Interesting video - when I saw the title I initially thought it was going to be about the round 4 game. While the original king march in the game against Kothari may not have been that amazing, I still think it was impressive how a) you walked back your king and made sure to play safe moves in the process and b) how you regrouped, improved your position again and actually managed to win the game in the end. It would have been easy to tilt after the king march into the open and then the centre opening with all the heavy pieces still around. Also, calmly recovering and rebuilding after ending up in a weird position after the king had to walk back, was really instructive in terms of psychology and optimism/realism after setbacks. Congrats on your overall 2000+ performance in the English Championships!
Thanks for the comment Sven 😄 Yeah, I remember thinking in round 4 that I was being over ambitious in the opening with my c5 and b4 push. But I wanted to gamble and see if I can get away with it (since if I can, and don't get punished immediately, I'd come out with a positional advantage on that side of the board and something to play for). Somehow Kxd2 looked better than Bxd2 to support a quick Bd3 development. Risky chess, but it paid off! Thanks for the congratulations too!!
@@GreaterJan that doesn’t mean you’re 2200 classical strength. There’s probably tons of people higher rated than 2500 for blitz online that aren’t titled players

Good luck for the final round. Are you doing game recaps after the tournament?
I could, but I have a feeling it will take 5+ hours to recap all my thoughts from all the games 🤣 will see how I'm feeling about doing this!
Bro is 200 points underrated and worried about "losing Elo"
How do you know he’s 200 points underrated? That would imply he’s 2200 CM level
@@averagejoe5016 he's 2500 Lichess blitz and rapid

I don't want to see this terrible game ever again 😭
