Even as a huge fan of the games, I always knew that it would be harshly rated by critics, but loved by the fans. That being said, I'm very much looking forward to watching the movie today!
Seems to be a case of the movie not knowing what it wants to be. It wants to appeal to new fans but also leaves references for older fans. Yet, because they want to include everyone, it results in a tonal whiplash where it is uncertain what audience they are trying to appeal to.
as a fan i kinda gotta agree, but i still thought that this movie was good. not perfect, nothing is, but a good movie in my eyes. a reward to all fans who waited this long and the achievements the fandom has accomplished over the years.
That in my eyes is why I hated the pg-13 rating, cause while I didn't know deep down I knew from that rating alone that something was gonna be off, why? Cause unlike in the games the movie was not gonna be able to hold a candle cause the games are both scarier, and a whole hell of a lot more brutal, but I haven't seen the movie yet and I'm just going off of word of mouth
So? Who cares how long it takes. I care about if the product is great or not. Jesus I hate when fnaf fans are saying “oh you should be proud that we got this film after 8 long years no matter if it’s bad or not”. Such a goofy statement
I’ve never played FNAF, but I’ve been watching videos about the lore just so I can watch this movie. I’m not going to go in all skeptical like the critics, instead I’m just going to appreciate it for what it is and have a good time with it. I hope all the fans enjoy it though!!❤
I watched the movie today, and can say that you didn’t have to watch the lore videos, the movie adaptation does not have a single thing to do with the original fnaf
I’ve seen some mixed reviews on this movie, but 3C’s is the one I’ve been waiting for. He’s a fan but also a fair critic, kind of the best of both worlds. Can’t wait to hear the review!
Dude.. it’s juicy steak, I remember you were a very frequent commenter in my channel, just gonna let you know I’m still very into fnaf and saw the movie and yes I almost cried of nostalgia
I'm amazed that this all started as a simple point-and-click indie horror game and turned into a massive franchise with tons of sequels, books and now a theatrical movie. Seriously, Scott. Well done.
I still remember when I first watched my favorite TH-camr play FNAF 1 around 2014. Little did I know that this game would hold a large significance in my life for the next 9 years. To see how far FNAF came makes me feel so nostalgic. Dang.
At the end of the day, this movie was being promoted as "was made for the fans". So knowing that, you know that if a sequel is made, they are going to go by the audience reviews instead of focusing on what critics have to say. I love this series of games and I do wish we ending up getting more for this movie, I still had a great time with it!
The good thing about a lukewarm reception of the movie is that Scott will learn from his mistakes. He's pretty good at taking criticism and fixing things that went wrong.
One of the best examples of this is people saying Springtrap’s jumpscare in the third game wasn’t scary. So what does Scott do? He makes FNaF 4, the scariest game in the series. I fully agree with you when you say that Scott will learn from his mistakes to make the next movie even better.
I liked the movie. I think lots of people hate it because of the hype it got. So many people over hyped it and that made it in likeable for some people since they thought it would be best movie ever. As a big fan I think it’s really good.
Even as a big fan I didn’t enjoy it, the writing felt meh and movie pace kinda felt rushed, obviously it’s hard to adapt a video game to a movie. And the horror wasn’t really that scary overall for me 5/10
The most menacing one was the cupcake, which I find ridiculous, awesome, funny, and actually making sense at the same time. I did imagine the cupcake being like chica’s pet and that he’s aggressive at times.
My dad who new nothing about it gave it a 7/10 witch i never saw coming i thought he was going to hate it, but no he understood the story and lore shown in the film so i think it can be enjoyed by a casual viewer as well. and yes those fnaf fans in the cinema where something else 😂😂
What i loved about this movie was that it didn't have a lot of gore, makes it perfect for me. What i liked about the games back as an 8 year old was that they were scary without being visually disgusting. This movie portrayed that perfectly and i really enjoyed it. It was so fun
@@NV_PrideI think the gore being cut off our not shown is intentional, because in the game scott never actually shows gore it happens behind the scene or is hidden like in the movie
@@rneffects6578springtraps death could have been way better, maybe some flashbacks where William stuffed the kids into the suits. The movie is a mixed bag even for me who has been a long time fan.
