- Eric Scott Esch, better known by his nickname “Butterbean,” is an American heavyweight boxer, kickboxer, and mixed martial artist. In the last two videos about Erik, we showed you his fights in boxing and mma. In this video we show you all of his kickboxing fights that we could find footage of.

I love his tenacity. Not only did he have a cannon, he was a showman. He has to be in the top 10 based on those merits.
He mostly fought just 4 round matches so he wouldn't get in the top ten.

Some people just have dynamite in their hands, Butterbean is definitely one of them. Imagine if this guy had started training at 5 or 10 instead of starting as an adult. How scary must it be to be a pro boxer/kickboxer and hit a guy with everything you have and he just looks at you. Crazy

I used to know him(Butterbean) from my father(L).. I miss him so much both.. Bring back so many memories..🤕🤕
His taunts were great because they were responses to how the opponent was fighting, like if he thought you were being dishonourable he let you know. That was really smart because it eroded their confidence, and all he needed was one moment of confusion. The other thing was when he took punches intentionally, for various reasons, I believe. He had a hell of a neck and jaw. In this video we saw his punch taking technique fail him. He was out of his prime and taking a questionable road into kickboxing. I hope he got well-paid for these fights.
When he just stands there, arms down, and takes a few to the face and stares at them like it was nothing, it's kinda terrifying

I think this guys prowess in the ring didnt come from his stamina or punches, but his ability to take punches and keep going till the opener was worn out. I mean look at his build, his head sits directly on a massive torso and shoulders, he’s like a brick wall. He put all his points into defence.
Well that and one punch KO power. Butterbean had absolutely atomic bombs in his hands and you really are born with that or you’re not. He hit like guys like Mark Hunt and Foreman, where if they catch you right you are going to sleep. Doesn’t matter who you are big, small, skilled or not. If they pop you, it’s lights out. Butterbean had that.

Much respect for Butterbean only boxer that really hang in with MMA and kickboxers. Just Francois Botha hung in with the best of the best of K-1! Back then those boxers said kickboxers would not make a chance till they received their first lowkick.... But those two boxers got all my respect to hang with the best of the best of our sport!

You gotta love butter bean. He is a fighter who not always going to win but he always puts on a good show. I think it was odd he decided to pursue kick boxing career because while you do seem him defend himself from lower attacks with his feet, I don't see why he couldn't stay in more traditional fighting tournaments when he obviously a more heavier fighter who would find it challenging to work against quicker fighters.

If I am not mistaken, Wesley's nickname is Cabbage. Wesley has one of the best chins I have ever seen. I have seen him in many fights and he is a really tough customer.

Butterbean may just look like a guy that eats fast food & sits at TV a lot but its not the case, the upper blubber acts like a buffer shielding the neck & body muscles from pain of apponents blows, short arm span & a strong pair of legs were all used to his advantage too, hence the reason he won many fights.
