  • This video shows sample footage of the new Panasonic FZ2500/2000 point and shoot. The Panasonic FZ2500 is the newest incarnation of the amazing FZ1000. I just got this the Panasonic Lumix two days ago and just could not wait to test out the super high bit depth settings it has for 1080p.
    Although it is also known for its exceptional 4K video capabilities, I knew that the in camera footage on this camera was, on paper, nothing less than stunning.
    I forgot my tripod at the office so it also gave me the chance to show you where I work three days a week. The Quebec City circus school is a hotbed of artistry, creativity, and beauty.

      Diego Diaz Im fine with the slo Mo rates on the fz2500. But I totally understand your dilemma. I must admit there's no such thing as a perfect camera. But this one comes fairly close in my opinion. 👍🎬🎥

      Hey guys. Used it for video last night in low light and it worked really well. As for the RX10 mark 4, I have yet to see any camera in this price range with great slo mo. Slo mo is an unuseable marketing thing at these price levels. You can get the slo mo shots from the 60P all other setting are filled with moire, artifacts, and general mushiness. I have yet to test it on this one but, in general, great slo mo over 60p interpreted is not worth it. It starts to be worth the trouble in the Canon C lines and the FS line by Sony. Also for the zoom distance 480 is 120mm less than the sony. For wildlife or incognito shots could be a deal breaker.

    Hello, very good review, i was testing the VFR, and the 120 looks pretty fuzzy on play back. what should be my record settings and formats when shooting 120 on this guy so i get minimal noise/grain in my play back? i know it obviously has to support VFR just curious on your thoughts! thanks!

    • @JacquesGaines
      @JacquesGaines  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not much to do. The problem with any slo mo in this price range is bit depth when shooting many frames. Only advice I could give is that the less busy the scene is, the less artifacts you will see.

    Hey Jacques, love the videos! Just wondering, please could it be possible for you to do a video explaining the set up of this camera? Using the various recording formats etc and frame rates. Recently bought the FZ2000 as my first ever camera mainly for video, i love it however it's a little daunting! Cheers!

    Hi! Nice video! I was wondering, is there any way to zoom during filming without the footage getting darker with this camera? Also, isn't that 200mb option sometimes worse than the 100mb one? Depending on what you are shooting? The LCPM-thing is sound related by the way! :) At least I know something. xD Thanks!

    • @JacquesGaines
      @JacquesGaines  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      LCPM relates to the audio. as for the 200mp, I have found out, and will talk about the fact in another video, that it its not worth it going up in quality

    Hi, thanks for the sample footage from FZ2500/FZ2000..
    I'd like to know if you can change the aperture/ISO/Shutter during video recording/filming in FZ2500/FZ2000? And does it have audio levels/meters during the video recording/filming even though it has a headphone jack?
    TIA.

      It has all of that plus apeture adjustment during recording. To top it off. Apeture is now not stepped when fully open. Even the FZ 1000 has audio levels during recording. But to be clear, the answer is yes to all your inquiries

      Well as you might have seen on my review. You are stuck with the glass of the 2500 and it ain't pretty. It is really just OK. At least with the GX8 allows you the opportunity to go out and pick and chose the glass. IMHO it is all about the lens. The FZ1000 fell short with its lens but the FZ2500 is really disappointing.

    Hi, should I get the FZ2500 or the G85 for both shooting the still images and 4K/1080p videos?
    Thanks

    • @DavidCelaya
      @DavidCelaya 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      dcacs85 I struggled with the same choice for weeks! I had to purchase gear for my job where i create graphics/photo/video. I finally chose two G85's. I knew I wanted to shoot with two cameras. one always rolling, that I can remotely control and monitor, and the other that I can walk around with shooting video and stills. I was very close to getting one G85 and one fz2500 though. For me the decision came down to my shooting environments. Almost all indoor, not very bright. I think I'll need the faster lenses im getting for the G85 more than the extra zoom of the fz.

      One thing is for sure, if you have low light to deal with, go with the bigger four thirds sensor on the G85. For an amazing, all in one unit you cannot miss with the FZ2000. But if you prioritize stills and low light, take the G85

    Hi Jacques I'm looking at the FZ2500 or the Canon 80D I know you own both so which one would you recommend. I sold my 60D last month so I'm ready to upgrade. Just waiting to see if there are any issues with the FZ2500.

      So far I have had none. I owned the 60D as well. The 80D kicks ass. There is so much to tell you. I guess the best thing is to refer you to my two playlists because the answer can be complex. Watch these and get back to me if you have other questions. Hope that helps!

      @billkujawa 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I'm Leaning more toward the 80d since I already have some Canon glass and I'm very familiar with the menu system. I would buy the C100 mark 2 if I could afford one but maybe later up the road. I will be shooting mostly music videos so for now being able to swap out lenses look's like a better choice for me. I'm also looking at the Devin Graham signature glidecam for some super cool stabilized shots. I'll keep you posted on what I decide.

    Back again question sony ax100 vs fz2500 for video thought about the pwx70 but to many updgrade issues and complaints if I was going to reach that high I would go with the z-150 the quality on this camera is amazing always enjoy your videos.

      The FZ 2500 sort of slapped us all in the face with no more 30 minute recording limit. I am a true fan of XAVC-S. I believe that it is underestimated and destroys Pro res and others. Check by the channel once in a while and you will be able to look at the FZ2500 review.

    Do you think you'll see any increase in quality on TH-cam with the higher bitrates? I'm curious at what bitrate you'll get the best quality once it is compressed.

    • @JacquesGaines
      @JacquesGaines  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The answer to that is a big fat NO. It is also a good point because to me, it will be something used for animation integration, grading, projection work, and things like that. For TH-cam, there is really no gain. As we can even see in this video, the compression destroys the bit depth advantage.

    hI.. Im still on the FZ1000. Just quick question. Why did you said you should avoid AVCHD ? is mp4 on fz1000 is better?

    • @JacquesGaines
      @JacquesGaines  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      No I love AVCHD. I am even a fan. It was amazing for its time though. You can still get decent images with it as well. I personally would go toward MOV all-I for quality and mp4 to save space (for compatibility issues as well). Mac vs PC. Macs now ingest AVCHD but reluctantly. Sony's new XAVC-S (AVCHD's new daddy) us un friggen believable. But to make a long story short AVCHD is still quite good.

      @JacquesGaines  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      No it doesn't because of the lens. I will talk about it in my review. This camera is easily worth its weight in gold but, in my humble opinion, they chinced out on the lens. Still a phenomenal camera in every respect though. Glad you like. Review coming soon

    • @MrPetebuster1
      @MrPetebuster1 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Movingicon you may be right but I'd like to see a side by side comparison, I've seen excellent images from both and you can't tell the difference, I know the Sony has a stack sensor and is supposed to be better but I'm yet to see a comparison and presuming it's a sharp copy of the fz I'd like to if there is much if any difference, I read a lot of opinions on this but am yet to see the evidence, it certainly won't beat it's af speed

    • @MrPetebuster1
      @MrPetebuster1 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Movingicon the trouble is dpreview got it wrong and that's what started this inferior lens syndrome which is nonsense but of course the Sony lens is slightly faster and longer.

    LPCM - Linear pulse code modulation. This means, that the audio is not compressed as it is in other formats, like AAC or MP3 in 128 kbits. LPCM is 16 or 24 bits and typically 48 kilohertz. Much higher sound quality.
