Was stationed there with the US Army in 2003. The first street you drove up after turning off the main street through Itaewon was Hooker Hill. The entire street was lined with Russian and Korean girls (not lady boys). They would run out into the street and try to pull you into their “bars”. It was a great time to be alive 😁

Sounds like a great time to be alive! I imagine Seoul was a lot different 18 years ago, i'd pay a lot of money to be able to travel back and see how things have changed! Would you ever come back to Seoul? 👊

@@PirateDan Absolutely! I’d love to return and learn more about Korean culture now that I’m a bit more mature and older. Back then all we cared about was partying. Regardless, I love South Korea and I’m grateful for having the opportunity to live there for 12 months.

@@PirateDan I was stationed in Korea from '98 to '00. Partied my ass off every weekend in Itaewon. Usually till 9 or 10am in the morning. I actually visited Seoul for three nights in 2017. Went back to Itaewon for two nights. My last night there, I partied till 6am then I had to leave to make it to the airport in time. So wasted I went to the wrong airport, lol. I still made my flight though. Hooker Hill was dead. King Club was not even open. Everything died over there because the US Army moved further south. I will deff be back before I die.

I was there in 98. Good night is starting at the clubs, then doing a thunder run up hooker hill. Start at the bottom where the burgerking was, stopping at every drinky girl bar along the way for a kettle. When you hit Polly's kettle house, that's the turn-around. Head back down on the other side of the street. Since those were the uglier girls, they were much prettier by the time you got to them.

While in the US Army, I played in a Korean Rock n Roll band on Hooker Hill in Iteawon from '68 - '70. There were 6 main clubs that catered to the American GI's. My band eventually became rather famous in Korea. We played 7 nights a week. It was the best time of my life.

Oh,,,my beloved Hooker Hill. I called myself the unofficial tour guide, when Newbies came into country. I was stationed there 85-87. That HILL was full of people. Taxis, GI's and bar girls standing outside, and the hookers you had to fight off. They would physically grab you, try to lure you in their dark alleyway. Place was boppin full of Rock and Country Bars. At the top was our Kettle shop to get our Kettle of SOJU. The Bastard Club your in front of was back then, the HEAVY METAL CLUB. Probably biggest and post popular at the time , along with THE KING CLUB..right up the street.

The hill looks familiar but I recall it dead ending at the top. Was there 80 - 83 was stationed south of Seoul(Anjeong-ri) but spent many weekends in Itaewon drinking OB Beer. The hill looked about the same then as it does in this video. The Silver Waves club right across the street from the bastard club-or heavy metal club back then. All I recall about the Silver Waves was they played music at about 3db above pain.

He had apparently got lost and stopped to ask a lady for who was stood at the side of the road for directions.