WHEN the 2nd and 3rd movie get greenlit, I hope they take the criticisms of this first movie to improve on all aspects. Especially opening it up to a wider audience so the fanbase can grow and evolve. Cant wait to see it on Saturday tho ❤
I really hope they make the movie rated r next time…I doubt they will since…well…most of the audience these days for the games are kids…but because they went pg-13 they couldn’t really make the kills good…they did what they could but in the end people wanted to see good death scenes
@@SuperPrestogamer I don’t think it has to rated R. I think the rating it’s got is what fits fnaf. But maybe there were things that they limited in certain aspects idk. But I’m probably not going to mind when I see it lol.
@@soomi5667 I saw it…I just feel like the kills could’ve been better, overall as a fan it was still a fun time and I enjoyed it nonetheless definitely going to watch a second time
@@SuperPrestogamer fnaf has always been T rated, and i think that is where it should stay. you dont need huge amounts of gore to make a horror film, id say all the deaths in the film were done very well especially considering it only had a $20 mill budget, the fact that it did the kills so well surprised me
@@SuperPrestogamer I can’t really speak on it since I haven’t seen it yet. But like I said, I think the rating is fine for it. Though, it’s good you enjoyed it. Hope you can find all the Easter eggs a second time around lol.
I completely expected this outcome between fans and critics. If this movie is playing along with the games, the sequel will explain A LOT of missing information for new comers. I think it’s great! It’s exactly how we, the fans of fnaf, HAD to experience it! I’m really looking forward to the movie tonight! Awesome review and hoping for a really pumped theater!
Compared to the Mario movie this feels more straight forward where you know what the consensus for the movie is gonna be. Though honestly i don't necessarily with the critic reviews and not because they're not fans of FNAF. Some reviews just didn't make sense.
Oh yeah, it's clear that this first movie followed along the lines of the first three games. Missing children's incident, Springtrap's creation. You even have a child of his in a coma and copious dream theory references. Then the "Come Find Me" message at the end of the credits. Something tells me the next one will be the movie's take on either fnaf 3 or sister location.
I’m honestly glad you’re being very honest with this review, I’m seeing the movie tomorrow and I’ve heard very good things from fans but not so much from a general audience. Even if the movie has its flaws from there to there, I’m sure I’ll enjoy it a lot and that’s just how I wanna walk out of the movie feeling:)
If bendy will get a screen adaptation of any kind, here are some of my crew ideas: Themeatly as overseer and screenwriter Ralph Bakshi as director Melanie Martinez as composer Dane Boedigheiner as the voice of cartoon bendy Lauren synger as the voice of cartoon alice Sean chrisden as the voice of the ink demon J. K. Simmons as joey Drew Angelina jolie as twisted Alice/Susie Campbell Daisy Ridley as Alison Owen Dennis, Matt Braly, Dana Terrence and Cooper Smith Goodwin as art directors
I was in preschool when the movie was announced. One of my friends played all of the games that were released from August 2014 to March 2017. I kept asking what he was talking about, until he showed me gameplay footage of FNaF 4, which gave 5-year-old-me nightmares for 3 YEARS. Now that I’m older, I’m not scared of it.
Agreed, Matthew Lillard was hugely underutilized. I'm sure Hollywood was dropping hints of Stu Macher's Scream 7 return with the knife swipe and his written lines!
im amazed on how positive you are about it. Me as a fnaf fan could not be more dissapointed. The only thing the movie and the game has in common, is it takes place at Freddys, 5 children got murdered. Its honestly the one of the worst movie spinoffs. And you dont have to be a fan to have the full experience. I had no idea what was going on, half of it didnt make sense, and they did not IN THE SLIGHTEST follow the game lore. 1.5 out of 5
I watched it before this video came out and I had a blast! The audience was all dressed up in a purple suit and brought there plushies and t shirts, anything Easter egg that happened we would all yell! I really don’t understand why ppl hate this movie. I hope they do make a sequel bc this will be a memory I will never forget
we have to remember Fnaf Story is split across the games when fnaf started the lore was nonexistent and they started building on it with later games I wouldn't be surprised if the first 1 is just a setup for the later movies and the 3 movies are basically parts of a bigger story
As an OG fan since the day it launched (Markiplier’s upload) and now an avid member in the community, i LOVED this movie. I’m in the UK. it was a love letter by its creator and amalgamation of many unique references. I went in expecting more laughs than gore because i know how modern fnaf is (Security Breach) in its gore levels compared to back in the day. That being said, I was satisfied to basically every degree. my cinema was fully booked and everyone laughed, gasped & cheered together. my cinema clapped! for what it is, and what it took to get here 8 years later, i have no complains. just add a lil more blood next time Blumhouse 😉❤
My only complaint is that Vanessa being Williams daughter was really not needed. I mean, sure there could be an explanation, but it seemed out of the blue. Then again, I did expect the movie to be canon, so I could be wrong. Also, that reference to sparky the dog made me stand up and clap.
