Your videos helped me today, i ordered colorbond flashing to seal the top of a 3m long parapet wall, and i bent it at the front end of wall to seal. The hardest thing is getting a clean cut with the tin snips. The technique you showed us of tapping with a hammer after to tidy up bends, edges and folds really helped to get a great end product. Also matching colour silicone helped!
Wow, just wow! Great vid DP - the 'why' behind doing a good job and the traps for someone having a go - or a cowboy. Great shots too - really showed how it was done. Cheers mate!
Nice work mate. What’s the name of the flashing you applied on top of the Waka Flex i.e. you screwed what appeared to be some sort of aluminium flashing to the side wall to sit above the Waka Flex. What’s the name of this type of flashing that goes on top? A question I have is - you made screw fixings into the side of that aluminium flashing, just like the previous tradie screwed down the flashing. Aren’t both fixings notorious for potential water ingress?
it's called cover flashing and the fixings are nylon wall anchors and no they are different. they are vertical on the wall not in the pan and they do not leak. they are the approved fixings.
The key to this fix is that we are keeping the water above the tiles. That is because of it proximity to the ocean
