Easy to follow guide and glad you included the error of roll, something easily done that can confuse people -- but now you showed what can happen, so it will stick easier.
That moment when you make the micro controller and mislabel two top/bottom collectives out and then wonder for 10 minutes straight why your Coax is spinning to the left like crazy only to find out you labelled them wrong and fix it up and when you test it it works and now you have you first working helicopter that flies perfectly. This is a great creation that you ProfNCogito. :D
For those of you who have issues with spinning (yaw), try deleting the rotors and exiting the editor, then go in and place them again WITHOUT symmetry on! Sometimes symmetry flips values around and that is when you get faulty behavior. And good tutorial, works perfectly for my helicopter!
You know there is a "subtract" logic block, right? I can see that you even have it in your hotbar at the bottom. It does the same thing as adding an additive inverse. It's amazing.
thank you so much for making this! I haven't seen many helicopter with a tail rotor tutorials that aren't 3 years old. seems like they are broken now or hard to make. Thanks you once again for teaching beginners how to make things!
I just subbed, stumbled on your channel looking for more stormworks content! Love that you also do tutorials for the builds you speed through on your series
Thanks for the help! I deleted my original comment before I saw your response, as I had fixed it by then. the issue was that I had some of my gyro inputs improperly setup (I fly with pitch and roll on arrow keys, and yaw and collective on WASD because its the same layout as my RC transmitter IRL) Thanks anyway, and I love your videos!
my heli is just spinning slowly to the left and yaw just does not work but the weird thing is that yaw does move my rotors how it is supposed to, but the moment i start up the engine yaw just does nothing at all
I'm sure I connected everything correctly, at the beginning it seems to work but then after a few seconds something seems of with the gyro it keep shaking forward and back like crazy, any idea whats wrong?
@@loganlemaster8942 For me it was misplacing the rotors, make sure you follow closely with the rotor placing instruction, bottom rotor should be a default rotor facing forward on Y axis and the top one should be facing forward but flipped on roll axis(you can tell by check where the arrows on the rotors point)
@@nxidplease Glad you fixed it, I did check everything. When I deleted the modular engine and replaced it with a small engine (everything else was the same) it worked. I did play with the gear boxes a little bit, when I increased the blade speed the issue came back. So there may be a bug with the rotor speed. It was a good tutorial but you never really explained why we are doing what we are doing for some stuff. Because yes you made a helicopter and showed how but i feel like i couldn't replicate it because you where just hooking in values without stating what it did and why you did that.
Any idea why my yaw is controlling my collective instead of well.. the yaw? Up/Down move the collective fine but I have no clue why Left/Right would be doing that too.

Helicopters cam be weird in game. I found that every single one you build is so mathematically wonky it's a pain. I always add a function block to my tail rotor to add or minus trim to correct this issue.

my left/right is go upside/down when i press it, but all connections and blades is right
I solved this problem by checking my connections on microcontroller
Do you know how to make my helicopter go faster without adding a propeller at the back or adding a jet exhaust
Small problem, when I go to move the helicopter forward it angles down and then looses altitude while moving straight
Too much pitch forward
For some reason my yaw makes my heli go upside down, but if i use it just a bit its fine
Are the blades on the right way?
I'm sure I connected everything correctly, at the beginning it seems to work but then after a few seconds something seems of with the gyro it keep shaking forward and back like crazy, any idea whats wrong?
not sure, double check all connections.

thanks for the vid. worked NP
may i ask a question? why after i spawned the heli it split apart? if the reason is the movement with grid how to fix it?
Make sure you merge.
You could have sections on your heli that are not connected (merged). To fix, go to the merge tab and it’s pretty self-explanatory from there
