I found a Vespa Sprint that's from 2015 and looks like new in the photos he sent me. Originally a 50 cc, it's been upgraded to a 70 cc engine. Is it worth $2400? Or should I buy a cheap bicycle or ciao for now´, just to get around town this Summer and save up for a motorcycle license costing $3500, then invest in a real Vespa 300 cc or motorcycle instead? I'm wondering about the value for money and if the 70 cc upgrade offers significant advantages over the 50 cc. What are your thoughts on starting out with 70 cc? I'd appreciate your advice so I don't end up regretting a second-hand Vespa purchase online. Thanks for your insights!
Hi there! Thanks for your comment and for sharing the details about the Vespa Sprint you're considering. Here's my take on your situation: Vespa Sprint 70 cc Upgrade: Pros: The upgrade from 50 cc to 70 cc does provide more power, which can be beneficial for quicker acceleration and a slightly higher top speed. This can make a noticeable difference in city traffic and for short trips around town. Cons: However, the upgrade can also put additional strain on the engine and other components, potentially leading to higher maintenance costs in the long run. Ensure the upgrade was done professionally and check for any warranty or guarantees. Value for Money: Price: $2400 for a 2015 Vespa Sprint with a 70 cc upgrade seems a bit high, especially considering it's a second-hand purchase. You might want to compare prices with similar models in your area or online to ensure you're getting a fair deal. Condition: If the Vespa is in excellent condition as described and has a full service history, it could justify the price. Be cautious of photos alone; try to inspect the scooter in person or have a trusted mechanic check it out if possible. Alternative Options: Cheap Bicycle or Ciao: These are great low-cost options for getting around town, especially for short distances. They can help you save money while you prepare for your motorcycle license. Motorcycle License and Bigger Vespa/Motorcycle: Investing in a motorcycle license opens up more options for you in the future. A 300 cc Vespa or motorcycle will offer significantly more power and versatility for various riding conditions. Starting with 70 cc: If you’re new to riding, starting with a 70 cc could be a good stepping stone. It’s less intimidating than jumping straight to a 300 cc motorcycle, and you'll gain valuable riding experience. Ultimately, the decision comes down to your immediate needs, budget, and long-term plans. If you’re looking for a quick and practical solution for this summer, the Vespa Sprint could work, but make sure to do your due diligence on its condition and value. If you can wait and prefer to invest in something more powerful and versatile, saving up for the motorcycle license and a larger scooter or bike might be the better route. Hope this helps, and happy riding!
@@PinDropRider thanks! Ya, I see… I did feel the price is too high… I thibk the seller feel offended to sell too low due to having taken care of it well according to himself and that is why he cling on the price…. But gonna check who made the upgrades and if there is a way to confirm its’s condition rather than just his words over the internet… seems like is hard to but second hand today as people want really high prices for things like the Vespa brand and feel offended if you ask for a lower price but they are not open for going through the details of when and how the service been done…😅 Kind regards, Christopher
There are a few things I can list about scooters: - Lower seat height: Easier to get on and off. - Smaller engine size: Makes it easier to maneuver around the city. - Automatic transmissions: No gear shifting required. - More storage: Convenient for carrying items. - Better suited for urban and short commutes. Cheers.
Its look so fun
Indeed it is. I go on it every opportunity I get to run errands.
