They were the most popular act of their era. Jerry was more popular than Dean, because everyone loves a funny guy. But, Jerry later admitted that Dean was way underrated, and a mega talent, who had to put up with Jerry's popularity. They didn't speak for 20 years after the split, and both admitted, they never really knew why. Jerry later said, that his happiest times, were when he was with his partner, and always considered Dean, his best friend.
Jerry interrupting Dean is the essence of the gags they did in the beginning (1946) when they weren't even officially a duo. They created a sensation. For a time people didn't even realise that Jerry's interruptions were part of the act. In fact at first it was totally impromptu from Jerry and Dean would respond with a great rejoinder.. That must have been something else. Which this whole show was here. they were not getting on well by this time although it was supposed to be better live than on film sets. Great act!
there is always the same funny laugh on the background (the one on 2:10) and I think is someone from the band, because even on radio shows I hear it on every single episode 🤣
I am a little confused as to exactly what Dean was trying to do to Jerry at the end there, but it was all for fun, you could tell. Love this clip and thank you for sharing it. :)
Martin Lewis Well, mostly it was part of the act, but as this was in 1955, at which time they’d already had several public spats and a year later were to finally break up for good, you can’t help wondering if perhaps Dean was letting his real-life frustrations show just a little bit here. After all, we don’t know, and can’t know for sure, if any arguments had occurred between them before the show.
Even back then people were dressing promiscuously with skin showing! My neighbor looked just like jerry and he died young never know when your times up better get right with Jesus people
Dean had one of the best voices in the business.

this is not at the sands. this is from the colgate comedy hour. they set the stage to look like a nightclub and later sing every street’s a boulevard.

Martin Lewis Ya, I felt the same
Dean was fed up with the parking boy and when the parking boy's brother showed and looked a little less dummy, Dean took revenge on him.
