It I had to name one angler to catch a fish-to save my life, it would be you Steve. Yes I know it’s your job too but thank you for inviting us in to share in your adventures. That looks a lovely lake and a nice place to be at this time of year too. That historic 20 up getting ever closer but probably harder to achieve too. You can do it! Then once you have done it, which you will, my advice is take you and Joan on a trip to Thailand to hunt for a 200lb Thai carp, you would love it!
As usual , superb video Steve ; what a session . You stuck at it through all those storms , and regarded with that colossal fish right at the end . Wonderful stuff ❤👍
Thanks for making these lovely videos... I loved this. We travel quite a bit around Portugal we are literally around 2 hours away...more closer to Spain but will definitely be giving this venue a go.
Well done steve ,18 countries with 50's amazing achievement. I chatted with them at the same show , they were lovely, putting Portugal carping on the map!!!
Fantastic as per usual Steve and Joan🎣 just to mention I went on holiday to Tenerife about 20 years ago and there was a bill board outside the hotel saying carp fishing trips 35 euros!!! So I went on one and caught some wackers😁 just thought I would mention it as didn't know if you had conqcoured the canaries yet!!!atb to both of you,Danboy🎣
Cheers Danboy that's very interesting yes we've been to the canaries a few times and caught from a couple of lakes - no 50's though 😁 not been to Tenerife though.
yes more mirrors and bigger average size too (I had probably 20 fish that I didn't film) I think maybe just that swim 5 had been left alone for a couple of weeks?!
I’ve been a fan for like 30 years Steve, your Morocco article planted the seed for that trip, been to BEO twice now. I’ve message Joáo a few weeks ago about making a booking next year 👍🏻
Always look forward to this Steve, my happy watch!. Shame I missed you at Sandhurst, got stuck in traffic🙆♂ Merry Christmas to you and Joan and the happiest fishing New Year.
Thanks yes I don't think there's many that size and I was a bit fortunate to get it right at the end but hopefully there will be more in years to come, it was lovely out in Portugal.
Great video Steve as per usual mate and angling skills you are a globetrotting catching machine lol ,How would u generally approach your uk fishing this very cold and sometimes barren time of year ?regards David
cheers Dave yes I'm fishing a really tough uk lake right now. There's different ways for me it can be single boosted pop ups or maybe zigs, depends on the water, some places in winter zigs are the only way even though I don't like using them really.
@stevebriggs4638 steve our house is ten minutes from monte da roncha the year before last they where in their launching a lot of fish in a boat to remove them some lovely carp too they were talking about pumping water down from the north it has dropped massively over the last few years still alot of carp in there I fish it every morning when we are over that's only four times a year santa Clara is another beautiful place in Portugal with some bangers
@@lukeframpton3671 thanks Luke that's interesting it was a long time ago now (1998) when I fished there but loads of carp and full of crayfish too. The local fisherman befriended us and showed us pictures of some decent fish he'd caught from there that looked 30lb plus, never did fish Santa Clara but that looked the best of the lot I did hear years ago that it had done fish to 37lb
@stevebriggs4638 I think they removed my reply Steve I don't do Facebook or Instagram how do I contact you we are moving to Portugal for good In the next few years know some special places out there
The mirror looks 59 common looks 61 but forget the weight what a session getting the man who always has a angler 2feet away casting straight out to a lake you might not see another angler for miles lol
Always a joy to see you and Joan having fun and catching fish ❤
Thanks Neil it was a nice adventure even if a bit wet!!!
Saving the best to last💪🏻🎣 just watched it with Shaz..top man Steve. You & Joan everything which is good about carp fishing 👏🏻
