Scotty, your TH-cam channels one of the very best on TH-cam to watch you and listen to you giving recommendations about cars is just fantastic to see fun and keep up the good work helping all of us wanna be gearheads making good decisions about buying bad cars thank you
I have a 2017 Hyundai Elantra se i have a coolant smell coming in through the ac and coolant levels go down fast. My worst fear is the heater core leaking have yet to discover a leak anywhere else. I can't afford anything else. I'm stuck with this car. Thank you Scotty for everything you teach us
Mazda cx-5 is life. Power when i need it when zipping in n out of traffic, good gas mileage, and spacious. Already put 100k on mine and no major repairs as of yet. Just oil changes, brakes, and flushes, and tires.
You're The Best Scotty! From your analysis of the V8 Tundra to folks I know and Other Owners I've met you are Exactly Right. Good, Dependable, Solid and Comfortable Trucks. My neighbor next door had one and he loved it.
I drove my company’s V8 Tundra back and forth from Des Moines to Omaha. It does have power but real shitty gas mileage and a small tank. I hated it after awhile.
A year into owning a 21 Crew Max that has 16k. The interior is "dated" and "spartan" according to all the truck channels. Ride is "primitive" if you ask owners of the new generation. It only gets 19 mpg on my ride to work, although I hear this is exemplary for a Tundra. 14 in town is the norm, if I'm driving like my grandma. I've asked my bride to bury me in that truck when it's my time to go home to be with The Lord.
Wouldn't it be great if Toyota brought back the 5.7 V8 and used the 10 speed transmission on today's Tundra and also brought back the V6 and regular 4 for the Tacoma?
I always hear complaints about how horrible MPG is in the 5.7 engine every since I started using 5w 30 synthetic oil on my 2020 Tundra I’ve seen 16-18 mpg on the city and 20-23 on the hwy I guess it’s sort on par with other V8 engines. I used to owned a 2004 Dodge 5.7 Hemi that was a little thirstier than this engine on the Tundra sold that Dodge back on the days because of how bad it was on MPG if the Tundra was that bad as everyone mentions I would have gotten rid of it so far I’m still driving it really good truck I’m no brand loyal just want something that ain’t gonna be breaking every now and then that’s why I went with the Tundra, Merry Christmas to all.
Appreciate this comment. I’m looking at a 2010 tundra and was being fearmongered about gas guzzling. It’s a truck so I obviously expect it so. But 15 on the highway you’re either modded out like crazy with huge heavy tires or heavy footed. I just need something reliable that needs the least maintenance on my two days a week in office job and the trips up to the mountains with the fam.
I think I'll stick to my paid off 2001 Dodge ram with the 5.9 Cummins and rebuilt automatic transmission lol 😅 for now anyway! Another great video Scotty
@slalomking it's gotten worse over the 6 years I've had it because of being in Iowa, but I've seen much worse. I moved with it to Alabama so no more road salt. Frame is solid, but rocker panels could use some TLC some day!
Hi boss i got problem for alternator wrong cas current . Now when i checked the grounding got positive current .. how to reset back .. become normal . Thank you Civic 8gen fd type r Relocated bateri back bonet Using 150 amp fuse
I’d love to trade my 2017 Tacoma V6 4x4 manual for one of these since I’m 6’ 3” and 240 lbs, but I drive 82 miles round trip a day just for work and 15 mpg just sucks.
My daughter has a 2020 camry..120k miles..no problems. Make sure you do the oil changes at 5k or so miles and routine maintenance on schedule...300k plus mile car.
Watch Scotty's other videos where he talks about all 4 tires have to be the same with the same amount of tread wear otherwise it damages the AWD system. If one tire blows out and can't be repaired, all four tires have to be replaced.
Mazda is a very good car. I believe they will out sell Toyota if Toyota continues to change their proven engineering. Mazda, please come back with the small pickup truck with a Manual transmission or your excellent automatic transmission. I'd buy one today.
Late for a business meeting out of town key locked in our Expedition rental. On a whim a coworker tried his eight year old Escape key. Boom lock pops up we’re in. Ford cheapness saved us
Get a 2024 with a manual. I noticed the 2025 non R civic has no manual. Maybe the si has one still. But I personally don't want the 1.5 turbo. Only the 2.slow. just wish it was a 2.5
I drive a 2014 Civic with CVT AND I have 191,000 miles without an issue. I worry about how long it will go, but so far it remains a great daily driver. Not all CVTs are the same. And yes, I would have preferred a stick, but nobody else could drive it in my family, so 🤷♂️
5.7 is definitely a great engine. They are starting to show coolant problems with age. Head gaskets and the coolant passage on top of the engine. Both expensive. Make sure you change your coolant. Personally i would still find an 07-09 with the legendary 4.7.
All engines will eventually have problems, nothing new until then I will still keep driving my 2020 Tundra until the wheels fall off, I notice that by using the 5w 30 synthetic oil mpg has improved I’m seeing 16-18mpg on city and 20-23 on hwy, not to bad I guess on a V8 engine.
JUST Saw a video about a big container fire in the port of Miami caused by a saltwater damaged salvage Tesla being shipped overseas with other salvage electric cars. This must be the thing where they ship these totalled junkers to Ukraine to be refurbished and driven there.
My technically antique 1970 C10 attains 17.1 mpg at 55 mph hauling 31 bales of alfalfa hay! No complicated computers or electrical gidget gadgets. Dislike all the vehicles that went to computer controls.
@Rick-vg2pz You got one of the last of the great Tundras that has a very reliable dependable V8 in it. I just traded in my 2011 Ford F150 with a 5.0L Coyote V8 in it with 163,000 miles on it for a 2024 Nissan Titan with the 5.6L Endurance V8 in it with 400 HP and 413 Ibs of Torque and man its a freakn beast and best of all no cylinder deactivation and no Auto stop start crap either unlike the 2024 F150 with the 5.0L Coyote V8 in it with 400 HP and 410 Ibs of Torque.
Oh yeah Tundra love, just traded my 2012 Tundra in for a 2018 Tundra 5.7L with 58 thousand miles on it, my 2012 only had 60 thousand miles on it and had no issues with it,I just wanted a newer one, next one will be the 2021,after that who knows lol.
Just in North America where the quality control is garbage. When Japan is actually assembling a Toyota, it is far superior quality. Other countries will get the good cars while we in the US get garbage assembled in Mexico or the US.
I think you're wrong. Yes some models are bad but, toyota still makes grate reliable cars just find the right model for you that has all the stupid stuff out. Ps. Mg gm ford and Nissan are still bad they're just bad
I’m thinking of buying a fourrunner used or new. I’m a senior woman who likes to travel and i currently reside in Orlando but looking to relocate north., any suggestions on which one would serve me well?

