The most underrated instrument that makes all music better.
@Baba Ganush I mean it really is
@Baba Ganush It's cool to say things you and everyone around you like are "underrated". It makes you and those around you feel like you are "in" and others are "out", satisfying our social need for acceptance. Nevermind it's a complete and total misuse of the word. Humans are remarkably good at ignoring facts if it makes them feel better.
@Baba Ganush not underrated if you know music or play an instrument, but bass is definitely overlooked by most people.
Nope bass is the worst instrument ever low sound doesnt need to a band , Guitar is the best instrument if you are a guitar player you are an intelligent person , if you are a bassist you are most likely a peasant who only pluck 1 string at a time .
@@nahshnahsuhe3547 Music without bass is flat. Do you know the song "Another One Bites the Dust" by Queen? The entire focal point of the song is the amazing bass line. And bass isn't supposed to be in the forefront like guitar is. It's supposed to be the backbone of the music together with the drums. You are entitled to your own opinions about the instrument, but don't go saying it has no value in music.
She matches her bass, her walls and her ceiling as well as the bass matching her door. Everything is in perfect synchronicity and harmony

Bass is seriously underrated, I’m a bass player myself and it’s definitely the most important part of a band.
We agree!
Definitely! In some songs you don't really hear the bass but you'll hear the difference if it's not there.
??? who ever thinks bass is underated, are hangin' out with the wrong crowd vs dimension
great bass makkes great space
great bass grooves for drums and vocals
Exactly, it just doesn't sound the same without bass and that's coming from a guitarist. Basses are one of the best instruments created.
It is said that a band is only as good as it’s drummer. Nobody has EVER said a band is only as good as it’s bassist. That being said, as a drummer who has played for over 40 years, I’ve always found that the better the bass player, the better music I was involved with. I would look forward to fill in gigs when I knew the bassist was solid. I’ve NEVER thought that about ANY guitarist. They ain’t back line so they don’t matter.
Yeah, went through the grind. Took me three weeks, but I nailed it. The first time I played it through flawlessly? Felt like I knew all the secrets of the universe. lol

Stevie had the best bass lines. His left hand was on it. I know this is played on the bass, but listen to some of his songs and in particular his 'bass lines' on the piano.
That's actually Nate Watts who has been with Stevie since the 70s and is the MD (Musical Director) for Stevie Wonder. Which means most of the arrangements you hear, Nate put that together. I'm not taking away from the creativity of Stevie whatsoever because he is a beast and legend in his own right. However Nate is the one who arranged the majority of Stevie's stuff and it always sucks for us as musicians on a recognition stand point. Yeah we get the royalties off whatever record we produced or played on (if your contract is setup that way) but there is always something special about being recognized for something great that you created/accomplished that money sometimes just can't replace. This isn't a negative comment, It's just musical history on who the other genius is behind a lot of Stevie Classics lol
@@MaestroBass Nate played on the songs that called for a real bass player.. they were still arranged by Stevie. Stevie has one of the best left hands this world has to offer. One of the many songs that stick out in particular is stranger on the shore of love. He is the reason why we use the “wonder basses” still today. It’s actually not fair of how great his bass playing was. Nate came along during the songs of the key of life album. Before that, those bass playing was all Stevie on every song
Stevie didn't write bass lines.
He didn't even let studio musicians put their names on the albums they worked on.
@@DiarrheaBubbles you have no clue to what you’re talking about. No one wrote his baseline, no even him because he just played his own bass lines on the keyboard. My brother, Isaiah Sharkey(look him up), has access to every session ever done at Motown and it’s subsidiary(tamla) and Stevie is in fact playing his own music on innervisions, talking book, fulfillingness first finale, most of songs in the key of life, secret life of plants, some on hotter than July, most on in square circle, all of characters, jungle fever, etc etc etc.