@@CubeytheawesomeSPOILERS ⚠️ I disagree I really thought it was cool it was super unexpected and felt relieving since the entire time Vanessa seemed to keep a bunch of important stuff from Mike and I felt relieved when she finally said it. It gave a good excuse for her to keep going there and knowing everything about it. The "bring Abby here again and I'm gonna shoot you" line was the stupidest part of the movie lmao
@@kev_jr im going to be honest my guess was that she was aftons daughter all the way from the fort scene because the cloth she took out of the storage if i remember correctly was purple
It might not be a movie that people like that are not fans of the franchise, so I can see why they hate it, but for the fans, yeah, it’s absolutely amazing. Scott himself said the movie was dedicated for mostly the Fans and the fandom. So it might be a movie fans enjoy and maybe some regular guests. But overall, it’s a well balanced movie for some people.
I just watched it and it confused the hell out of me. I waited 8 years and it's barely good as a movie itself. A lot of fun Easter eggs and cameos, but it got me so disappointed.
It’s incredibly disappointing that 90% of Matthew Lillard’s screen time was in the trailers. And his big final scene felt so out of nowhere- yes I could see the foreshadowing- but we barely got to see him
@@Haveacupofkatie like I’m glad we got the scene but like why? I get the foreshadowing. But spring trap popping up out of nowhere at the end was confusing. I thought mike would help the ghost kids remember who killed them with flashbacks where we actually see William Afton in action killing kids. I enjoyed the 8 bit mini game intro but ehhhh idk my expectations were probably too high
Having been aware and invested in this franchise since it’s debut. This film was cathartic and impressive. It’s not perfect but a very enjoyable experience having followed the franchise for nearly 10 years. Great production and really faithful to the source material. I would have altered the story myself but I think everyone did a great job with what they were given. Josh especially carrying the film.
The fact that this movie took 8 years to make is actually insane. I'm still shocked that this series started off as a simple point-and-click horror game and turned into a massive franchise with multiple sequels, novels and now a theatrical movie!
I'm not really a fan of the games, but I'm planning to see the movie tonight in theatres. Because of what everyone is saying, I'm watching all of Mat Pat's videos on FNAF so I have a better understanding of the lore.
Damn it sucks to hear that Matthew Lillard isn’t in the movie enough but im still looking forward to it. I hope the lore sections are interesting and that we get to see the puppet
Surreal to see this video in my subscription feed. Been following your coverage of the FNaF movie since the very beginning and am ecstatic that we are finally here!
I trust opinions like this more just because critics gave the Mario movie really bad reviews and literally everybody else gave it good reviews. Opinions like yours are very good because when I saw fnaf TH-camrs give their reviews they looked like they had just seen a masterpiece and with people who haven’t heard of or don’t know the ganes all that well make it seem like it’s terrible so I love how you can find a balance between the two.
Warning minor spoilers ahead: I've been a fan since the beginning of Fnaf in 2014, and when it got announced there will be a movie about it in 2015 I got excited and waited alllllll this time for this movie to come out. I know the lore for the most part and had an idea where this was going. But the whole dream thing was kinda annoying because it was a big chunk movie and could've been cut short a little bit, and I was hoping for more animatronic action like we saw in the first few games and that our main 4 would've gotten some individual personalities and voices to connect more with them. Let's be real... that ending felt super rushed. I feel like the movie should've been at least 20 minutes longer to fill in some of the things that we should have gotten more of like cmonnnnnn Blumhouse 15 MINUTES OF ANIMATRONICS AND 5 MINUTES OF AFTON?!?! Nonetheless I still had my fun with it and got the fnaf vibe but I'm far from satisfied. 6/10. Also loved the MatPat and Corey cameos :)
I watched it with my friends and we all agreed that it was not a great horror movie. However, as fnaf fans, we thought that it was funny, enjoyable and an absolute laugh! I did shake my head at some points in the movie but because it was Scott Cowthans (creator of fnaf) last Fnaf project before he retires, I can tell that he was just having fun and enjoying the creation of something that he knew that his fans would hold very close to their hearts. As a horror movie I would give it a 3/10 but as a fnaf movie, it’s the best thing (11/10).
