiona reuploaded!
Rewatching as I get myself to sleep, now headphoneless and equally as excited
when I first got the cutscene where Linus shows you how to make bait I cannot explain how CONFUSED I was at the strange sound effects😅
i literally just finished your penny video, closed out to go watch another one because i was so charmed, and went "wtf i didn't see this one before i thought they were only doing the spouses" lo and behold!!
The Sebastian throwing things segment broke me 😭 the music, the impression, the items, 10/10
amazing work fiona! i got so excited when i saw the upload! happy you got the technical issues sorted!
I'm vindicated to hear others also noticed how lewd the squish-squelch sounds are in that one heart event lol. the baseless speculation bit was probably my favorite! and i enjoyed watching you jam to chapell roan haha
Reupload? Audio sounds great now! Yay for Fiona, I love your videos!! ❤❤❤
yayy! thank you for reuploading with fixed audio :D
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR FIXING THE AUDIO!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wanted to watch it so badly!!! ❤❤❤❤❤
THAT BEING SAID-
My hot take is that it's Lewis cause he wants the "eyesore" gone from his town
WOOO!! the audio issues meant i couldn’t listen to this during work but now I get to listen to it on the way home!!
I've watched all of these in order and I have to say: I'm having a great time. Best of luck to you in the youtube algorithm!
You hit on this so well in the video - I love how Leo's story also finishes Linus' character arc. It was honestly my favorite part of the 1.5 update.
Only now getting around to watching this video and it’s so nice to know that I’m not the only one crying at Leo’s cutscenes
Also I’m enjoying your analysis!! Looking forward to watching the rest of it :3
*pretends I haven’t already watched the full video*
actively working on a “Linus is a nomad” mod just for you, Fiona 🖤
it would be super fun if he had a camp not only in the valley, but maybe on ginger island/in the calico desert. would be a lot more of a schedule for him, which i think adds to the layers of his character.
But now old Linus looks taller because he stands straighter, unburdened by the life he didn't truly love.
that was my thought too!! also he's buff as hell now (carrying the player around) which tends to improve your posture lol.
I'm 90% certain that the person that talked about the monsters leaving the mines were referring to a romancable marlon mod lol they must have gotten confused in what was canon and what wasn't after a while 😭😭😭
Thank you so much for fixing the audio! It sounds perfect, time to dive into Linus!!!
i thought linus' young sprite was wearing a leather jacket like a 50s greaser. maybe it's supposed to show he was rebellious. maybe he used to be a bitter or violent person in his past, but it didn't make him happy so he left his old life behind to live in the woods.
that seems like something you'd see in stardew
Yaaayyy, fixed audio ! I was able to listen to the first version on my phone but not my laptop 😭 (that didn't stop me from watching it twice in a row, though hehe). Thanks for taking the time to do this reupload !!
aaa wonderful video!! not to get sappy but your videos have been such a highlight of my day for the past few months; i moved out earlier this month for college and have been feeling really down and homesick, but your videos have helped me cheer up a lot, so thank you for that :’)
Yay, thanks for taking the time to create an even more enjoyable video!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
subsistence societies not having excess isnt always because they cant, its sometimes for responsible stewardship... if i kill extra game, it harms the population
1:56:14 this is a great idea!! ive thought about this for a while, i feel like having characters move around and not stay in town forever just makes it feel more realistic :3
ill use harvest moon as an example since stardew was inspired by it, (also i just really love harvest moon 😭) and this is something that i really love about the games!
in grand bazaar (my fav harvest moon game) a few characters will leave town during the day since they have jobs in the city. for example my personal favorite character ivan will leave for the city on tuesdays, wednesdays and thursdays to work as a tutor and only come back to zephyr town at night. there are also other characters, (freya and claude) who leave town for work, and it just really makes the game more alive to me.
theres also amir who is only unlocked on the 4th of winter in your first year, and every autumn he will visit his home country to see his family and return in winter.
