Synth jacket maybe? Or a midi controller jacket? We all made fart sounds with our armpits at least once back when we where young... Now we could make snear and kick sounds with our armpits, change the octave with the sipper and so on. 😂
This is by far my most favorite Christmas present... EVER. I recently learned ("learned") how to use a sewing machine too! It's rather satisfying! thanks david! annoyingly i was proper squeezed on time for this, had to get it sent off a day after i got back from my europe tour so regretfully the actual making of it took the whole time i didnt get to follow through with any of my electronic ideas. :( next time!!!!!
Been listening to your music forever and had no idea that you made youtube videos. I was so confused when I saw your logo on the secret Santa list. Haha. Instant subscription.
I make long furbies on commission and ever since this video came out I've gotten so.. so many requests for one of these😂you did a really amazing job making one of these for a beginner though! I'm impressed!
The only thing that might have made it the slightest bit better would have been to jam some working Furby speech electronics into each head before sewing it on so they could all argue with each other
The Furberus was pretty cool. Should make another for yourself, and set it up similar to the chorus in making noise, but with more heavily distorted sounds. Maybe some suboctave or comb-filter effect goodness on it?
Dude have you found the fortunate soldering error in the backing track shoe whereby it produces a number of interesting tones when you turn on the LEDs prior to stomping the doorbell?
You can use some sort of scale cell mounted in the shooes so the harder you step on your toes the more intense it gets. You can even have more than one to sense different directions. Perhaps controlling on e of your midi.machines? :)
Saw you on TV today and then Colin sent me on this yet secret Santa series watching everyone in order secret Santa just bought you loads of new subscribers and likes happy Christmas
"Oh, that's not the way, you don't do it like that, that's the wrong way to do it" - me to myself, out loud, every day, doing everything, holy relatable content
Looks like the hacksmith is keeping it, time to make another for yourself, but make it functional, ;) The electronics can go in a tube at the base for accessibility btw, best way to stuff something like that is to start with it inside out, and use a dowel to push the stuffing in (i helped my ex to stuff toys)
Tension on your sewing machine needs adjusted or you have the thread wrong. And when loading the bobbin remember it should be in the shape of a P not a Q. A properly loaded machine won't leave lumpy thread clumps on the back.
To bad you didn't have time to outfit each of the Furby heads with synths. You could have noise, base, and drums activated by light. You could use an arduino as a sequencer.
1.) Add an accelerometer/gyroscope/something-or-other to the shoes to detect position/rotation/whatever 2.) Assign MIDI CC numbers to lengths/angles/I don't cares Now you have your own bass pedal shoes!
You'd better just make the 3 heads (maybe also the body) separately and stitch them together to save some material, and probably make it a bit easier to sew, as each piece would be way smaller and you do got the option to cut a large piece, fold it in half and sew only one side to make a tube. Just some suggestion if you ever need more of those furberus(es) (and yes, I'm actually also suggesting an alternative name here). (And, it might be cool if there's a way to wire the whole thing so that the three furbies can still function fully (for example, using a 16 wire bundled cable to connect everything back together)... But it would be the actual creepiest thing then.)
Put the dig dug arcade game music on the shoes! That might be a little bit more computer than no computer, but it'd be fun to see you walking to music and have it abruptly stop like the game did.
It looks like the samples are .WAV files. Many video games have uncompressed audio for speed's sake especially. Luckily there's parts of the build video that show the samples being transferred. They need to get a board with less latency, and it might be possible. I've seen people use Arduinos for music before. I agree about your .WAV file assessment, but they might be a weird .WAV format. However, I can't name a reason why you'd want to use a weird .WAV variant nowadays since there's much better formats with a wide compatibility. The lag for making real-time music is too much for the effects. The kids have a great idea with the doorbell, but since it's adults that made it, I don't mind criticizing it. The samples should be loaded into RAM, but then again, we're dealing with embedded, so it's possible they only have 2k of RAM. There could be other reasons like the audio files might not be edited right. The editing one would be an easy fix. I also didn't see many people making Arduino projects dealing with real-time audio. One suggestion I did like was someone embedding the audio into the source code, and that would speed things up. Only problem: 2k of RAM. Making sure the .WAV files are mono, plus maybe turning down the sampling rate can help, but 2k is microscopic for uncompressed audio. There's also a chance that the Arduino might be able to fire off a compressed file with low latency. The 1/4 jack, while large, is actually a good idea because there's wireless systems that would plug right into it

You should make and offer a few two headed musical furby snakes.

I knew these two would collaborate
You are crazy! I love it!
Hey young sewing-rookie, use your stapler instead of pins! Works fine 4 me for ages!
That Furby is amazing...
YOU'RE AWESOME!! Maybe try Bluetooth adaptors for them? :D
Jas Stubb Bluetooth is everything that is wrong with the modern world and where it’s going!!!!
@@LOOKMUMNOCOMPUTER HAhaha! I do agree... but for the purpose of the shoes? could be a better alternative to an aux jack? :P
3:51 - I'm delighted and horrified at the same time.
I'd give it a home in the blink of and eye tho!
reggiep75 ask hacksmith
is WAV or OGG or MP3 loaded into the fx boards? one or another format may have more lag (latency). you could switch up the format to find out...
The 1/4 jack, while large, is actually a good idea because there's wireless systems that would plug right into it
Everybody gangsta till a furby hydra rocks up
Long Furby Monster? Thanks for the nightmare fuel.
If I had to explain this guy in one sentence it would be “ he makes synths and instruments out of random shit “
Where do I buy one
for a second there i thought there was something wrong and your video was skipping over too colin furze's channel lol
Those clogs look hilarious.
Bloody ell the blokes out of the late 80's brit punk scene.
Looks like Mr Maker went electro-punk and never came down from the cocaine
This video had me in stitches!
no pun intended
@@LOOKMUMNOCOMPUTER I got starstruck when you replied to my pun! Here's to a furbtastic 2020 to you.
That would be so trippy lol
Terrifying. Good job! :D
Maybe some bluetooth transmitters rather than cables
