I have this same bag and I'm 6', 3" 315lbs and I go George Foreman on this thing and it holds well, if anyone is interested in buying I definitely would do so. Great video bro!
Thats good news I have been searching and searching free standing bags with relations to the product and human height. I am 6'5" so I take it this should do the trick...I dont want to be punching downward.
Thank you! a lot of the other videos are too much talking and they're just tapping the bag, It's nice to see a big guy giving it some power! I know it's worth buying now.
well said... still unsure if the noise from the base is due it being on concrete though... im trying to figure how it would be in an apartment on top of those EVA foam interlocking mats that are nearly an inch thick. People generally prefer the standard heavy bag for the swing.. but at the end of the day not all heavy bag set ups allow for 360. circular movement... something like this does and it doesnt seem like the base would interfere with the front foot at all. Im just unsure if it would be ok when working on power, or doing punch out drills for conditioning..
Thanks, great review! I talked my 25 yo niece into buying this rather than a heavy/sand bag. She's studying Krav Maga for self defense. Anyway, I worked out for years in the late 90's & 2000's and my wrists have become somewhat arthritic. I have osteo-arthritis and my wrists/lower thumb joints have been the first thing to cause me pain and weakness. Thanks you for the video. Going to get her this for Christmas 2022. I looked at the Everlast Elite but it looks cheap and has a lot of reviews that reflect that. And the fightcamp or whatever brand is like $1200.
Great video review. I appreciate that you spent a bit of time on putting the bag together but didn't focus on it too much. It is very difficult to find video of someone with both size and skill hitting any of these freestanding bags. I could see that you were snapping some nice shots in there and it wasn't falling over - I think that is the biggest question of anyone thinking of picking up one these bags (it was mine anyways). You had a good balance of commentary and demonstration. Thanks so much for the information!
@@Fubuwil You're a big dude, thanks for reviewing this because I was curious how much power it could take. Is there any way to fill the center column with sand so that high punches/kicks won't push the base around too much? My only issue with the reviews I've seen is everyone punches down to center and not punching shoulder height or higher. I'm 5'9" and did muay thai & boxing for 10 years, we were always taught to punch at least shoulder height. I appreciate any feedback and thanks again for making the video! Very helpful
@@johnmaurer3097 what's up man, I'd say it stands up to kicks with water in the basement just fine (sits at 270 lbs). However, you can definitely add sand and increase the bag's overall weight to about 320 lbs. One thing I'll say is that it's probably better with 1-shot kicks vs rapid fire, but everyone's style and technique are different
I gonna buy the 2XL PRO from Amazon, watched a lot of reviews of wavemaster large bag recently. The difference is your video shows ‘ input and output ‘ so I can have a good guess on how much the bag can stand. That’s what I want, fantastic video and btw precise strong punches there. 👊🏽👍🏽
Almost went with this, but found out that RDX has a freestanding bag now. Stabilization seems better and it's significantly cheaper than the XXL. Might be something you want to try out!
@@greymatter8817 It's good so far, haven't put a ton of abuse on it yet, but build quality seems solid. Water is sufficient so far, but sand will make is super solid.
I bought one and filled up with sand they make loads of noise u are better with a heavy bag . Defo no good for an apartment loads of noise ok for a garage or garden.
Nice video.?strongly considering this bag. Consequently I want this for mma so idk if it’s worth it cause the kicks will force it to topple over. What is your review on an update on this? Has it buckled or bent?
Nice. I definitely recommend this bag for strikes - both punches and kicks. I've knocked it over once with both, but you'd have to load up to the max to do it. With practical combos and more than considerable power it'll stay standing. Filling it up with water puts it at 270 lbs - should be plenty, if you really need more you can use sand as well for a max of about 320 lbs. Now as far as grappling goes, you'll probably want one of the dummy bags with a simulated human body, but of course it's not practical for striking. Hope that helps!
was the base empty when you film this video? if you have any other video's when its filled with water or sand, that would be great. Thanks for the video btw, much appreciated.
Hey, yea so the base was filled with water here in this video. I filled it just about an inch and a half from the brim which puts it around 270 lbs in weight. I was slammin it fairly hard which you can see in the video, it moves, but doesn't tilt - which i believe is very important. Moving is ok because it trains you to move as well. Tilting is a problem because it of course has to tilt back the opposite way and can disrupt rhythm. If you fill it with water and sand i believe it goes up to 320 lbs... 270 lbs is more than enough for a solid workout though. In this video im about 245 lbs, 6ft. It works well.
I’ve been thinking of filling with steel shot to stop moving/tipping it would be expensive to do but I’m willing to pay if it works but can’t find anybody online who has done it. Would it stop the tipping ect or you think it would be a waste and should just fill with sand anyone please?
Hey man I have the exact model you have and I got mine used and was wondering if your screw thing to put the bag in does the screw just sit on the ground and not the bag
Haha I've actually wondered that myself, I believe it fits on the bag. Though I can honestly say I've never seen it interrupt use of the bag either way. How or where do you have it set up?
@@Fubuwil I just put the screw thing allinged with the bottom piece and than hold it in place than it just sits on the ground untill I tighten the bag but the bag wiggles alot
@@adamlaursen7769 yea so basically that's how it'll work, it wiggles but it's a good thing, I mention that in the video, you don't want to hit a firm target like that, it'll mess your shoulders and wrists up
Has anyone ever ordered directly from Century? Do you know how their customer service is? This will be my first punching bag and I'm trying to do as much research as I can before I invest.
I haven't ordered from century, just from Amazon, though century is a reputable company, good presence of their social pages, you should be fine ordering from them
Yes my G nice video and u pack a punch. The bag needs to be screwed in more so it actually touches the base tightly. Century have made a video to say dont stop screwing it an the first lock it will seem like its done but u have to screw it in more (may take 2 people)…….when you was punching it the was turning in the base which means you stopped at the first locking position. It will stop the rattling everytime u punch. It’ll feel sterdy but not damage the hands and wrists.
@@jackl3102 i just got the xxl pro and has the second lock but i think the rattle could be the base on the floor rather than the stem and the base…. So my bad but defo has second lock theres another video of a martial arts teacher putting it together and after using a screw diver in the small hole located on the locknut to get that second lock
I think the newer version has two locks on the stem of the bag and a base with 3 pieces. I have the previous version (same as the one from this video based on the graphics of the bag) where the base has only 2 pieces. And upon examining the thread at the stem of the bag, I can confirm there is only one locking groove.