(also iirk daisy leaves town on wednesdays, not sure why she does tho. ig girly just wants to go shopping in the city sometimes)
theres so many other chracters in the games who do this aswell; like kai in fomt who only appears in summer and when he gets married to popuri she also leaves town, cliff in fomt who will leave forever if you dont get him a job at the winery, mikhail in tott who leaves every summer because he doesnt like the heat, and probably way more that im forgetting.
*side note but i could go on for SO long about how much i love the rival marriage, but this comment would be way longer that it already is so i wont >_>
anyways i just think this would be something really great to be added to stardew! tbh i dont think it could be added at this point in the game since it would be weird if characters just randomly started leaving, but its still something nice to think about for the game!!
I’ve been binging all your videos for the last few weeks and I’m so sad I have to wait in real time now 😭 I love your content so much
aw thank you! the sebastian vid is coming together i promise, just bought some fingerless gloves and everything
Ive been waiting for this one love that bush man 😩
maybe yoba-linus wants diamond cause it let ghosts to be part of the world? like when you give diamonds to the grandpa shrine? idk but i really like this theory of him being yoba
🩷🩷
FUCK YEAH LINUS DEEP DIVE. MY BOY‼️‼️
glad to see the audio issue getting fixed
Listening to you talk about SDV makes time pass by so fast, can't believe it's been 2 hours. Thank you so much for making great videos like this 🥰
Watching it again for the algorithm!
Love your videos Fiona! Can’t wait to spend my entire day watching the Shane video when it comes out
i'm so excited to see this channel grow from when i started watching your videos!! hope you're having fun despite all the chaos of learning how to be a youtuber :) also, curl cream is a godsend for frizzy wavy/curly hair!! idk if the uk has these brands but i use not your mother's curl cream or uncle funky's daughter curly magic curl stimulator. love them both they're 100% worth the money imo
Take 2 lmao
Time for a rewatch 🥳 Linus is absolutely one of my favorite characters in fiction as a whole, I so rarely see characters like him that both _choose_ a lifestyle most people would think is 'less than' but also handles it in a respectful (but still realistic) way
Love Emily honestly, she's so real for absolutely zero judgement. Even Penny mentions his choice is odd which feels like there's still some level of differentiation, Emily is just chillin.
Listening to these videos while playing Stardew Valley is peak.
i've been packing for a transcontinental move for the past week now and i've binged all your videos while doing my chores. they keep me motivated.
keep up the great work :))
I think that joja workers or people who visit the valley could have sprayed linus's tent and thrown rocks at it
Id love it if Linus would move to the farm, like, he can live in his tent if he wants, but you could maybe build a little house with him, maybe from reclaimed logs so its still foraged and everything.
I think the bathing scene triggers after you complete his community cleanup event (fishing up trash) because he comments on the water being clean!
@lindsaybee9594 Thank you
stoked to listen to this while i “work”!
thank you for the reupload ! now i can enjoy my linus essay to the fullest
I just want to say I found your channel a few days ago and I LOVE your deep dives into the bachelors/bachelorettes! I’m super excited to see Sebastian’s and Shane’s deep dives, but Sam’s was defiantly my fav lol.
I WAS ROBBED MY SEBASTIAAAANN T___T ok jkjk patience is a virtue
I love Linus, he is just a guy that wants to live in peace. I always give him food gifts, and talk to him, because I love his general "local mountain man from the woods that shows up in the town once in a while and people are scared but also are ok with him" vibe around him.
...Goals in life on that part, as someone that dreams to be the weird witch lady that lives in an overgrown house LOL
Btw your talk about nomads made me realize I would love Linus to have a horse or an alpaca now, like the wandering traders in Minecraft...but would make him be less alone and not so off to his luck
Fun fact: I used to get a "Yuck! Stop that!" message while kicking the trash cans, even though there were no townspeople on the screen.
It turned out I was scandalizing the slimes I had turned loose on the town.