@@droppedcroissant2910there are a couple jump scares that got me because they were unexpected, but the if you’ve seen the trailers then you already know half of them which kind of sucks
I just watched the movie in theaters and I like it, like you said you have to be a casual fan to understand some of the easter eggs. I also agree on the cute and cuddly I was very confused but won’t go into to much detail about that but I just really liked seeing the animatronics on the big screen that’s what made me happy
Even as a fan I just feel like this move was more goofy than creepy and scary. Looking forward to the 2nd and 3rd movies but the fan made vhs tapes are still the best piece of fnaf media I’ve seen. I haven’t rlly been creeped out by official fnaf content since sister location.
With this movie coming out with all of its reviews, Blumhouse and Scott could take the criticism and wants from people from the first film and if they do make a sequel, they can add it to the next film while turning everything up to 10 with the horror or the action. But thats just my way of thinking of it.
The movie is amazing so long as you are a fan of the franchise. If you at least a decent amount of the lore, it will be awesome. If you know nothing, you probably won't like it.
@@Deadly-MikeAndIkeI’ve never played the games, but I actually really enjoyed this movie. I think being in a fully packed theater made it better though tbh.
Great review 3C and I also completely agree. As a hardcore fan and this being my second favorite franchise, i gave it a 9/10. But as someone ignoring that biase I give it a solid 7. I will say I don't feel like this movie was trying to have a big twist. If you pay attention near the beginning when William reads Mike's last make you see him thinking and realising something. Anyone with a brain would be like "oh... That means something" and then when we reveal Mike has a brother and someone took him I feel it's safe to say most people can get that it was most likely him who did it. So I personally wouldn't count the twist thing as a negative as I feel like it wasn't trying to be hidden. Also I feel the PG13 ranking was well used and I'm not sure what more was needed? Like I get people love rated R but I don't see why that would have been needed. I mean we see a bloody head and a girl's chopped off legs. Not sure what else was wanted. Also I do like the fact that this would be a starter horror movie you show to little kids. As I feel most of the fan base is kids now and I doubt that's gonna change. So if you think about it while you said it's gonna have a smaller audience, show a kid this and they will most likely love it. So in the next couple years we could see a bunch of fans popping up since they watched the movie when they were kids, got into the fan base then went from there. But anyway great review per usual and I can't wait for the sequel.
Wow Afther 8 Years This Movie Is Finally Out, As A Longtime FNAF fan I'm incredibly proud And Happy for Scott for making a That Would Not only be So Huge, But Saving His career 😊 Also Been waiting forever for your review Since Early this year Also remember Your old old Fnaf Updates
As someone who absolutely loved this movie I will say there is only one flaw. they could have pushed the violence/gore a little bit more to its limits because I’ve seen Pg-13 movies so much worse but also completely understandable because a huge chunk of the fanbase is young kids
@@yenyerkun yes, one. Other than that one the movie is a masterpiece. Deny it all you want but the more you deny it the more you prove you’re not a fan of fnaf. Which clearly the movie was made for fans.
@@FrenchieTime1225 I've been following the franchise since Fnaf 1, try again. That phrase is pure denial from people who watched the movie with a blindfold on, or just don't understand movies.
@@yenyerkungoofiest opinion ever🤣 so people who liked the movie have a “blindfold” on and “don’t understand movies” just because you didn’t like it? Please😂 cry me a river. Mr sook😆
Chris the excitement I have for this movie is at its PEAK. Me and my girlfriend will be watching this on peacock along some of our friends & we’re all just EAGER to see our childhood on the big screen & off topic but I really enjoyed the spider 2 streams, your comedy & your soundboard were absolutely golden chris 😅
I watched the film on Wednesday and I gave it a 8/10 which I still stand by. My best way to describe the film is a "aftermath of a horror film" type of deal The bad and horrific stuff has already happened, it was what happened to the children and to Mike's brother back in the 80s and 90s, and this film explores the aftermath of tragedy. The concepts are horrific when you think about it, and the film goes into those ideas. Yes it's still a horror film, and yes it could be better, but the problem I've seen some reviewers do is compare it to other horror films. Really this film to me feels more like a mystery and drama in the clothes of a horror film. It has its scary moments, but the true story is about the life of what happens after the murders. I think perhaps its marketing maybe should have focused on this aspect of tragedy, but if you go in with this in mind, it's a really great film. Great review 3C as always
This is probably the tipping point where i've come to realise that critics really don't matter. Ur basically waiting months, maybe even years to hear someone else decide for you. You don't speak to them, hell, you don't know them. So why listen to them and let them make the decision for you?
