She once purchased an apothecary cabinet at a garage sale at some old farmstead. It was gawdy but she liked the color of the stone so she bought it and threw it into a drawer planning to someday do something with it. About 20 yrs later, her husband wanted to surprise her by having the stone made into a pendant. He took it to a jeweler and the jeweler offered him $50K on the spot. I don't remember the stone but it was rare b/c of the size and clarity. Her husband turned the offer down and surprised his wife with a very expensive pendant! I always loved that story!

My grandma went to Goodwill one time and saw this photo of the Beatles and noticed that it was indented of the signatures of each of members. The ink was worn off and the people at Goodwill said it was fake but she had a feeling it was real. So she took it home and got it checked out and found out it was real!!! Idk how much it cost but it is very valuable but she still has it just in case it becomes more expensive.

I found a Vintage road bike worth $1,000 and I paid $120 at a goodwill. I have had the bike for 1 year and I have over 450 miles on it. I also use it to haul a trailer, to do sorceing and dropping off packages. Absolutely the coolest fined.
I had a friend buy a jacket in a thrift store that had a Rolex in the pocket. It was 1st authenticated by a pond shop guy that offered $50 bucks for it. My boy got suspicious when the guy didn't want no for an answer and had it checked at a jewelry place instead that told him it was valued at $7,000.
Back in 2018, at my local thrift store (Fresno,CA) I found a first generation PS3 console. It was in mint condition and never used at all. And it still works today.
