I had raggedy Anne and Andy dolls when I was younger, that my sister and I received from a family friend. I hated them, they were almost always in my closet. The one time I briefly had them on a shelf out of my closet, I lost a toy I had just had, I was looking all over for it, walked out of my room, walked back in shortly after, it was literally on her lap. They were swiftly put away after that. This was before I knew the real Annabelle doll was a raggedy Anne doll 😬 They just never had good vibes.
@@lilpain1997 Just saying my experience; since I was decently young, I could've absolutely just misplaced it somehow and was not seeing it right there when I was searching. But how I explained it, is how my brain remembers it 🤷🏽♀️ I did 100% feel weird about those dolls either way, that I know for sure. That's why they pretty much lived in my closet for many years 😂 Rarely saw the light of day, until I eventually felt like I could get rid of them.
If it makes you feel any better mate, the Warrens (the real people whose stories these films are based on) have been proven time and time again to be kon artists and absolute wafflers, so none of this shit is even remotely real even if it is "based on a true story" :)

1:11 as someone who sews this is the scariest part of the movie. Shes letting the material bunch up which could cause the material and the cotton to get tangled and making it extremely hard to remove and will most likely damage the material/ the thing shes trying to make. Fucking terrifying

Always lovely to see James and Alex too. I love this series so much. I can finally watch horror films without being (too) scared because their commentary/reactions are so hilarious 😂
Great fun! Love these movie binge reactions. What's even stupider about these movies is that the "real life" Annabelle doll is actually a mass-produced Raggedy Anne doll. 🙄

Porcelain dolls aren't even that creepy, so many have just been designed to be so but ones that aren't don't scare me. I have 14 ish in total and all of them sit in my bedroom facing the bed, I've never once had a nightmare about them.
Movies you could watch: Flushed away Mr Bean’s holiday The despicable me trilogy The minions movies Diary of a wimpy kid 1, 2, 3 and 4 The Lorax The simpsons movie Over the hedge
Guys, if next year you want a better series of movies, I recommend the REC films. Arguably the scariest I've seen given the genre and it has 4 movies. The 1st and 3rd are works of art. The others are passable but fun watches. They are from Spain, so they're in spanish, but James being Trilingual should give you the edge.
I love the sheer difference in reactions from everyone. From the one that's like "how is this scary" to the one that literally craps his pants every single minute 😂
Yeah, they most definitely were real people. Ed and Lorraine were also the "paranormal investigators" behind the Amityville Horror stuff. Ghost hunting is huge here in the states.
It's so funny seeing them angrily react to the teenagers in the third film. Me and my sister had the same reactions towards that brunette when we first saw it
a vast majority of horror films do rely on sound design (sudden noises, volume change, creepy sounds) to make a mundane visual scary, kind of the whole point of jumpscares lol. but there’s a difference between films like the first annabelle and hereditary. sometimes silence is so much more powerful and terrifying because of the tension and unpredictability we hate so much. i wasn’t a big fan of horror films, i still can’t tolerate the gory kind, but i did start enjoying the adrenaline rush it gives me, which is what the audience craves
In the town I grew up in there was an old lady who lived beside a church in a house full of dolls. Walls from floor to ceiling were customized into doll shelves, each one had its name and make year underneath it and it went all the way to her bedroom. If you came by on Halloween she would invite you in, give you a dollar to get a soda (or two depending on the year) from the machine across the road, write down your name to help her remember if she'd already given you a dollar that night, and then kindly send you on your way. She died a few years ago and even though I think dolls are super fucking creepy, I hope her dolls found a good home after she passed because she put a life's worth of love and care on them. (and surprisingly, they were mostly cute dolls at least, though still a lot of porcelain ones blugh)
the doll the possessed girl gets in the second film is a replica of the real anabelle doll which actually resulted in the deaths of people and really is locked in bullet proof casing and is baptized
I've never seen these movies but they honestly would have been so much better if they just used a doll that looks like the real life annabelle instead of some obviously scary one
I watched Annabelle creation with my friend, and there was a giant jumpscare and then loadshedding happened, so all the lights in my house turned off. We ran out the room screaming. 10/10 experience

After I'd cut the guy out of my life, I ended up watching all three and honestly laughed at a lot of it.