3 movies, 3 novels William gets springlocked and died in the first chapter of both adaptations. Main character loses younger sibling ever since as a kid in both adaptations. Animatronics started teaming up on William after he loses control on them, then they drag him away like the first novel. I feel like Scott is cooking up something for us.
Everytime you upload you make my day. You have become my favorite TH-camr and I love your reviews because it inspired me to do my own. Thank you for uploading everyday because I enjoy clicking on a 3c films video and enjoying it!
I loved the movie. Thankfully our theater didn't have anyone trying to be funny, it was genuine cheers and excited clapping. My mom, who wasn't a fnaf fan, thoroughly enjoyed the vibe of the experience, while my sister and I were right there cheering. We should go to opening nights more frequently, it was fun!
I actually think this movie getting negative reviews by critics is a GOOD thing. Blunhouse will see what worked and what didn’t and improve on it in the inevitable sequel.
I do believe the movie has already made its money back from streaming, to my knowledge im not 100% sure on that, but all the advertising said they made it for fans, and fans are loving it so they will probably see that as a success@@scottcockton
Could have been Mike working the doors from the security room and spending the night at Freddy's. All the backstory wasn't really relevant or made sense. But this goes for almost every Blumhaus movie,
As a fan, I knew this would be the same case as the Super Mario movie. I can understand the dislike but they treat it like this is the worst film of 2023 and IT SUCKS, I don't see it till tomorrow and they are tearing my hope down. edit: I saw it, and it is now my guilty pleasure!
Just watched it. As a huge fan I have NO clue why they’re tearing it down. Even my dad, who isn’t a fan and mostly just came to humor me, said it wasn’t bad at all. (He also understood what was happening despite knowing nothing abt the games, so.)
oh man i love this movie so much. yeah there were some things i didnt really like, but generally i think the movie is great. the entire cinema screamed, cheered, whistled, and clapped so much during some key references and plot points. especially when springtrap came out, holy shit im getting chills now just remembering how much everybody screamed, cheered and clapped
I remember being a huge fan of the game as a kid. However, in my opinion, I don't think the movie enticed me the hype to see it theatrically, especially the trailer, to be critically honest. I feel like the movie itself lacked the horror suspense opportunity it could have and it's pretty much predictable. I will go for Peacock on that.
it's ok if some who aren't at all an fnaf fan and just finished watching this feel like they aren't really gonna stick with this series plus wasn't really scared or nothing and it's just isn't for them but something for the younger crowd ta watch with some actual fans in the seats
4:00 i said that out loud to myself while watching it on Peacock on my phone 😅🤣 as a huge fan I loved it, it was fun. It had a lot of fan service so I can see why most people who don't know the lore might feel the trailer misled them or why the movie might of felt underwhelming. But it is a good gateway into horror and maybe into the fnaf fandom. Didn't understand the references or the lore/story? There's plenty of TH-cam vids to try and explain it for you if you're willing to watch.
@3cfilms at 5:18 you said they tried smushing together the story of the first three games but it doesn’t have anything to do with the other following sequels it actually sets up the sequel which would be fnaf 3 timeline wise
I was relieved it didn't have too much gore in it or even death or brutality. I really liked the comedic parts of it as well, and even though I was surprised, I should've expected it. I love how Scott (and the other directors and people who worked on the movie) didn't ignore the franchises silliness, But incorporated it instead. Especially the Balloon Boy bit lol. And I was so happy to see fellow fnaf fans, honestly. In my social circle I don't have anyone to talk about it, they think it's childish and cringe, so hearing people theorize, react to the cameo of a certain TH-cam, just having a good time (one brought a huge plush of Freddy to the movie, now I want one too), it just made me really happy, honestly, and for me, that's the main thing. The movie made me happy. I enjoyed it.
