    Hey, Milan. Nice instructions ! And how about the hitting point part? Like using the wrist to generate top spin or just let the racket going forward(which I think most coach tell learner on first day ? and I try to avoid now )

    • @tenfitmentennisimpulse
      @tenfitmentennisimpulse  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Those are already more advanced elements, here we were learning the basics of forehand. But in terms of wrist, definitely it should be loose and it should contribute naturally to adding top spin, depends on the shot.

    I'm surprised you did not mention laying your wrist back. But that could be achieved by having your racquet strings facing the back fence in step 2.

    Wish I could do a forehand now, after four years playing, as well as that first girl could after five minutes' practice!

    Great video Milan! But this first step with the shoulder turn where you let them "look in the mirror", you know what I mean? That is only possible with a semi western grip right? While most beginners start with an eastern grip (we as trainers are taught to always let beginners start with eastern grip). I do let them so step 1. But the way you make them hold the racket (where it looks like they are holding up a mirror... (when the racketface is towards the side fence), is only possible with a semi western. Trying to get it up like that hurts the wrist very much in an eastern grip. With an eastern grip making that shoulder turn with the torso rotation like that would have you looking at the frame of your racket.
    So you let all students no matter the level start with a semi western grip?

      Not true. Every lesson I had with a trainer started me out with semi western

    Looks like by moving racquet so that it faces back fence this results in more upper body rotation than just having it face side fence. Wondering, however, if this also results in moving racquet too far back so it no longer stays on hitting side of body. Would appreciate your comment on this.

      That shouldn't be aa problem if you do steps as demonstrated in this video. This is basic forehand technique, not advanced modern ATP forehand :)
