Hit tops of head bolts with hammer then loosen a bit repeating. 4 hit and turn secessions will pop bolts right out.

Breaking bolts on these is normal removing and installing So are coil failures when you take it apart.

Jack, I admire your dedication. Since your crank was off one tooth, couldn't you have move both your intake and exhaust sprockets one tooth? So, instead of marks being perfectly on the black chain links, they one be one tooth left or right of the black links? Seems like this approach may have kept you from dealing with the lower sprocket. Is my thinking correct? Thanks.

After timing chain replacement , did you relearn the the motor? O Is not It necessary to do that?

If you blow compressed air into the cam phaser it will move about a quarter of an inch.

Please someone tell me where's the pcv valve on a 2005 4.2 6 cilinders in line 2wd
Trailblazer. The plastic cover for the air intake has a nipple were one short vacuum hose it's attached to. But those 2 nipples are empty. No pcv

Mr Crayne. Could you tell me the weight of that cylinder head? I do not have that little engine hoist you're using, but I still need to do the job

I know it’s been a year now lol. But I’m doing mine now and I ordered a rebuilt head bolt on ready and it’s 77.6 lbs.

How did you adjust the valve? I mean the little Gap sometimes they’re 0.40 mm at exhaust and 0.20 mm at intake valve?
    Thanks

I took the heads to an auto machine shop to have them checked. I don't know how to do that. Thanks,

Jack Crayne When you had to fix the timing because it wasn’t correct. How did you know which way you had to move the chain one tooth. Left or right? How did you know which way to move it
