As one with two torn shoulders, I understand fully what you’re going through.
Good luck with your heal up. Follow the doc’s recovery orders to the letter. Shoulders are the most likely to need a second surgery because people feel good and think they are healed up long before all the muscles have knit back together. They over do it and re-injure themselves.
    Happy New Year, Gary!
    Cheers!

I dont blame you, I had a similar operation 25 years ago due to my right shoulder dislocating too many times. Hope you recover as thoroughly and quickly as I did Gary, After 6+ weeks Id lost 80% of my muscle, I had an arm and body cast to stop me using it, fortunately for me I was still a young man at the time. So I feel your frustration. All the best and get well soon. Happy New year, cheers 🍻

Heal well. I look forward to your future videos. May 2022 be a good year for you. Please do not try to do too much too soon with your shoulder, it will only set things back long term at best - from one who had shoulder surgery a year ago. They say 3 months to basically heal to the place you can start putting a bit of pressure on it, then itself and steady that wins any race - hurrying things won't help with getting back to doing what you need. Please take it from someone who went through it, and I was one of the luck ones. Xx

As a farrier for about forty years as a side career I have to tell you I truly enjoyed watching your videos of your shoeing as well as your blacksmithing skills. I had the same surgery in twenty twelve when a half draft pulled my arm with his back right leg so hard he dismantled most of what was already damaged from the years of struggling with horse that refused to simply allow me to help them. Unlike you I got back into it after recovery on a small scale, mostly trims and have taught myself not to try to out strengthen a twelve hundred pound animal. Good luck with whatever endeavor you choose and please provide videos, you have a way of presenting your skills in such a way anyone with common sense can follow you and benefit from watching you.

Gary, Every farrier I hae ever known has had the same issues that you are having now, also every welder has similar issues plus a few (eyesight, hearing, neck and back problems) others, working men/women get used up in this world, perhaps it is a good thing to share your knowledge and help those following in your footsteps to avoid the mistakes that we all make doing the trades that we love. I have enjoyed everything that you have shared, you still have a lot to give to the community of honest hard working men and women of the world so keep on sharing., cheers brother!

Thanks fo the journey so far Gary. One chapter ends, a new one begins ... THE best shoeing vids. I enjoyed and learnt a lot from seeing you in action.
Really looking forward to more smithing and workshop vids. Entertaining and informative. I love the warts and all, mistakes, and advice you give, but particularly the explanations you give. You give insight into how a smith works and solves problems to get the job done. It's that insight, of how a smith might think out of the box that is so special.

You’ll do well Gary. You’re multi talented and sometimes us older guys need to take it a little easier. I’ve got the same shoulder that causes agonizing pain and limited on what I can do. I’ve opted to hold off because I’m just not prepared mentally for 6 months of down time. I’ve had the CT scan and MRI so I’m aware of what I’m in for.I live on a small farm and love doing my thing. Not being able to drive would cramp my life since I’m alone now.
