Agree 100% on shooting today with what you have today. 👍 After it’s shot and you’re editing, the pacing of the editing is the same regardless of the camera used. Pacing meaning aesthetic decision making on when to cut a scene and which scene to show next. Thanks for the great content Pav. You have an awesome TH-cam channel. 👍

S5 and FX3 for me. Hard to place my finger on it exactly but I sold one Sony camera for the S5 and it feels like a breath of fresh air. Like changing from your savvy business clothes into your casual comfort clothes lol

Do you generally prefer the video quality of one over the other? Autofocus aside of course.
are you talking about Sony and Lumix? I have Lumix S5II now so AF is pretty much on par now.
Quality wise Lumix delivers much better image quality overall
@@PavSZ yep. Since the S5II, my comment has become outdated. Hopefully they release a BM raw update soon so I can do raw like my S5I

I’m using an S5 atm but tempted by an A7IV. I’m planning on doing a bit of photojournalism and some documentaries, obviously the video AF is better on the A7IV but I’m worried about its ibis as I plan to shoot handheld. Do you find much difference between the AF for stills between the A7IV and S5? Thanks.
two great cameras. I couldn't choose one of them, I haven't. The IBIS and AF has got weaknesses and strengths in both of them too. In photography, almost the same. Sony ever so slightly more reliable
Thanks Pav. I’m considering getting both but I’m about to take a year off work to travel and take pictures/make films, so I’m resisting. The Sony ecosystem is tempting though. It’ll be interesting to see what lumix release in February.

Please do a s5 user review till now. As an eos r user, how much i miss autofocus if i replaced eos r with S5 ? that's the only thing holding me back ( don't every buy canon eos r/r6/r5 cameras for videography). I also don't like sony, because their inbuilt noise reduction filter adding a misty layer in all videos... sometimes its giving a cinematic look, but sometimes that annoying me..., I like s5 it is same as bmpcc 6k pro/g2 in dynamic range. only difference is bmpcc is 12bit were s5 is 10 bit
