  • The boys go out for a ride on their bikes, while dad takes a walk with his cine camera, from Harvist Road, Queens Park, across Salusbury Rd and up Brondesbury Road. We see children playing outside on the steps of run down Victorian houses, building works, children playing in a pile of sand outside one of the houses, a local shop (C Worrell Tropical and Continental Foods), some of the locals, a short glimpse of Kilburn High Road, and some boys playing on a garage roof.
    Technical info:
Shot by Dr Stanley Solomons on Kodak Super 8 film,
using a Eumig Mini 5 camera.

It's so nice to see the area I grew up in before my birth, I know all the roads so nice.

Wow! I was living in Brondesbury Road in 1975. I was 5 but wasn't allowed to play out on the street. Looked like some of the other nearby streets including Salusbury road too.

Your dad was our family doctor.
    The Baileys and Simeones.
Our back garden backed onto your dads.
    Thank you for this memory.

I remember the Baileys! Didn't you have a terrible problem with a tree root undermining your wall and have to have some major structural work done? Around mid to late 70s?

@@BurlSolomons it would have made me 10 but that does sound familiar.
I spent most of my childhood living above the grocers on salusbury road.
I remember dad if I'm right as an imposing big man but a lovely man and didnt he have a Volvo?
Mum Dad and sister lived there. Throughout this period

At the scene 1:29, on the right-hand side of the road, unless I am mistaken, is where queens park library was and is still situated.
I lived at number 52 Rathbone house on the Kilburn square estate in 1975.
I'd love to see clips of everyday life at that time.

I was an A-level student before going to Manchester University in 1979.
First movie I watched after landing London, was 'Grease' on 14 Sept 1978, at the CLASSIC cinema, along Kilburn High Road, next to the Kilburn Tube Station.
