I love these vango tents. I love that in cooler weather when bug season is over that you can ditch the inner and use it with the groundsheet as more as a tarp tent. Sheds a good few grammes when you want to carry a heavier sleeping bag and more clothing etc.
Belter of a shelter. Can’t believe you found it so cheap. I’ve had two in the past. Very versatile. I used to remove the inner if the fly sheet had condensation in the morning. Left more room for packing away and making some breakfast in the rain. I packed away in two separate dry bags. If memory serves me well, I think I may have on occasion, left the end poles in and packed it away like that. I replaced the tbs with dyneema cord, same on the guylines, and used lighter pegs, all in 1.3kg , enough room for 6’ overweight me and a spaniel … Loved the review, excellent find…
Ive been thinking about this tent for a while, saving up and umming and ahhing. Definitely a good buy!. There should be a couple of internal guy lines which form a sort of A frame for use in high winds that are supposed to give the tent some real stability. They come in thru a little gap in the inner tent and meet at the ridge.
Yes, I realised that after watching a couple of videos on it. I've got the guy line things and clips and the ones above the inner as well, just a case of threading them through and attaching them I think. I'll have a go the next time I pitch it.
The Helium F10 UL1 model costs between €250 and €299 in Germany depending on the supplier. I ordered the UL1 and the UL2 for comparison, as I really need minimal weight and packing size. I had already considered whether it would be wiser to take the UL2 as it is only 180 grams heavier and the packing size makes a minimal difference, but I think I will stick with the UL1. I am excited about the comparison, I have been comparing and searching for a long time and I think the Vagon Helium F10 UL1 is a good tent.
Yes the tent is a bit worn and aged but that in itself i found educational as its relevant knowedge. Also with this video i got to see what it would be like to live in this tent for space snd motion which is crucial information often poorly covered. Inspired by you picking up bargains on facebook marketplace i tried to use facebook and put in tent as a search term only to get a mass of unrelated chaotic information. Perhaps if i knew an experienced facebook user who could navigate the site. Thx for posting.

Nice video of a nice tent. But why did I have the feeling that I am watching tent review by young Liam Neeson? Surely I am not the first one who says that you sound and look like him 😁

Nice. Not sure I'm brave enough to ditch the inner, I'm not a fan of bugs!
@@TheWalkingKev once bug season is over you're good.
Absolute bargain, as I said before I’ve been trying to get one but bidding usually goes over £150. Well done 👏
Yeah, Facebook remains the place for genuine bargains, but a lot of luck involved.

Cheers, some decent modifications there. I'll try and take it for a camp soon, if I ever find time again!
Very good bargin. I got the the one person one. Still going but the fly zip only just gone after Years of use.
Zips do seem to be a week point. Bet the 1p is very light and compact.
nice size tent for 1-man, plenty of room inside, thanks Kev, great stuff
Cheers, definitely one of my best used buys.

I'm sure it's a very good tent, whether UL1 or UL2. Hope you enjoy it.
A bargain it is ! Well done.
Thanks, seems to be one of my better used buys so far.

It's a bit of a minefield, but worth sticking at for cheap camping gear. Still my best source.
Anybody know what groundsheet to use with this? The Vango GP510 (Helium 2 official groundsheet) is sold out everywhere.
I've no idea, I've not looked into one I'm afraid. Might be best off buying a groundsheet online and cutting it to fit.
Great video
Thanks. Appreciate it.
Kev, you're a jammy bastard haha. I hope you get chance to give it a good test soon 😊
I've had a good chunk of luck with a few of my used buys. Hopefully I'll get out for any kind of camp soon!
I've just got this tent, first pitch went ok, then I realised there was no tab to roll the door back onto the outside 😢
Gutting! Hopefully Vango customer service will get it sorted.
@@TheWalkingKev hope so, I feel like this has been a display tent, there's dust on it and knots in the end guy lines

@@TheWalkingKev it was Amazon, official Vango seller sold by summits outdoors. I've emailed them, I have a vid on my channel

What a tent for 35 bucks!👏
Cheers, I'm looking forward to using it. Plenty of space without a weight penalty.
two person tent? maybe if your on a camping honeymoon!