This Was A Fantastic Movie Loved all the Easter eggs sure it was fast and not that scary but as a FNaF Fan I loved this movie and I cant wait to get it on DVD I was smiling the whole movie absolutely love it. Critics don't know anything about fnaf which is why they drop bombshells on it but it doesn't mean the movie is bad like the Mario movie. I feel critic reviews should be Removed from all movies because critics draw back people who will no doubt love the movies
I watched the fnaf movie yesterday and I loved it! Some scenes were so wholesome and made me smile, in fact it made the whole cinema go "aww". Even though I didn't know the people in the cinema, I felt a connection with them. We all had the same reactions to certain scenes. Especially in the end when the legendary FNAF song by the living tombstone was played we were all thrilled and sang along
I’m definitely going to see this movie again in theaters. And I’m positive that they’re saving Matthew Lillard for the second movie. Oh boy if it comes to fruition
I’m on my 3rd screening(in the theatre waiting for it to start rn) as a mega fan that’s been following since Markipliers first video, and it’s everything I could’ve asked for, definitely a 10/10
I saw it last night and loved it ,,,for a pg 13 film Blumhouse did a awesome job…but my biggest complaint is that there was no movie merch at my local theatre ,I would of loved a cupcake popcorn bucket or a Bonnie cup…cheers from australia
The best way I've told myself to ignore the harsh ratings is to look at the Super Mario movie. Granted, that's on a much, much grander audience appeal, but the way that movie had me feel as a fan of the games, finding easter egg after Easter egg. Video game movies never really get good rating critically, but if the fans enjoy it, then I find it a success. With that said, I understand 3C's point on casual fans or people unfamiliar should also be able to enjoy the film, even if they don't understand the story. If the film struggles with that, then sure it may be a little concerning. But this movie was in production hell for an eternity. Give them time to clean up some things and keep Scott as part of production team and I think we could get a few more movies
I’m going to make this short and simple. This movie was so good. It was different to other million dollar budget movies and was actually interesting p. The 2 hour pacing was perfect not too long but not too short, and the scenes of the animatronics going on their murder sprees are sooo good, with the use of flashing lights and teleporting around. Haters gonna hate
im def on the hater end of this. I dont understand what was appealing about this safe, middle schoolers exuse for a horror film. the whole movie was made to sell more plushies and toys imo.
I’m seeing this with my dad tomorrow, and boy howdy am I going to feel embarrassed. I’ll have to explain what certain things meant and why they were significant afterwards
This movie will be a cult classic in years to come, I can see it now and the scene towards the end with spring bonnie and the knife got me so excited!!
3C: This is a spoiler free review! Also 3C: When Matthew Lillard is chasing people around with a knife in the suit it's awesome! ...okay then. Guess I don't need to see the movie since I know what happens.
I just finished watching it, I really liked it, I am with you with Matthew Lillard not being utilized enough, the scenes we did get with him though, damn were they good
Think you got it backwards, as a fan I was left scratching my head and wondering why they changed specific characters that were very important to the overall story. But as a movie, it was very entertaining in my opinion, the characters were really fun in the end
This was a very well made critique. I honestly think this movie (and yes I have played and am a fan of FNAF games) stuck really close to the games story and what changes were made were not drastic enough to make it terrible *cough* Warcraft *cough*. I do agree with you that it is great to have new people fall in love with games and movies you enjoy as well I would say that when it comes to video game adapted movies they have to stick with making it for the people who know the games. Its honestly a trap because if they don't make it for the fans then they lose on all fronts because new people either wont like it or wont understand and the fans who know where it comes from will be angry too so its a loss overall. That being said I do believe this is an excellent example of that middle ground where yes critics don't care for it much but they made changes where it is accessible for new people to understand. Hell it took 3-4 games for the original FNAF story to be told, they made most of it make sense in just 1 movie. Video game adaptations are getting better, look at Sonic, Mario, and Last of Us. Things are getting better. Though I still hold the opinion that the only live action video game adaptations that will interest the general public are games that are more serious and realistic (we'll see how the upcoming COD movie does). I feel like if there is a touch of fantasy it has to be animated and geared towards kids because if its sold as a live action fantasy show it will flop (lookin at Halo). But again overall I enjoyed the movie and thought that it truly was for the fans and it did extend a hand to new potential fans. Hopefully the sequels will come and be just as good if not better.
