    That little piece of misinformation about the egg in the intro opens up the question of what else was a lie.
    Aaravos says a human mage discovered dark magic, when he was the one who gave it to them.
    Not to mention the info left out about how humans came to be banished

      You're absolutely right! I'm confident that in the upcoming seasons, as we delve deeper into the show's backstory and uncover the true events, we'll gain a better understanding of everything. It's exciting to think about the mysteries and revelations that lie ahead. Let's keep watching and eagerly anticipate the journey that awaits us! **

    Yeah, there's still things we don't fully know about Aaravos. Personal bias can misguide many people, intentional or otherwise
    Good chance that either Zubeia was mislead about him or she did straight up lie to the gang.
    Aaravos is a mysterious person but might give us the truth once he's out of his prison

    • @Virrow

      I'm really intrigued by Aaravos and his backstory for the upcoming season. I vaguely remember a Q&A from years ago where the show creators mentioned that we might have to wait until at least season 5 to delve into his past. So, it seems like there's a good chance we'll finally get more insight in the next season. On a related note, while it's not directly addressed in the video, I can't help but think that the story we heard from Zubeia about Aaravos may not be entirely accurate. It's highly possible that only half of what she shared with us was actually the truth about him. It wouldn't surprise me if there are deeper layers to his character waiting to be uncovered. Can't wait to see how it all unfolds!

  • @Eternal_Placidity
    @Eternal_Placidity ปีที่แล้ว +5

    That’s what we have Zubeia for, a big ol’ exposition dump at the beginning of s5 so we finally know the second half of the Aaravos Illuminati story.

    the first time he performed Dark Magic he was oppenned to it brutally but he chose his own path through his inner psyche breaking the cycle of humans going straight with the easy Dark Magic and choose to become a True Sky Mage and soon to learn other Primal sources.
    But yea it oppennd up to what was already there too.. Bc humans could at one time/must of connected the Primal Magics long ago but it was lost to time for them..

    I wanted to clarify my choice of ending the video with the seemingly out-of-context line, "It's a rock." Allow me to elaborate on the reasoning behind this decision.
    I selected that particular line because I found it to be a delightful example of a character confidently stating something as an objective fact, only to be proven utterly wrong. In this case, it wasn't just a simple rock but rather a crucial piece of a Magma Titan, a creature whose hunt resulted in the tragic loss of the character's wife. This event, in turn, set into motion a chain of events that shaped the entire series.
    By highlighting this moment, I aimed to emphasize the fallibility of characters and the potential consequences of their misconceptions. It serves as a reminder that even seemingly insignificant details can have far-reaching implications in the grand scheme of things.
    So, while it may have seemed out of place initially, the inclusion of the "It's a rock" line was a deliberate choice to showcase the intricate web of cause and effect within the story. It adds depth to the narrative and sparks intrigue for viewers who may not have fully grasped the significance of that particular line.
    I hope this explanation provides you with a clearer understanding of my creative thought process and enhances your appreciation of the intricacies within the series. Thank you for your continued support and engagement with my content.

    I think that zubeias version of the events is flawed. She blames everything on aaravos like a conspiracy theorist. We know that her version is flawed, because the events leading up to sarai death are not the fault of aaravos. Aaravos is a mystery box. I think the writers are going for a puzzle with multiple unreliable narrators.

  • @Casey____
    @Casey____ ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Great video Virrow I'm a really big fan of this style.
    About the video: What I really like about it is that we're getting most of our information from characters which makes everything unreliable unless proven so. Like you said, humans being unable to do magic is a great example.
    We didn't even know who was the guy narrating the prologue until season 2. If he was apart of the show or some sort of connection to the 4th wall. This show always got my gears clicking

    • @Virrow
      @Virrow  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I totally get what you're saying, and thank you, Casey, for watching and your kind words. I really appreciate it! I've been racking my brain trying to figure out if Viren was lying about the dragon egg or if he genuinely didn't know. It's confusing because he's been in another mirror dimension, so how would he have knowledge about the Dragon King being struck down? If he's just a perfect narrator, shouldn't he have all the truth and knowledge? It's a mind-boggling question that can turn your brain into jelly if you dwell on it too much. So, take my advice and try not to overthink it like I did! XD

    Callum is able to do Primal magic because of that Dark magic coma he went through
    If "trying hard enough" was all that it took to connect to an Arcanum and do Primal magic,then there would be a plethora of human mages for years,even before Callum was born
    There's also a chance that Elves lied about it to stay "on top of the food chain" to hold on their social status

    One of my big questions is why human primal mages were forgotten, was it because of the elves and dragons wanting to maintain their status quo or was it because of dark mages who didn't want Primal magic replace dark magic

    • @Virrow
      @Virrow  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That's a fascinating question, and there are indeed numerous possibilities to consider. Personally, I wouldn't be surprised if we discover later on that humans have always possessed the capability to perform Primal magic but were somehow restricted from accessing it. It's also plausible that certain individuals, like Callum, possess the unique combination of empathy and personal insight required to comprehend the Arcanum, whereas others may not have reached that level of understanding. I don't believe it's necessarily a conspiracy orchestrated by dark mages, as dark magic focuses more on utilizing power rather than solely embracing the darkness. Additionally, we've seen instances of humans employing Primal stones, suggesting that they don't inherently oppose the use of Primal magic. In my opinion, it's more likely that there was a historical system of oppression imposed on humanity by dragons and other entities, which shaped the current state of affairs. It's an intriguing aspect to explore further in the series!
