I've never seen someone understand start bench sell less than Joe. Got him a point in the end though
I have to say I prefer his interpretation, trying to put the question in some real life setting, rather than just having the question be list 3 players best to worst.

You people have some weird definitions of "ball playing". I have NEVER seen him ping a 60 yarder for an assist, EVER! Can't lace Hummels boots when it comes to that. He's average and error prone.
the thing is, England need to play a 343 with the defenders they have. Stones, White, and Tomori would easily be the best back line and players like Chilwell, Trent, and Reece James would be excellent as wing backs. as for the midfield, it should 100% be a pairing of Rice and Bellingham running that midfield. Talents like Kane and Foden and Mount and Sterling would all benefit from a free flowing forward line that has a lot of support coming from the wingbacks as well as Bellingham and Rice being excellent in their dynamism.
( I don't even want to hear anyone say anything about Trent not being able to play wingback, saying he needs to be in a back 4 with someone like Salah ahead of him. you are wrong and a clown. )
tbh trent would be even better with a back five with more defensive cover allowing him to bomb forward more

HOW DID NOONE START BENZEMA. by far the most consistent out of these lads. put him in any other team and he does the same. salah is a well-rounded baller, probably the best one right now, but Ill take benz over him for the consistency (and prime benz > rest).

@@darkelf_00 Salah for last 4 to 5 seasons has been the most consistent forward in the world. Benzema still goes missing like the season where he just scored 7 goals, Salah never had such a season (barring the chelsea stint where he didn't get a chance to play much)
Honestly guys this was a great video, absolutely loved it. I came to FD for Sunday Vibes but I really do think this format is equally as good if not better. The banter and energy between you lot is just so entertaining. Keep it up. 👍
Pat is 100% correct about that Foden argument. The stats he is putting up is normal from promising young wingers in dominate teams. We have seen so many exampels of players that has put up better numbers in less dominate teams like Sancho, Dembele, Coman, Son Oyarzabal, Carrasco, Coutinho, Mane, Mount, Bruno and so on. Manchester City has so many players in there team who does the same as Foden like Mahrez, Sterling, Grealish, Bernardo Silva. Manchester City could easily sell him for 100m+ and buy Oyarzabal for half the pice and you would have a huge upgarde on every thing Foden does.
Everyone that u mentioned r pure wingers, Foden is playing a new position (CF) this season is still 2nd in THAT team, he’s better than the other two, I’m sorry but that’s how I see it

If Foden is going to play permanently in that false 9 role Manchester city would be better of keeping Ferran, or play KDB, Gundogan, B. Silva. If he is going to play on the wing City is better of playing Mahrez, Sterling, Bernardo Silva. If City is going to play him at CAM then KDB, Gundogan, B. Silva all are better. Foden is easily replaceable, something you can't say about Bellingham or Pedri who have been consistently starting for teams and carried them at times. Bellingham and Pedri plays regularly Foden plays ones in a while

Bellingham and Pedri has played more minutes than Foden, thats despite them being sevral years younger than Foden. Pedri has been out with injuries half a season. Foden hasent really had any injuries. When Pedri hasent played for Barca, Barca looked like they wasnt even going to play European football next season, but when he has played Barca has looked like the best team in the league. Bellingham has been Dortmunds best midfeider 2 seasons in a row, and when he has not been playing Dormund points per game has fallen down 0,6 points. When Foden plays for Manchester City they get 0,2 less points per game, conceding almost 10% more often when he plays compered to when he dosent play

I think Sam was spot on about the Bellingham and Pedri
Pedri is the best and most important player for both Barcelona and Spain. Do these guys even watch football I am confused? Pedri won the best young player award of 2021 at the age of just 18. And he is still just 19. Foden without proper team support is just a good player.
These guys need to was the proper amount of football not just watch their team then act like experts.

I 100% back Joe on his selling concept. Theres no point having the options of start, sell, bench if you're just treating it as a best-worst. It loses all actual strategy of the whole game lmao
Imagine if you are a center back and you're playing solid every week, in great form and you realise no matter how good you play, or how bad Maguire plays, he will still get picked ahead of you. It's fucked up considering Southgate has previously dropped players for not playing regularly but that's double standards i guess..
Bad call calling Henderson Terrible this season, man has played 38 games in all competitions, has been consistent bar few hectic games back to back where Liverpool couldn't rotate due to injuries and has even chipped in quality goals and assists, if Hendo was terrible Liverpool wouldn't be where they are now - competing for all the top four trophies. Man is such an underrated player and should be England's captain over Harry Kane.

The disrespect for Henderson is mad. If you're going to play TAA in a 4-3-3, having Henderson in midfield provides a lot more balance than Mount or Bellingham.
it’s not mad. he’s a decent midfielder that found a perfect role in his current situation. put him in any other club and he’ll be just another guy.
That is exactly why Reece James or Kyle Walker should start. All 3 right backs are world class, however, if you have Trent in then you'll need to compensate in other parts of the pitch. People that pick Trent forget balance and that football is a team game.

@@leo67117 Henderson has only played for two clubs and he has played really well in both, so this theory he will be just another guy is just speculation at this point. Just look at the evidence in front of you instead of relying on ifs and butts.
@@bobbystevens9858 if TAA is a bad defender how come his defensive stats are comparable or better than Reece James and Walker for past two to three seasons and creative numbers are through the roof. Overall TAA is one of the most creative player in the world, its like saying England has KDB but still decides to play Jonjo shelvey week in and week out.
Joe's logic in the first games makes 100% sense. You have to consider why you play that player, why you bench one, why you sell one. The logic doesn't only apply to whom you start, otherwise it would be a basic 1st, 2nd, 3rd rating game.

tbf on englands road to euro id say the role of walker was much more immense than maguire. Some of the tracebacks that walker made is just so underrated.

I like the section but I’d suggest ordering it as Start, Bench, Sell as it reads better almost ordering the players 1-3 rather than the second best players being at the bottom of the list

I’m surprised Sam didn’t point this out: Henderson would fit with Trent better than any of those midfielders since in the last Euros they were able to have an expansive midfield because they had Kyle Walker behind. I do know know how that backline would mesh of a single pivot with two attacking 8’s like Mount and Bellingham.

maguire has been good for england because we play in a back 5 with 2 holding midfielders and there is no space behind him to expose his lack of agility and lack of pace. its also why he was good last season for united but bad this season when we have tried to play a higher line.
I just paused when the gang revealed the future players in start, sell, bench. How and I really wanna stretch, HOW could no one choose Pedri as a starter? I mean look what the lad accomplished last year with both club (an awful team with Barcelona standards) and a sort of newbuilt Spain in the Euros and how his return to the field affects the form of Barcelona (obviously not alone). I mean Bellingham has huge potential, but he is no Pedri.

English bias is insane. Pedri is the best young player of the 3. Bellingham the worst. Start/bench between Pedri & Foden is a fair swap depending on whats needed. However, to say Bellingham is better than Pedri is ludicrous.

I think Henry and Salah would be devastating coming off the bench against a tired defense. With Rooney and Kane starting in their respective rounds.