I've been a FNaF Fan since 2015 when the 3rd game came out. And when it was announced in April 2015 that a movie of Five Nights At Freddy's was going to happen, I was SUPER EXCITED for it. After 8 years of waiting for this movie to come out, it really paid off. I was so glad that when the movie wasn't with Warner bros anymore because, they wouldn't give the movie a really good budget or good promotion at all. And then when it was announced that blumhouse was going to make the film now , I was surprised and amazed that a horror only production was going to make this highly anticipated video game film a reality. Is this movie worth it? YES!, this movie is really worth it if you're a FNaF fan but if you aren't a fan of the franchise or you're just a person that has no clue what it is about, then I would say you might like or not. Does the movie have any flaws? There are a few flaws in the movie. But because this is a PG-13/15 rated film, I can see why it does look a bit goofy and a bit tame at times. Is The Movie Scary? It's mediocre scary, when I went in to see the film after waiting so long for it, I did get scared a bit from some of the jump scares that were sprinkled in the movie but that's because I didn't know what to expect from it. But after seeing it again last night, it wasn't as scary as I thought it was when I first watched it. But I do think that this is a good movie form pre-teens & teens to get into horror. Does it have gore? No not really, there are some scenes that are either silhouettes or shadows that show a few bits of gore but it's mainly scratches and just the tiniest bit of blood. But some of the deaths in this film were phenomenal. Specifically the scene with Freddy fazbear with the Max character. Is there any Fan-service or Easter eggs in the film that Fans of the series would know? Definitely, there is loads of Easter eggs though out this film that the FNaF Fanbase (including me) will notice. Does the film have a post-credit scene? Yes it does. It is not anything big, but it does look like It's trying to hint to the audience that Blumhouse & Scott Cawthon (The Creator Of FNaF) are wanting to make a sequel. Which I will see if they make it!. What I would change? I Would change a lot of things about this film like, making it more scarier, more intense and gorier as-well so it can be a movie that can be more darker and taken more seriously. For the story I would change it up to make it more understandable for the audience so then they can get hooked to the franchise, but also making it follow more to its lore so then the non-FNaF fans can understand what the movie is trying to convey, and what the story is about. Finally for characters, I would try and give them more information to the audience about why they are there and why they are connected to Freddy's as a whole. (This is mainly from the Vanessa character play by Elizabeth Lail & Steve raglan/William afton played by Matthew Lillard) Rating of the characters The animatronics: Freddy, bonnie, chica, foxy, spring bonnie and Easter egg animatronics. (that were made by the Jim Henson creature company) 10/10 Mike Schmidt - josh hutcherson= 10/10 Abby Schmidt - piper Rubio= 10/10 Officer Vanessa - Elizabeth Lail=7/10 Steve raglan/William afton - Matthew Lillard= 10/10 Aunt Jane - Mary Stuart Masterson= 7.2/10 Max - kat Conner Sterling= 8/10 Hank - Christian stokes= 9/10 Background/ other characters= 6/10 My overall rating? Despite the flaws that the movie has, it is a really good film for fans of the series that have been with it since 2014 to have fun with, and for pre-teens as-well that want to get into this video gaming phenomenon. And when the DVD's come out I will be adding it to my FNaF Collection!!! As a FNAF fan, I went into the movie with low expectations. I was expecting it to be a generic low budget Willy's Wonderland type of deal but I think it ended up being pretty good ^^ Sure, it's not perfect. There are things that I questioned and such but overall it was great! I'd say like a 7 or 8/10 honestly. Also I think Mathew Lillard was underutilised also. Though I hope in the sequel, we get to see him as a more prevalent threat going forwards.

Seems to be a case of the movie not knowing what it wants to be. It wants to appeal to new fans but also leaves references for older fans. Yet, because they want to include everyone, it results in a tonal whiplash where it is uncertain what audience they are trying to appeal to.
100% spot on
as a fan i kinda gotta agree, but i still thought that this movie was good. not perfect, nothing is, but a good movie in my eyes. a reward to all fans who waited this long and the achievements the fandom has accomplished over the years.

I hope at some point we will get a lore accurate movie about the first 6 games and williams rise to being a serial killer.
One of the best examples of this is people saying Springtrap’s jumpscare in the third game wasn’t scary. So what does Scott do? He makes FNaF 4, the scariest game in the series. I fully agree with you when you say that Scott will learn from his mistakes to make the next movie even better.

What baffled me the most is how the series is most famous for its jumpscares, yet none of the animatronics caused any jump scares.

I hope they do make a sequel bc this will be a memory I will never forget

Warning minor spoilers ahead:
I've been a fan since the beginning of Fnaf in 2014, and when it got announced there will be a movie about it in 2015 I got excited and waited alllllll this time for this movie to come out.

Look if we make this movie a hit we will get more Matthew Lillard/Springtrap action in the next films that will go absolutely crazy.

Great review 3C as always

don’t let it get to you that bad 💀
Thanks :)
Wow, an actually detailed review that doesn't go "only good" or "only bad"? I am pleasantly surprised.
