This machine can do lovely nice soft tones, most of the walk throughs focus on the harder sounds. It can do some great BOC style pads, basses and leads…
Here now, a few hours late. Thanks so much for sharing your vast array of keyboards with us. This really is a moment each Wednesday when I can get away from this messed up world, relax a bit and enjoy your videos! Thanks
Good complete video. One thing you missed was that Inbetween the two ramps( ie. with the pointer vertical) of the 'MG1' knob is a tiny place where the frequency is multiplied.
Not paraffinic, this beautiful synth is the best quadraphonic analog synth, my favorite instrument from Korg. 😅👍 I had bad experiences with deceptive sellers and it's like the fucking wild west, and to avoid that I prefer to buy new things with a 3-year warranty. I have a Behringer monopoly but before I had an original where the keyboard circuit was damaged by bad soldering from a botched repair. So I decided to go back to mono/poly even though it's not original, to be able to have similar things and with the same flowflow and feel of a mono/poly.
Paraphonic means multiple voices through one filter, so the Mono/Poly is in fact paraphonic but not duophonic, which I think is what you mean. It's terrible when you buy any used synth and the seller wasn't honest about the condition it was in. My RE-501 tape echo was like that, a nightmare and expensive to repair. I would probably do the same as you and go with the Behringer version if that had happened to me!
@@VultureCulture If Behringer really also gives an opportunity to those who were deceived with used originals, I returned to the same workflow, thanks to them and thanks to Korg with their MS-20FM that has me in love with its strange sounds. In musical terms, paraphony is a term used in vernacular music to refer to consonances that are based on intervals of fifths and fourths. Mono/poly is still musically polyphonic, although technologically it will be paraphonic. Korg never referred to the technological aspect, it was an exclusively musical definition and that paraphonic synthesizer is a bit misleading, because my MS-20 FS does that false duophony, but it allows me to play 2-note chords with the pachbay trick. The korg minilogue is real polyphonic, but I don't think it's easy to repair when the polyphony starts to fail and it's a machine made of cheap materials. I bought a jupiter 6 with 2 dead voices in 1998 very cheap that's why when it was sold for parts. I saved money and in 2002 I achieved the complete 6 voices. Now I really enjoy it, but always with the fear that some voice will die in the future. 🫣
@56:17 brief ARP fun, where the MonoPoly action is at
@1:38:51 polymetric ARP from one LFO and filter with the other

It's surprisingly mellow, although maybe I should have expected that considering it's sister, the Polysix is the warmest synth I own.

That's the greatest compliment I can receive 🙏
Thank you for hanging out with us, I'm glad you enjoy the streams

Holy shit! 🤯 That's crazy!
Thank you for pointing that out 🙏
Beast of a thing. Was going to get one but now redirecting to a JX3P or Juno 106 instead.
I'd rather have a JX-3P with a Retroaktiv controller (~$1,500) over a Mono/Poly (~$2,500) over a Juno 106 (~$2,000) 🤮
@@VultureCulture So you think the JX3P is better as a synth than the 106? Or were you talking just from a cost viewpoint?
I wonder how this compares to the Behringer MonoPoly? I have thought about getting a Behringer version.
From comparison videos I'd say they sound really close
Bro, great content, thank you👍🤟🖤
Glad you're enjoying it 🙏
