I tried this braid pattern b/c I wanted to try a different pattern besides the straight-back cornrows on my sis who has thin hair in the middle. I also am not the best braider. For years, I struggled with fully grasping the concept of cornrowing, and little by little I would make progress. I watched this video a few times and I have to admit it was so beginner-friendly. I tweaked it a little for my skill level and for some reason THIS braid pattern was when the light bulb went off on how I needed to place my hands to braid close to the scalp. Thank you!!!

Sunday Hunter it could have been an allergic reaction to the hair or your scalp could have been dry. The weather has a lot to do with the condition of hair too. If it's cold or the sun is shinning constantly on you head it could have burnt it. And the cold chafed it.
