I'd love to see a chart showing the insanely fast decline of USA based studios vs Canada's very fast growth. It seems like this year (2023) we've seen so many great USA based shops close, but have both UK and Canadian divisions that are now thriving and rehiring positions that were removed from the USA.

Cheap-cheap, dude. You can pay in Canada people much less. In other words, you will bring to home shrinked paycheck for the same amount of work, for the same type of work, for your time. You just get less. That it. And people lost jobs, because someone wanna save on OUR salary. So it is not "growth", it is just cheap'ization and way to nowhere. R&H tried to move to Canada, than to Malaysia, than to India, and now it is closed for a while. For Canada might it is good, *for the moment* , but for whole industry it is dead-end. In decade Canadian studios will be falling and new studios opened in the third world countries. Simple as that.

Yikes. That female to male ratio is quite huge. I wish there were statistics about international employees who emigrated to Canada to work in VFX. Idk if I will ever make it out of my small EU country that no one knows. There's only like 4 VFX artists that I know of. There's no options for studying VFX or even 3D CGI here either. I wish I had some hope left in me but honestly, seeing the work of people who have studied for 4 years in a professional facility designed to pump out as many VFX professionals as they can every 4 years and give them contacts, idk how I can compete.

You excluded salary stat in Canadian post production to make people abroad not to cry?.... To the man above, "fast decline of USA based studios vs Canada's very fast growth", sure dude, CHEAP. Besides taxes you can save $$$$$$ on employees. In other words YOUR paycheck shrinks.

No actually I am still collecting stats for that. Finding 100 years of average animator and post production starts has been hard. You can view the stats in the raw data spreadsheet attached to this video
