All of these reactions start the same "USA wild, can't get better" etc etc. And then Europe says "hold my beer, sucker" 🤣🤣

In the US, you go to a game.
In Europe, you go to a battle that has been rages for generations and will carry on for centuries to come.

Those first German fans were OUTSIDE the stadium hence all the trees next to them. Those Ahax Amsterdam fans were in the Car Park either before or after the game. Those St Etienne, France and Swedish(actually the original caption was wrong as they are Norwegian) were AWAY in another Country.St Etienne were at Manchester United of The English Premier League.

the one from Greece is actually from basketball and before the game it was a 40 min (not sure if it was longer) black out in the area where the stadium is so thats why they had their phones and the flares, to light up the place

To answer your question about feeling comfortable there are basically 4 main sectors to sit 2 for the ultras (jumping and flares stuff) and two neutral ones for families etc. and these are way more quiet. #fcbasel

This isn’t even the best atmosphere too. Go to a lower league match. Way less people, less pyro, more passion. Clubs are communities and you’ll never let a community show more passion than you, don’t matter if they’re rich or not.

I am really european (danish living in Luxembourg, speaking 4 languages). And this can look a bit scary (it is now).
And it is for me being a bit all around from europe.
The 2 last bigest wars in the world where from europe (14-18 and 40-45)... there is a war in Ukraine now... we seriously "chilled out" since WW2 but if we don't stop this/those wars going on right now we may see havock again (so much rage contained).
So back to the subject of fans etc and what I was saying... imagine putting that energy times 100 (because of people and family you know dying... not just rooting for your city but defendind your country etc) into a war again ?
You see how you can gain energy and even rage from crowds... let us not do it !
Yea, sorry, a bit of a drama queen here :(

America is a couple hundred years old. In Europe we have rivalries that are older than that. We are warlike!
Our ancestors used to fight and on battlefields with swords and axes and chant to one another before slaughtering each other. It all stems from that.
My two local football clubs are over 100 years old and have been fighting each other since then.

I come from the hague in the netherlands. From my city comes the club ADO Den Haag. I’ve been going to their matches kind off regularly since I was like 3 or 4 years old, and I have seen an innumerable counts of riots and fights against opposite fans and the police. It can even get to the point the police sends cavalry charges with groups of like 14 police horses straight into the mobs (and those horses fkng are huge).

I love the game but would never put my kids watching eastern europe football, sadge... we had good players for once..

You should support Tottenham we haven’t won a trophy since 2008 despite regularly fighting for the title. If your not a glory hunter you’ll support Tottenham or a club towards the bottom of the table and if your lucky you can go on a journey with them and watch them rise.
