I thought they had more words than that for the money you pay for these things. But then I guess the majority of cost is going in the build and the custom board. Must have taken you ages to put over 30k words in yours! I'm currently working on one trying to get the speech working. I'm also following your advice on another vid and using the esp32 as well.
@visageparanormal5079 our original parateks from 4 years ago had more than 5k words lol. The library has been building over the years, it could also be the way they have programmed it In, as they also have an accompanying word sound clip, where as the Paratek uses speech synthetic voices, Or TTS for short, it physically reads the word output. It might be possible to update the words list but it would take alot of work. On the Paratek however I grabbed the words and made a list, then the list is merely formatted like this, ("APPLE","ANIMAL","ANT",); Etc etc. It's far easier to compile a huge list. With over 30k single words, about 450 phrases in the other mode too. I've done versions which also connect via App, and added motion detection and a few other things, to be honest the extra functions are OK, but kinda gimmicky, most people buy these for the word modes.
@puggster yeah I just like being able to make my own equipment. I don't sell it (it's a confidence thing with me). I just like to tinker and see if I can make things for us to use on our investigations.