No matter what people may say about the movie, this movie will always hold a special place for the fans
Agreed!
I can agree 😊
ok
It's trash lmao the whole franchise is 💀

I’m definitely going to see this movie again in theaters. And I’m positive that they’re saving Matthew Lillard for the second movie. Oh boy if it comes to fruition
Words can’t describe how much I’ve been waiting for this video
Also Chris, great taste in shirts
I’m on my 3rd screening(in the theatre waiting for it to start rn) as a mega fan that’s been following since Markipliers first video, and it’s everything I could’ve asked for, definitely a 10/10
I saw it last night and loved it ,,,for a pg 13 film Blumhouse did a awesome job…but my biggest complaint is that there was no movie merch at my local theatre ,I would of loved a cupcake popcorn bucket or a Bonnie cup…cheers from australia
That dream theory book is a reference to an old theory in the fanbase
Your review is the only one I trust.
Love your videos Chris. Keep it up. Your videos truly make my day ❤
I’m going to make this short and simple.
Haven’t seen the movie but just by viewing the teasers and trailers I can already tell you don’t know what you’re talking about
@tactical-funky9565 the movie was made for the fans of the series. If your not a fan, you won't like it, if your a fan you'll love it.
@@tactical-funky9565I wouldn't say it's a cash grab. But it was too much given to the fans and not enough given to the quality.
@@Deadly-MikeAndIkethis wasn’t for the fans lol
This movie could’ve been way better than what we got but what we got was a cash grab
Loved this movie so much. As a fan it was almost emotional.
The credits! Man, i shed a tear
That Cat in The Hat comparison was my Danny DeVito "I get it" moment
3C: This is a spoiler free review!
Also 3C: When Matthew Lillard is chasing people around with a knife in the suit it's awesome!
...okay then. Guess I don't need to see the movie since I know what happens.
Exactly. Not sure why 3C spoiled that. I never played the games, so had no idea.
Wow this movie actually hit and it was amazing for only being 1h 50 mins this included so much in it and I love it
I've been a FNaF Fan since 2015 when the 3rd game came out.
(This is mainly from the Vanessa character play by Elizabeth Lail & Steve raglan/William afton played by Matthew Lillard)
Rating of the characters
The animatronics: Freddy, bonnie, chica, foxy, spring bonnie and Easter egg animatronics. (that were made by the Jim Henson creature company) 10/10
Mike Schmidt - josh hutcherson= 10/10
Abby Schmidt - piper Rubio= 10/10
Officer Vanessa - Elizabeth Lail=7/10
Steve raglan/William afton - Matthew Lillard= 10/10
Aunt Jane - Mary Stuart Masterson= 7.2/10
Max - kat Conner Sterling= 8/10
Hank - Christian stokes= 9/10
Background/ other characters= 6/10
My overall rating?
Despite the flaws that the movie has, it is a really good film for fans of the series that have been with it since 2014 to have fun with, and for pre-teens as-well that want to get into this video gaming phenomenon.
And when the DVD's come out I will be adding it to my FNaF Collection!!!
For a FNaF Fan rating I give it a: 8.5/10
For general audience's I give it a: 6.2/10
BRING ON FNAF MOVIE 2 BLUMHOUSE & SCOTT BRING IT ON!!!!!!!!
Thanks really helpful
As a FNAF fan, I went into the movie with low expectations. I was expecting it to be a generic low budget Willy's Wonderland type of deal but I think it ended up being pretty good ^^
Sure, it's not perfect. There are things that I questioned and such but overall it was great! I'd say like a 7 or 8/10 honestly.
Also I think Mathew Lillard was underutilised also. Though I hope in the sequel, we get to see him as a more prevalent threat going forwards.
i mean he said the funny afton line so surely
He did say he signed a contract for 3 movies.
@made4changedon’t know what your on but the movie was 🔥 imo but I can’t see the reason why the entire film is a joke because they built a pillow fort
@made4change I thought it was enjoyable, that is just my opinion lol
You didn’t like it? That’s cool. Everyone is gonna think differently about it 💀
@made4change becuase you don't speak for every single fnaf fan? Wow? What? Good luck forcing your opinion on others throats. You must be very controlling.
Great review! Thanks for mentioning how this lines up with kids and it being a gateway horror, my son and I will definitely be checking it out now!
Always looking forward for your reviews!
Chris, you’re looking thin. Whatever you’re doing, you’re looking great. Keep up the good work my guy. Always in support for you and your content. 10/10 my man