A V6 without turbos was also good enough.

Just make sure you change the coolant every 50 - 60,000 miles. The coolant can get acidic and eat away the head gasket.

My technically antique 1970 C10 attains 17.1 mpg at 55 mph hauling 31 bales of alfalfa hay! No complicated computers or electrical gidget gadgets. Dislike all the vehicles that went to computer controls.
Where I live you would have to park that in a fork knox building or it would be stolen in 10 min
17 mpg is doing good. I have a 1069 c20 that gets 6 mpg.
@@Zzrdemon6633 Any thief would have fun getting past my 4 stallions who love the truck that brings them alfalfa hay & sometimes girls!
@@kevinwestmoreland2099 In all fairness your C20 is a true 3/4 ton & can out haul my C10 any day with carrying a load.
@frederickbooth7970 mine has the eaton floater rear end with some steep gears.
The new TTV6 will be fine after bugs (big ones) are worked out. I trust Toyota more than the competition!
Thanks Scotty.
Somebody send this to Toyota please I really need a v8 tundra.
V8s are a fuel hog.
Traded a 2019 f150 for a 2020 tundra. Im the only one of my friend group that doesn’t have problems.
V-8 tundra good truck
I only due V-8s. MPG, I can care less.
I’m sticking with my 2016 Corolla with the 1.8litre engine and last year before Toyota safety sense became standard
,
Hold on to your 94 Celicas folks
Oh yeah Tundra love, just traded my 2012 Tundra in for a 2018 Tundra 5.7L with 58 thousand miles on it, my 2012 only had 60 thousand miles on it and had no issues with it,I just wanted a newer one, next one will be the 2021,after that who knows lol.
Sorry not sorry 😂
But how much did he pay for it ? $$$$$$$$$$ ?
Sweet truck. V8
Did I miss something? Why is his channel changing again.
You forgot to talk about why your channel is changing? but you definitely talked about a Toyota truck with a v8
you have a cat under the truck
Channel changes? Will Scotty only die once a month now?
Toyota will soon be worse than Kia and Hyundai
Agreed. Although they’re already worse than the competition
Doubt it.
U mean gm
Just in North America where the quality control is garbage. When Japan is actually assembling a Toyota, it is far superior quality. Other countries will get the good cars while we in the US get garbage assembled in Mexico or the US.
I think you're wrong. Yes some models are bad but, toyota still makes grate reliable cars just find the right model for you that has all the stupid stuff out.
Ps. Mg gm ford and Nissan are still bad they're just bad
but..... but..... but the channel thingy.. what about the channel thingy??
First Scotty!!
I’m thinking of buying a fourrunner used or new. I’m a senior woman who likes to travel and i currently reside in Orlando but looking to relocate north., any suggestions on which one would serve me well?
Locking differential and spray the underneath with Amsoil heavy duty metal protector. I’m moving to North Dakota. I can’t wait
Any model 2023 and older.
